After many stays at BHB we have never been disappointed. It is a home away from home for us - meticulously run, extremely comfortable and in a magical position overlooking the South Downs. Even the farm's cows came to say hello to us.

This was our fifth stay at Barrow Hill Barns (in 3 different properties) as Ramsdean is ideally situated for seeing family in Kent and West Sussex. Most importantly, it offers a perfect base for walking and cycling in the beautiful South Downs, going to the coast and the Isle of Wight, plus visiting Portsmouth, Chichester and Winchester. Afterwards one can retreat to the tranquillity of the little hamlet and the Barns with their wonderful vistas over the meadows to the hills.

The Barns are built to top specification with high quality fixtures and fittings. We have been in August, September and March and the properties are extremely comfortable in all seasons with good heating in the chilly weather and patios outside the huge trifold doors for warmer days. The beds are huge and extremely comfortable with good quality bedding; the showers are powerful and the towels in the bathrooms are big and soft.

Dogs are welcome and there is even an external warm water dog wash near the Reception!

Rob answers messages quickly and a very helpful and comprehensive list of what is provided in the property is sent in advance.

All in all highly recommended.

Love this place. Extremely comfortable and clean, well equipped - and with views I could look at forever. On top of that, plenty to do within a short drive. Closest town is Petersfield - about 10 mins drive away. Great town, good selection of shops, as well as several take always and restaurants/pubs.

This was the 6th time we have stayed at Barrow Hill Barns. It always feels like coming home and we hope to be back very soon!

We really enjoyed our stay it was perfect for our needs, however a few things would have made life easier. Considering dogs are allowed I am surprised that there was no fence around our patio area to keep the dog in. I knew this beforehand so I went prepared but he did wonder off when my son was supposed to be watching him.
The other issue, which I thought was compulsory, was there were no instruction books for the appliances. We never did get the coffee machine to work and going by the number of pods in the tray no one else did either. The microwave I could not get to work and in the end set the clock which then let me cook! The kettle did not switch off once boiled and the cooker beeped all the time and I never did find out why.
We did 2 of the walks, the first and second one. The first was great, which we did twice. Walk 2 I think has some mistakes in it. It was up Butser Hill and it would have helped to say turn right at the top rather than walk to the tree, which I could not see and walked the wrong way. It also said to turn left at the top after this and I think it should have been right.

Our second visit to Barrow Hill Barns, although our first in Long Meadow. We booked both Long Meadow and Orchard for a weekend to celebrate our Golden Wedding with our sons and families. Both of the barns did not disappoint, we were all really impressed and enjoyed a wonderful weekend of some quality family time together, including a Sunday afternoon game of croquet on the lawn, making wonderful memories!

Barrow Hill Barns was recommended by a friend and we really enjoyed our stay there - in both Long Meadow and The Hide. The property is tucked away on a country lane and each cottage faces a different direction, which makes it feel very private. The view from Long Meadow is exactly that and can be enjoyed outside on the patio or inside from the living/dining room. The cottage has a great layout with an open kitchen/dining/living area and each bedroom having an en suite and closet space. There were plenty of walks from the property and many more shared in the information pack. Rob was very responsive and flexible around our changeover day, when we moved in The Hide. This was a much cosier, wild experience - with an inside fire and outside tub. Both properties were clean, comfortable and with character. We would definitely recommend Barrow Hill Barns for a short or longer stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying again at Barrow Hill Barns in the UK, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. A wonderful grouping of stylish properties in the most stunning of locations.

We have stayed in three different barns and find them spacious, well equipped and very comfortable.

Rob himself could not be more helpful and efficient. We will definitely return.

We were impressed with this barn for our short stay. Not so much a barn, by the way as a purpose built holiday let. Staying in "Long Meadow" we were impressed at the way the site is arranged so that we were not very conscious of the other buildings in the development although they are quite close. Looking at the eponymous meadow through the large window/bifold doors, we didn't see the other barns and it was easy not to notice them even from the patio outside.

There are only two of us so we found this accommodation very roomy for a short stay - nice to have a bathroom each. The heating was effective and unobtrusive and the thermostat controls were excellent.

We stayed in order to visit places in the area and found we were easily able to drive to Chichester, West Dean, Jane Austen’s house, Hinton Ampner and Petworth.

Barrow Hill Barns offer a number of very nice cottage for a short or long stay. We stayed for a week and enjoyed the location very much. A very decent sized kitchen with a breakfast table and sitting area. Two sleeping rooms with private bathroom. Not much more to be desired.

Close enough to Petersfield whilst still being completely free in the countryside. The little roads to the location are the typical English country roads, barely wide enough for one vehicle and prone to be flooded but hey, how nice to travel them.

We do not want to advise to also book a cottage at Barrow Hill Barns because it might be fully booked next time we want to relax and enjoy it ... so please ... leave some cottage available for us for next time we will visit.

A beautiful and spacious barn in stunning surroundings, large family group with 4 barns altogether for a family wedding close by.
The barn was very well equipped with everything you need, The outside space was really useful for all four of the barns to get together for a Family BBQ, we loved our stay and will definitely be back.
Only negative i can think of is there is so shelving space in the walk in shower for shampoo etc. New modern decor with no practical resting space for your bits and bobs :-)

Our second visit to Barrow Hill Barns and again, not disappointed. Well-appointed kitchen, clean and comfortable bedrooms, very easy to relax from the moment we arrived. Set in fantastic and well-maintained grounds, great for the kids and the dog to explore in a safe environment. Convenient location, 30-minute trips to Winchester Science Centre, Go Ape, Portsmouth Dockyard, etc.
Definitely recommend and will return.

This was our first visit to Barrow Farm barns and we stayed at Long Meadow with its lovely view. This is a thoughtfully designed conversion with a high standard of fittings and fixtures. In the kitchen, for instance, Robert Welch cutlery, Dualit toaster, induction hob and oven and ample crockery, glasses and cooking pots and pans, not just the minimum for four guests.
It was spotlessly clean throughout and the walk in showers were a joy, especially having a little built in niche to place your own toiletries and sponges. Having said that you will will enjoy the generous provision of bodywash, handwash by the basin, shampoo and conditioner not just small sample sizes. There were also plentiful towels including lovely big bath sheets.
The "extras" also stretched to items I normally take with me - cling film, foil, tea towels, plentiful dishwasher and laundry tablets and kitchen roll.
So they have gone the extra mile. The location is peaceful and scenic and very handy for a wide range of day trips or simply walking in the surrounding area. And Rob was on the other end of the phone to help if needed.

I loved the view of the South Downs National Park from our cottage. It was tranquil and overawed by the natural landscape. The facilities were outstanding with good kitchen equipment and spacious living spaces. Great proximity to Petersfield with farmers markets and top supermarkets.

Excellent stay at Barrow Hill Barns. We rented two barns for a slightly larger getaway and had a fabulous time. The location was perfect, close enough to Petersfield for amenities but totally quiet and peaceful surroundings allowing us to totally switch off. It was a beautiful location for a walk and the area around the barns was a beautiful place to be able to relax in. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. They were even kind enough to allow a late check out which let us really make the most of the sunshine. Thanks so much and we hope to seee you again soon.

Booking with Barrow Hill Barns was very straight forward and very informative.
We stayed in the Long Meadows the accommodation was immaculate, comfortable and had everything that we wanted.
We walked in Long Meadows front door into the kitchen/ dining/ lounge opened the bifold doors
Onto the patio where there was comfortable L shaped garden furniture with table the view was breath taking and plenty of meadow to play games on.
The kitchen had everything that you needed down to washing up liquid / dishwasher tablets / tea towels also had large fridge /freezer and instructions how to use the appliances.
The washer/dryer was in a cupboard with ironing board /iron.
The two bedrooms was immaculate and very comfortable, both bedrooms had en-suites which had toiletries supplied.
The location was easy reach to the places we wanted to go, would recommend the Five Bells pub and restaurant in the town of Petersfield called La Piazzetta the food is outstanding!
We used our E-bikes which we glad of as it can be hilly however our friends had push bikes and was still able to enjoy the bike rides that we had.
We would recommend visiting Queens Elizabeth National Park your could ride for miles !!!!
We loved our stay and will definitely returning and will be recommending it to family and friends

We had a wonderful week at Barrow Hill Barns at Ramsdean. Longmeadow was very comfortable and clean with everything we could possibly need for a week’s self catering holiday, from a well set up kitchen to washer dryer, iron and ironing board and an excellent television to watch the Coronation. The surrounding countryside was beautiful and we had great constantly changing views across the South Downs from the living area. Although there are no shops or restaurants/pubs in the village, the Seven Stars at Stroud, the Ye Olde George plus a general store at East Meon and many shops and supermarkets at Petersfield are just a few minutes away. Lots of great tourist attractions are a short drive, eg Portsmouth with its Historic Dock Precinct, the Weald and Downland Living Museum, and several National Trust properties such as Hinton Ampner. Ramsdean is also a great area for walking. We also enjoyed the opportunity to meet some of the locals at a Coronation Tea Party held at Barrow Hill Barns on the Coronation weekend.

We used Barrow Hill Barns as our base for our 3 week holiday, staying for a few days at a time between visits elsewhere. Each time we returned it was like coming home. Such a perfect cottage in a perfect location. We’re already planning our next trip and will definitely be staying back at Barrow Hill.

The accommodation is spacious and wonderfully comfortable with an enviable view of the South Downs. Cooking facilities are adequate for light lunches and suppers and it is within easy access to lovely walks, pubs and National Trust properties. Information about this is included with the booking. Absolutely loved Long Meadow. Took my mum who has mobility issues and it was completely accessible for her and her walker. Views to die for, peaceful, lovely walks and the most comfy bed.
Long Meadow was spotlessly clean, soft fluffy towels, luxurious bedding and all dog friendly too!
One issue was noisy water heater in the night, but I’m sure this will be rectified.
My only gripe is that I can’t live here full time.

We spent New year with friends at long meadow .
It was a home from home ,warm , comfortable and an amazing comfy bed .
A Christmas tree had been put up which made us all feel festive.
Great location with good pubs with food nearby.
After being let down last minute by a hotel booking in London,
we all agreed that our new year eves celebrations in a comfy barn were a far better way to celebrate together.

We had a perfect 3 night stay in Long Meadow. I picked it as my elderly mum was staying with us. The barn was very accessible and so comfortable. The area was so peaceful and other visitors at the time were quiet and courteous so it was ideal for our needs. We didn’t have a car with us the whole time but could use local taxis easily to get to town and the station to return home. Rob kept in touch well before our visit and answered any questions I had. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return! 5/5 from us

This is our second stay at Barrow Hill Barns and we absolutely love the location of the barns. We stayed in Long Meadow which is well equipped and extremely comfortable for having a break away with friends and 2 dogs. I stayed at Long Meadow barn for 3 nights with my husband and friends. Booking procedure was straight forward and quick. Arrival instructions were clear and concise.

We found the accommodation to be very clean, well maintained, and very well equipped with everything you could wish for. The location was perfect for a quiet short break with plenty of places to visit within an easy drive. The recommendations of places to vist and places to eat were perfect.

We stayed in Long Meadow which had stunning views out to the field. The properties are beautifully designed and have all the amenities needed for a holiday home. Contactless check in was very easy and everything self explanatory. Lovely peaceful location with lots to do nearby. Highly recommend.

If I had to criticise one tiny thing, the fridge could have done with a clean as was a little dirty inside, but not a big deal. Everything else perfect.

The barn was easy to find and positioned in the countryside. Long Meadow Barn was clean and very well kept. All towels and toiletries provided. Lots of storage space in the bedrooms and loved the walk-in wardrobe and walk-in showers. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Having a washing machine/tumble dryer was very useful. The bi-fold doors opened straight onto the patio with beautiful views over the fields and was extremely peaceful. Walks are available from the barn and would highly recommend Butser Hill and Grandfather's bottom. Lots more walks in the area. Even though there were people staying in the other cottages we didn't really see or hear anyone. Would definitely recommend this property and would love to visit again.

We stayed as a group for my Nieces 1st wedding anniversary(we stayed last year for her wedding).
Accommodation is fab and relaxing, beautiful scenery.
We even did a walk down the track/lane that runs alongside the barns to one of the local pubs.
We also visited sky park dear farm for breakfast(which was loverly) and payed to go into the park which was very reasonable and was able to feed the deer.
Would definitely stay again in the future.

4th time staying at this location. Very clean and tidy, everything you could possibly need is in the property. Beds comfortable. Our 3 dogs love the place. Saw Red Kites, Hare and Rabbits. A deer visited the wild area in the garden every evening. Such a lovely place and so quiet. Highly recommended. Lots of lovely walks from the property. The coast is easily reached and the beach at West Wittering was fab and loved by the dogs. Thorney Island is another great place for a walk, approximately 8 miles round, no cars and no people when we walked it on the Sunday morning.

What a beautiful place to stay if you want a chilled out holiday in beautiful countryside. The barn was lovely and had the best position and views. The beds were so comfortable, and it was so dark and quiet and night that we slept really well.

Very well looked after by Rob, who was also very quick to reply to any queries.

Very dog friendly but we noticed that other guests with dogs were not so conscientious about picking up any mess ! Our dog loved the location and the space.

The barn was very clean clean apart from some cobwebs around the ceiling edges and cobwebs and dirt along the track of the bi-fold doors. We had to get the hoover out to clean the track as it was quite bad. That’s the only reason I have given the score of 4 instead of 5.

All in all I would recommend this accommodation particularly if you want peace and quiet, walking or cycling.

We had a very good week in Long Meadow. We have been to lots of self catering cottages/barns and this was one of the best for fixtures and fittings and lots of storage and wonderful bedrooms and bathrooms. Although it is one of the best it is also the most expensive.

We hired 5 cottages in total. Arriving at the barns we were blown away at home beautiful they looked. All the cottages are in short walking distance from each other and perfect for a large group booking. The cottages were modern with that traditional charm. Fully stocked with everything we needed. This is our third stay at Barrow Hill Barns and our first time in Long Meadow. The view from the tri-fold doors is stunning.

The quality of the fixtures and fittings is extremely high and every need has been catered for.

The beds are huge and very comfortable; the closets and storage space superb with built in lights.

The living space is spacious and comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. All the appliances are good quality.

The cupboard housing the washing machine and heating is ideal for drying clothes.

We highly recommend Long Meadow Barns for the accommodation and, of course, for the location in the beautiful South Downs National Park.

We had a wonderful time at Barrow Hill Barns. The first class accommodation situated in beautiful countryside made an ideal place for our family to be together and yet have space to relax. The whole set up is geared towards a no stress, comfortable experience. The beds are huge!
It is ideally situated for rural activities, places of historical interest, children's activities and of course retail therapy in nearby Portsmouth.

If you want to stay in a stylish, spacious accommodation then this is the place for you. The barns are extremely well equipped and the furnishings tasteful. Bedding, beds and towels are excellent. There are many walks around the barns all of which are in the barn information booklet.

Barrow Hill Barns in set in the countryside. Although we were surrounded by beautiful countryside, we were not too far from local shops and places to eat. We stayed in the Meadow View cottage and it was perfect. The owners had clearly put a lot of thought into what was provided within the accommodation. Everything we needed was within the cottage. The team were very responsive to any questions we had pre arrival and during our stay. I would highly recommend this accommodation. We are already planning our return visit.

My wife has always been fussy about holiday lets and after some 50 years of hiring cottages several times a year for holidays and family reunions we have can speak from experience. Long Meadow in particular and Barrow Hill Barns in general are just about the ideal combination of great design, thoughtful fitting out and location.

The cottage had two excellent sized bedrooms each with super king beds. The bedding was very high quality and the mattresses just the right level of firmness. The showers were superb and thoughtful touches such as USB sockets by the bedside tables really appreciated.

The living area was a great size, the bi-fold doors opened out onto a decent sized patio and the view was superb. The smart TV was a decent size and the couches comfortable.

The kitchen was well equipped with a bit of class where it really matters (loved the four slice Dualit toaster guys).

My wife's only gripe (which she has had about virtually every holiday let we have ever had) was the lack of a mirror next to a power socket. Trying to use a hair dryer without a mirror is a struggle.

From my perspective the fact that there was only one EV charge point was a little frustrating - there were several BEV's on site when we stayed so an extra charge point and maybe a sign asking other car users not to block the charge points would help.

We have stayed at Barrow Hill Barns a few times now and it never fails to impress. The quality of the barns and their furnishings is top class. There is everything you could possibly need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
It is utopia if your have four legged friends as the surrounding countryside, so easily accessible, is a veritable playground, acres and acres with lots of lovely smells to investigate.
If you want somewhere to just kick back and chill this is it ! Will be going again very soon. Thanks to Rob and the team excellent customer service as always.

Everything within Barrow Hill Barns is of an extremely high standard and makes it a perfect holiday destination. The location is great for both long and short walks with the dogs and we the close-by town of Petersfield had everything we needed. The hosts are extremely helpful and very responsive to any questions. Grounds are very well kept and the gardens were great for the dogs to play. Kitchen very well equipped, beds super-comfy and all appliances fab. A truly great holiday home…we will definitely visit again.

Great outdoor views and plenty of space for the dogs to run around in and great size TV but we were disappointed with the cottage itself.

The kitchen supplies e.g cutlery, mugs etc were left dirty, toilet brushes were going rusty on the handles and the bathroom drains created awful smells especially during the night and the master bedroom beds were uncomfortable which we definitely wasn’t expecting.

We also could tell they hadn’t done much with the cottages since they’ve been closed the past year which was disappointing for the price that was charged.

Whilst we was there we had a few days of sunshine but even the cooler days we struggled with the lack of open windows and could only open the doors for air, had we known this we would’ve brought a fan with us.

Also we understand that things were going to be slightly different to usual with Covid (key safe was easy to use) but we never met or introduced to the owners at any point of the stay which would’ve been helpful for emergencies etc.

Unfortunately we won’t be visiting Barrow Hill Barns in the future.

Our 3 stay on this site and yet again it was perfect. So quiet and peaceful, maybe not the cheapest but certainly the best accommodation we have stayed in. Certainly the best sleep each night.
Will definitely be returning next year, this is our go to place.
Saw a few deer, heard some owls and saw a couple of birds of prey, I think they were buzzards!

3 nights in the barns over a Spring weekend. Lots of sunshine and long walks with the dog made it a very memorable weekend. The barn was beautiful and everything had been thought of, from the kitchen equipment to the outdoor seating and barbecue, to the Ren toiletries. We cooked a big meal and found everything we needed in the kitchen. Elsewhere the care and attention that has been put into the barns is evident. Thank you, we’ll definitely be back!

We had such a stunning stay in Long Meadow cottage. The view is so beautiful and serene, the best out of all the cottages I'd say.
The area is so tranquil. I absolutely loved going for walks along the footpaths around the area, sometimes I didn't see or hear a single other person. Very very special countryside.
The cottage is beautifully decorated and well equipped. The main bedroom and bathroom are especially spacious.
The beds, pillows and bedding are pure luxury!!!

We ended up staying at Barrow Hill Barns unexpectedly due to our boiler being broken. We were absolutely over the moon when we walked in to Long Meadow. It was warm, bright and so welcoming. The view out of the bifold doors was just amazing and it was so lovely and quiet. I cannot fault our stay and would definitely go there again.

An absolutely beautiful property. Photos don’t do it justice at all. The bedrooms are generously sized with fantastic bathrooms. The beds are the comfiest, heavy hotel like duvets. The views from the barn are incredible. Although the gardens are communal/shared, Long Meadow is the only property to back onto this area as the others have varying views. 10 minute drive to the town/supermarket and takeaways deliver so not too isolated but a really rural setting. Lots of walks recommended in the welcome book - we did one and were so pleased that the barns have a warm dog wash at reception! Seven Stars pub was lovely (& dog friendly). Half an hour walk but wouldn’t recommend at night! Would definitely look to return to Barrow Hill Barns :)

My Wife and I Stayed in Long Meadow for 3 nights 5th December 2020. We were really impressed with cottage and the beautiful views. Spotlessly clean and made us feel COVID safe. The Cottage was cozy and warm, comfortable beds and a well kitted out Kitchen with everything you would need. I can’t thank Rob and his team enough for making our weekend so brilliant, they obviously work very hard to keep the cottages in such good condition. A very comfortable and pleasant stay at the Barn
My only complaint was it was a little sparse on furniture and fittings.
One could have had more bowls and cooking utensils etc.
The heating was rather noisy and woke you in the morning which probably needed some adjustment.
The barn had beautiful open views from the main seating area which was very relaxing.
A good summer venue !!

The accommodation was very nice with everything you need in an excellent location, was disappointed that rather than the 2 car parking spaces we struggled to get one due to inconsiderate parking from other visitors and one evening came back to none due to a keep fit class. We also felt that there was a distinct lack of any kind of welcome, as key workers we are acutely aware of the pandemic, but felt the rules were delivered in a very officious manner, half way through our stay got a text literally saying hope you are enjoying your stay, make sure you leave promptly after stripping beds and emptying rubbish. We may have been spoilt by a stay in Cornwall a couple of weeks earlier where we could not have received a warmer welcome, so for that reason we would hesitate to stay again.

We booked a short break because we needed something nice to look forward too after lockdown. We wanted to find somewhere that would allow us to take our dogs but would also be of a high standard. Barrow Hill Barns certainly ticked all the boxes. The Cottages are of the highest quality they are fully equipped with everything you need for a stay away from home.

The area is beautiful and the views outstanding. Eating out was easy with local pubs offering great choice of cuisine as well as being dog friendly.

I would highly recommend Barrow Hill Barns, fantastic as a Wedding venue.

Modern property with great decor and thoughtful touches. Location is stunning and we were welcomed to a warm, comfortable home from home. Plenty of parking, we did not have time to explore the grounds or local area but there was some great information left by the hosts if you wanted to take a local walk. Beds were super comfortable.
