Having stayed at 2 other Villas 2 Let properties before this one, we had an idea of what to expect. It's important to say that we were satisfied with our experience and would certainly choose to stay at Talia again before the review, just to make sure there's no misunderstanding! The villa was the perfect size for our family of four and allowed us to enjoy our time there without disappointment. We love the central location, in terms of access to Protaras, local beaches and restaurants and the supermarkets in Paralimni.

But the differences in standards between Talia and the others were also noticeable. There was a difference in how well appointed the villa was as well as the quality of the furnishings and kitchen ware etc. Whilst there was no shortage of plates, bowls and cutlery the kitchen was lacking in general cooking ware. What was present was tired and of low quality. Whereas previous villas had at least 1 built in barbeque and all the cooking accessories associated with that, Talia had a very old barbeque base, with a grill plate from a different unit and no sort of equipment to cook in the grill, a really surprising shortcoming. The sofa was incredibly uncomfortable for more than a short time and also very tired.

As someone who likes to save energy wherever possible (we didn't use the A C while we were there) I liked the idea of a power switch that uses a key on the same fob as the house key forcing everything to be off where you go out - but the power remains on for the sockets (like the TV) but off for things like the dishwasher, meaning that if you put the dishwasher on and leave the villa, it powers off as soon as you remove that key - surely this could've been better thoughts out?

The beds were comfortable but the duvets and pillows were really the cheapest polyester variety available and very poor. In such a warm climate there are countless better choices, removing it and using just the sheets was the only solution but those pillows were still a struggle.

It might be that we were just spoiled by our previous villas experiences - the last one in the same complex as Talia - and we would definitely stay there again but my honest feeling is that the owner would not need to spend a lot of money to greatly improve the guest experience, that they haven't in so many areas is disappointing and points to a personal policy of zero investment, which isn't a good look. Other shortcomings include a few too many black hairs around the inside, logically following visits from the cleaners in-between occupancies, details that could easily be fixed with little time and a vacuum cleaner.

Worth mentioning is that the location and aspect of the pool and sunbeds is very good compared to other villas, enjoying sun for much of the day that warms the pool nicely and means you don't have to frequently move the sunbeds to stay in the sun, which we did have to contend with previously. Other villas have pools with little to no sunlight resulting in a rather cold pool experience!

everything was nice and in good condition except for the below points:

we had to change all batteries for all air conditioning units and the TV
the curtains need washing
the gray sofa in the sitting area needs cleaning and not comfortable at all. Also it is torn
the wine glasses in the kitchen cupboards were not clean, we had to wash them all over again
the gray covers of the garden furniture were dirty
