Lovely, quiet and picturesque location. Accommodation is great with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The folder located inside had some fab suggestions for pubs, restaurants and walks. All in all, a great stay!

We stayed in the adjacent barn two years ago however, due to an inquiry, were unable to do the walking we thought we would be able to do when booked. This time though we were able to take advantage of the many local walks and they did not disappoint. In addition the barn was excellent in all areas, very well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We will no doubt return i the future.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Holstocks. We requested a cot and high chair at the booking stage for our 2yr old, both of which were provided and proved to be absolutely perfect. We were also travelling with our cocker spaniel, who enjoyed running around the grounds and taking a hike up Barrow Hill, which affords magnificent views of the barns and the surrounding area. The barns are beautifully decorated and situated in a stunning part of Hampshire. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked and the open plan living space is just wonderful. Only one very minor issue was that the TV needed to be manually connected to the internet each time you wanted to watch Netflix, but once we realised this, it was easy to overcome. Would highly recommend Barrow Hill Barns and we hope to return next summer. Thank you for such a great stay.

Cottage is perfect, very comfortable, a good base for an autumn break. Lots to do nearby, plenty of dog friendly places to eat and walk. This was a 6th visit to Barrow Hill Barns and it never disappoints. We will return!!

My husband and I needed a place to stay after our home purchase fell through

The location is extraordinary, majestic views, the way the cottages are connected but have their own singular view of the countryside is wonderful

We have two dogs, they have had the time of their life trying out the variety of walks from the barns - so many choices. The layout of the cottage works perfectly for a home from home stay - all modern appliances provided

If you wanted to be sure that your holiday time will be a success as let’s face it, we don’t get much of it… stress not, this whole family business is run beautifully

Bramley products in the bathroom, quality washing machine tablets, dishwasher tablets etc all provided - internet speedy and all the usual channels and hosting like Netflix available instantly

This place is ideal for couples romantic stays, family get togethers (using their cow shed for group suppers) and exclusive use for whole events like retreats…the cow shed would be ideal for a yoga retreat - it’s a gift of a place

This was our 5th(?) time staying in Holstocks and it never disappoints. It's a home from home but a lot quieter! Rob couldn't be more helpful and is always on hand. We love it there and are already planning our next visit.
The only reason we dropped a point for "comfort" is because we are both quite tall and the settees are quite low so difficult for us oldies to get up from - but that's a personal thing and nobody's fault.

Had a great stay, great local walks and pubs nearby (after a walk). Only issue is we couldn’t let our dog - a small pug outside alone as there is a 5 bar gate that leads into the next property. She could get around the fence and under it too. For a property that is supposed to be enclosed for dogs this is my only complaint. Wasn’t relaxing to let her out for a pee without a lead as she did wander to next door at points.

This was our fourth stay at Barrow Hill Barns and first at the Hollstocks accommodation . It was lovely , enclosed garden which was great for dog and gets the sun for most of the day . So quiet and lovely walks on the doorstep . The accommodation is of a very high standard and equipped with everything needed . Will definitely be back .

Comfortable and attractive ‘cottage’ . The enclosed garden and hard floors were practical for our dog. Holstocks is in a great location - very peaceful but close to a wide range of attractions and walking opportunities. Our only slight niggle was a shortage of crockery and serving dishes which meant we used the dishwasher more than we would have liked and quite a few cobwebs and fluff under furniture were evident. Despite that we had an enjoyable break.

Stunning location with multiple walks from the door. Probably one of the cleanest dog friendly cottages we have ever stayed in. Blissfully quiet area and very comfortable high quality furnishing. We would love to stay again.

This barn is set amidst quite a few other cottages probably in the best spot if you don’t want to be overlooked, however when we were there we had a party celebrating a birthday and they made quite a lot of noise until the wee early hours, so if you’re looking for seclusion this is not for you.
On the positive side the cottage/barn has everything you need to enjoy a home away from home, brilliant shower, ceramic hob and a full sized fridge/freezer and extremely fast broadband considering you can see cows in the fields around, overall good to superb depending on your fellow guests.
Would we stay again. YES ….

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barrow Barns. Holstocks was well equipped and beautiful throughout. A lovely big bed and en-suite. The garden was secure and absolutely perfect for our dogs. The warm water dog wash was also much appreciated! There are plenty of beautiful walk making it a perfect location. We would definitely visit again.

We've stayed five times now over recent years, only missing out during Covid. Never any problems. The only reason for giving a "4" for location is that the pub is a short drive away. Otherwise all excellent.

This was the third time we have stayed in Holstocks. It’s ideal for us as it has an enclosed garden for our large, over friendly dog.
The accommodation is spotlessly clean with excellent facilities (and lovely and warm) and Rob is always on hand for any questions or concerns.
We’ve just booked to go back in the Summer - can’t wait!!

The Barn we stayed in was very well equipped, as it appeared were all the others, and in a great location. The site is well set out, very well maintained and quiet. Holstocks had an enclosed Garden/outdoor area which was ideal for our dogs, who also enjoyed a walk in the Paddock and the local area. Access is via a narrow country lane so care is required but not a problem. The South Downs and South coast are within 30 mins drive.
We would definitely consider Barrow Hill Barns when we next visit the area and would recommend to others.

Second visit to these barns. They are superb! We have had an amazing time with our two chihuahuas in Holstocks. They are in a beautiful location with easy access to visit line New Forest and beyond. We even had a day trip to the IOW. We shall DEFINITELY return.

We have stayed in various properties in the UK with our dog and Barrow Hill Barns is now up there at the top!
The barns are situated In a beautiful, peaceful location. The furnishings and items supplied far exceeded our expectations.
We loved the warm Dog Wash Station. Such great attention to detail.
The communication from Rob was excellent, providing lots of information about the local area.
We can’t wait to return.
It is such a beautiful part of the country and Barrow Hill Barns is in a perfect location for exploring.

Barrow Hill Barns is a welcoming retreat.
Away from the hustle and bustle of life. A place to stay off the beaten track, but easily accessible. The accommodation was first class, modern kitchen with all facilities. Lounge area:- very comfortable. Bedroom, en suite:- superb king size bed giving a great night’s sleep and a wet room shower that was perfect. This was our second visit. We thoroughly recommend Barrow Hill Barns!

Absolutely superb: the barn was extremely well-equipped for an enjoyable stay (whenever I wondered whether something had been supplied, such as BBQ tools, I opened a drawer and there it was) and the location is excellent. We found the barn to be very clean and comfortable, and the management is very responsive and helpful. Having newly discovered this place, we are already thinking ahead to our next stay and will be recommending Barrow Hill Barns to family and friends.

We loved our stay at Holstocks; Providing an open plan, modern & comfortable living area with clever use of space and also a heap of traditional comfort. It was very private and we enjoyed taking a break in the garden, looking at the views of the downs.
Also convenient for walking (we loved our morning walks up Barrow Hill) and local pubs, with Petersfield and the Supermarkets just 3 miles away. There was no negative to our stay!

We sincerely hope we will be back before too long!

Holstocks Barn was a delight, comfortable, clean and in a great location.
Ideal for visiting the South Downs National Park area along with the beautiful NT and English Heritage properties.
The village of Ramsdean has no shopping facilities, a small farm shop selling local produce, eggs, milk etc would have been useful.

We had a great stay here despite Storm Eunice. The bed was super comfortable, the barn was warm and very clean, Rob was really helpful. The WiFi was very good. The key safe outside made check in and out really easy.

The kitchen had almost everything we needed, I couldn't find any scissors but everything else was there. There was milk, biscuits and juice left for us which we appreciated. The list of what was there that we were sent with the booking was super helpful.

My only slight caveats are that the lighting in the living area was all overhead spots which I find a bit headache inducing, a couple of softer lamps would have been nice, and it's not the most eco friendly place. But these would not stop me going back. It's a very nice place to stay overall and I would definitely recommend it.

The barns are finished to a high standard, very comfortable, well equipped & in a beautiful setting which is all so well maintained. The Hypnos bed was so comfortable, the under floor heating worked well to keep the cottage warm throughout our January stay & both the kitchen & bathroom were really very nice. The outside dog wash station is a big bonus!!

We had a lovely time at Holstocks for the xmas period. Rob was so incredibly helpful and quick to respond with any question/query we had.
The barns are in a great location, short drive to plenty of shops and pubs. Also really nice walks in the area and they even provide well mapped out directions.
The barn was very clean and had everything we needed. The shower had really good power which is always a big plus!
Only thing I would say is some of the decor and furniture is a bit outdated, the sofa was very stained and needs a thorough clean along with the rug in the living room. But nothing to ruin our stay.
We will definitely be back and hopefully try one of the other barns next time. Thanks!

Barrow Hill Barns is the perfect location for a restful break.
We stayed at Holstocks. Perfect for a couple.
Holstocks was luxurious and very practical with all the amenities you need.
It was furnished to a very high standard. The king size bed was very comfortable ensuring a good sleep.
The Barns are set in a stunning area of the South Downs, far enough off the beaten track to be very peaceful
but not too far away from interesting places to visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our late Summer break. We hope to return in the future.

Great little cottage in middle of nowhere. If you want peace it’s great, if you want pubs/shops etc locally this is not for you, they are only a short drive away though.
We wanted peace so it was ideal as we had busy days.
Covid measures ideal.
Would certainly stay again for sure.

Holstocks was a truly lovely place to stay. Every comfort catered for and walking directly from the door. Plenty of space for the dog to run safely and all the inside and outside spaces were immaculately kept.
We will go back here next year as it nice to know that this is a place where we can relax with our dog.

Wow I just love this place! Amazing stay once again. It’s absolutely beautiful here and so peaceful with the options to go for some lovely country walks if that’s your thing or pop to the local town which is a super short drive away.
They are also dog friendly so that’s a huge win for us. The owners are very kind and helpful and I truly believe would do anything for you if needs be.
Highly recommend & we will be returning again soon.

The barn was lovely, it was extremely well equipped, a great layout and the bed was very comfortable. There was lots of storage space and it was clear that a great deal of thought had gone into providing everything that was needed by the guests. There was just one negative point, my wife has stiffness in her legs and she had a problem in getting up from the low toilet seat. The scenery around the barns is very picturesque and we had a lovely stay.

The barns here are lovely. Just a couple points I would make; usually 2 nights means a 3 day stay but sadly as you cannot check in until 4pm and you are reminded to leave promptly at 10.00am this meant we only had one full day. For £600 this was expensive. You then have to strip the beds and empty all bins yourself. I wouldn’t probably do another short stay and 4-5 nights might work out better value

Great accommodation and surroundings. Really enjoyed our stay together with other members of our family in Long Meadow and didn’t want to leave. Everyone really friendly and the lady in the adjacent cottage gave us a pretty vase of sweet pea and lavender which was such a friendly and kind gesture and really appreciated. Excellent - would definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending.

We booked a week at very late notice so we hadn’t done any research before we got there we just thought the pictures looked lovely. The location is down a lot of very narrow winding roads but the beauty of that is you can sit on the patio and just listen to the birds because you’re not being disturbed by traffic all the time. Our barn was particularly good as it is tucked away in a corner so the garden is nice and private and south facing so very sunny, if you have got dogs it is worth noting that the garden isn’t fully enclosed so you probably will have to keep your dog on the lead to stop it wandering into next doors garden. The owners kindly provided us with a parasol when requested and we were able to help ourselves to one of the very good quality barbecues available.
Accommodation itself has been beautifully done with good quality furnishings and appliances. The toilet is provided are also very nice quality. There is a lot of walking on the doorstep and all of the barns are beautifully located within huge grounds and fields with loads of parking. The local information folder provided was really helpful, particularly with regard to local walking routes. It was all that we would’ve expected from a premium cottage. We would very much like to return at some point.

We just got back from Barrow Hill Barns and we had the best week away. We were very lucky with the weather. It was perfectly sunny everyday and having the southwest facing garden, we had the sun streaming in until 7pm every night. There were a bunch of walks right on the doorstep and our dog Ralph loved the byway just to the side of the barns where we got to pick wild garlic for our dinner. Rob was great at communication and we absolutely loved our stay. I’ve already started looking at booking one of their villas again.

We feel that we were extremely fortunate to find this place to stay . With the prospect of an obligatory two week self isolation period of time over Christmas en route from France we chose this cottage , and cannot recommend it enough .
Rob , the owner , is a very kind person who went out of his way to help ys in any way needed .
The accomodation was perfect in EVERY way .......... clean , modern , comfortable , warm ....... I cannot fault it or our host in any way .
We will return here in the future and wish Rob and his team every continued success in the future .

Lovely, spacious accommodation. Bed was super comfy. Quality towels and bed linen, as you would expect in a 5 star rated property. Views across the road to fields and trees, saw deer roaming every morning and lots of pheasants (they even ventured onto our patio area). Great pubs in walking distance although would only recommend doing so in the dry, and during daylight hours. Walks from the door, and Queen Elizabeth country park just a few miles drive away for walks and cycling trails.
There was no throw on the sofa as shown in website photos, COVID measure maybe, taken too far in my opinion. Would have been appreciated now autumn is well and truly here. Would also have appreciated some milk in the fridge. Have self catered for many years and never had this before - there has always been a pint of milk or a small jug of milk. It’s nice to arrive, unload the car and then chill with a cuppa after the journey. Teabags, coffee and sugar were supplied. Would happily return, with throw from home and ensuring I bought some milk once close to arriving.

We spent 2 nights here at Barrow Hill barns and were so impressed with everything. The cottage was immaculate and the team had thought of everything to make our stay more comfortable. Wonderful setting, stylish decor, great quality fittings; everything included for a great getaway, whether as a base to visit places nearby or just to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Beautiful walks and two lovely cosy pubs within (long leisurely) walking distance...great to take the dogs & relax by the fire.
We stayed while helping my daughter move houses...I’m really looking forward to going back as soon as possible just to relax!
