Lovely area outside of bungalow very private and secure. This bungalow I feel is now dated and needs an update compared to the others on the site. I think because we stayed at the end of the holiday season it had not been cleaned very thoroughly. The kitchen hob is very outdated and needs to be replaced. The table lamp in the lounge was not working the sofa and armchairs are very worn. The rug needed a good clean and was very dirty. On arrival when we opened the door the lounge was full of flies alive and dead. The double bedroom I had to take off the fitted sheet of the bed and wash and dry it as it was very badly stained. The wallpaper on the ceilings and walls in most rooms is coming away overall it needs a good painting. I have stayed in a few of the holiday bungalows on the site but I would not recommend this one or stay again unless it is updated. It is such a shame as the outside area is very big and private and immaculate.

We had a very relaxing and peaceful week in Castaway which is well equipped and in a good location for visiting our favourite places in South Devon. A welcome pack was much appreciated.

Clean , comfortable with everything you would need in bungalow down to towels, bedding ,cleaning equipment and condiments. Very lovely area outside with plenty of comfortable outdoor seating. And the view is fabulous.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the quiet location of the bungalow park. The only disappointment was the view of the estuary was obscured by overgrown hedges and trees. However the bungalow itself was really comfortable and well equipped.
We will definitely consider coming back again, as it is in a prime location, close to many fine eateries, our favourite being The Berry Head Hotel.

Had a lovely stay, I have been to this bungalow several times over the years. The only suggestion I would make is to replace or dispense with the armchair covers which are a bit of a hazard. I’m sorry to have to give an excellent review in case it gets so popular that I won’t be able to book it again

We really enjoyed our time at Castway, visiting the local area to see friends. It was clean, tidy, super quiet in a sunny location with beautiful views. Communication in advance was great.

One note - the chalet is listed as dog friendly but there is a sign on the bedroom door to say no dogs on the bed. Completely understandable but this information should be given in advance for dog owners to make arrangements if needed.

This is a nice chalet, clean and tidy, comfortable bed. The location overlooking the River Dart is beautiful. I enjoyed my short stay with my dog, and liked that there is a secure decorative fence around the property which kept him safe.

We've just enjoyed a lovely stay at Castaway. One of the most enviable positions on the site with a wonderful spacious patio and view. Chalet is comfortable and light with good facilities. Smart TV and WiFi included. The heating was very welcome for the time of year. Would definitely stay again.

Spent a relaxing week at Castaway. Very comfortable and everything you could need was available.
Visited lots of places during the week and it was always lovely to come back and look out at the beautiful view..Would have no hesitation in booking again...in fact I have booked again.

We’ve stayed in Castaway several times and love the bungalow, its location and the lovely views.
It’s always spotless and has everything we need for a relaxing break in an area that affords the opportunity to do as much or as little as you like when visiting.
The communication from Coast Holiday Homes is excellent and I’d highly recommend them.

A superb bungalow, kept in tip top condition. Feels like home from home. Lots of extras to make your stay so special. Lovely setting overlooking the River Dart. We love it!

Very nicely furnished, warm and cosy property. The Dart river view was completely obscured by trees on the adjacent caravan site even in late October which was unfortunate but not the owners fault. We appreciated the proper light bulbs, no 40w low energy roaming in the gloaming which you often find in holiday cottages - thank you. Our only complaint would be that the DVD player on the TV was faulty so we couldn't watch films in the evening, which was disapointing. Also the mixer tap in the bathroom was very difficult to operate without soaking everybody and everything. Nerertheless overall a very nice holiday cottage which we would recommend.

Thank you for your feedback on the couple of areas you found not up to standard - unfortunately, we were not aware the DVD player wasn't working but we are pleased to report a brand new TV with DVD player is now being installed, thank you for letting us know. We are also pleased to confirm that the hedges have been trimmed back, fully exposing that wonderful river view, I'm afraid this is out of our control but generally, the hedges are kept well trimmed year round and it is unusual for them to have obscured the view - I am sorry this wasn't the case for your visit. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay overall and we do hope we can welcome you back to stay at Castaway soon...please also remember, we are based in the village, so should you find anything not working during your stay in the future, please do not hesitate to give us a call and we can pop up to provide you with a replacement. We very much enjoyed our stay at Castaway. The bungalow was well equipped and the the recliner chairs were really welcome.
The views of the river were lovely from the decking. Very much enjoyed visiting Berry head hotel for meals out which is just a stones throw and The Manor pub in the village. All in all a good holiday.
