Thank you so much firstly to Katie from coast holiday homes. She was absolutely lovely with great communication, giving us wonderful recommendations and assistance during our stay. She was on hand (even when I think she was probably off work with suggestions and help and we so appreciated this)
Our stay in Linhay was so memorable. We had car trouble on our first day of the trip and thought we would be stranded but thanks to the kindness and sheer generosity of the owner, Paul, he made sure we still had a successful stay and allowed us to insure ourselves on one of his own cars. We were also able to stay some extra nights while we waited to get our own car back.
(Katie also very kindly offered to drive over with supplies for us if we needed them)
Such genuine, kind people who just wanted to help us.
Onto the cottage. It was so special! Inside was spotlessly clean and so charming. There was a lovely welcome hamper and plenty of logs and kindling for the fire. It was so cosy and the beds were extremely comfortable. We didn’t have the weather but it didn’t matter as the cottage was so comfortable and quiet it was nice to settle down in the living room with the fire on most evenings. There are such lovely bits of art and collectibles around the cottage which are lovely to look at and give it a really thoughtful, homely feel. Even though the location is tucked away as long as you have a car you are really close to some great areas. Totnes is 10mins drive away and has some gorgeous independent shops and cafes. Then Paignton pier at night was fun for the children to go to the amusements and have fish and chips. You’re also not too far from Torquay, Dartmouth and many other attractions. Many of which we hope to visit again in summer time when the weather is a bit better.
Thank you so much again to Katie and Paul.
What could have a been a pretty dreadful situation was made into a lovely family trip with the kindness of Paul and the help of Katie.
Would absolutely reccomend this cottage to anyone, thank you again.

The cottage It is in a nice rural setting with an amazing view from the lounge across the country side .
We found nice local pubs -with excellent food and drinks , a very short drive away.
We had a very nice traditional Sunday lunch at the church house inn- licensed since 1316 .. in addition we had a special dinner on Monday night.
The cotton inn in Darlington since 1320 it’s an extra special place , the history of the place ,
Beatriz and Paul.

We had a wonderful time staying in this fabulous thatched cottage. Paul and his family made us feel very welcome. Our 3 year old didn’t want to leave at the end of our 7 night stay. Location is ideal for exploring any of the towns in and around Torbay. We can recommend Pennywell Farm, Kent’s Cavern and the Dartmouth Steam Railway as great days out. Plenty of supermarkets within a 10 minute drive.

We had a lovely weekend in the cottage in September, it was our first time away with our new baby and we felt at home straight away. The cottage was absolutely beautiful, the interior was beautifully furnished, lovely and clean, and had everything you could need. The bed was so comfy as well!
We had such a warm welcome from the owners and the welcome package was a lovely touch. We will definitely be retuning!

Our stay at the Old Linhay was nothing short of perfect. The host was very helpful and was able to answer any questions we had.
Everything is catered for within the cottage, whether that is fresh bread, milk and cheese on arrival to logs for the fire. We loved it that much we have already booked again for 2024
