Perfect staycation for the two of us & 2 dogs. Great location for walks, whether you wanted to stay on site or go further afield. Peaceful given the rural location. EV charge point to ensure we were never left without electric for the vehicle. Half an hour drive from most places we wished to visit which wasn’t unreasonable. 1hr-1.5hr for further afield such as Bournemouth / Poole.
Would recommend, will definitely be back with more family to stay in the other properties.

Great location and cottage, this is our 3rd stay in the last 12 months as we have family locally. Site and facilities are great and it is easily located for access to a lot of the surrounding places and its dog friendly with lovely walks from the door around the fields belonging to the site. It is very popular and books up quickly with a high turnover of visitors which leads to rapid turnarounds and hence some of the cleaning is slipping a little, hence we have marked it down from previous 5 star reviews. Bit more attention and back to 5 stars easily

The location is splendid, with rural walks in several directions. We love the file of suggested walks, plus pubs, in the house. Redgates is beautifully designed and appointed, and makes for a really comfortable stay. Plenty of cushions and pillows, bedlinen is crisp, coffee capsules and dishwasher tablets are provided, and everything works. It is fabulously peaceful. We come every year, and fit as much walking and birdwatching in as we can. There are tiny ancient villages and also market towns nearby, there is RSPB Pulborough Brooks (the nightingales have arrived), Chichester and the coast to explore, with rolling downland views at every turn. It really is a lovely place to stay.

We have stayed in almost every barn at Barrow Hills. Each is unique and exceptional, and we cannot rate them highly enough. Redgates is ideal for a couple with a furry friend, well laid out and equipped. Can't wait to come back.

We initially booked for 5 nights and then extended which the owner discounted the nightly rate this was really appreciated.

Redgates is a great barn, really warm with under floor heating and easy to move around in, highly accessible.

The kitchen was well equipped with utensils and pans to make meals which was really convenient for us.

The sofa was too soft for us so we often found we would sink in to it and struggle to get out of it which meant we sat at the table instead, which worked for us.

The bedroom had a great large sized bed, really comfortable and the en-suite walk in shower felt really spacious.

We would highly recommend and will definitely look to book again in the future and bring some friends as there are multiple barns to rent for special occasions.

This was our second visit this year, the last in better weather in July and this time in December. The barn was warm and comfortable, easy to live in and in such a great location. The site is beautiful and lends itself to dog walks with our 2 Goldie's who also loved it here. We will be back again and can highly recommend Barrow Hill Barns as a first choice destination for this part of the country.

Would not hesitate to recommend Redgates. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, clean and well equipped. Our only comment would be is that the shower screen needs to be a bit wider as the bathroom floor gets quite wet

My wife and I have stayed at dozens of holiday rentals around the world. After staying several times at different properties at Barrow Hill I can honestly say they are still among the very best anywhere. They are all beautifully designed, constructed and finished. They are also immaculately clean and hugely comfortable and enjoyable to stay at. Rob is responsive and helpful to deal with. We are well and truly hooked.

We had a 6 night stay in Redgates at Barrow Hill Barns. Everything about the place is 5 star and the owners had gone to so much trouble to make sure everything was perfect, from the manicured lawns to the provision of basics in the cottage such as dishwasher tablets. We have rented a lot of cottages and normally the first thing we have to do is go on a shopping trip to buy toilet roll, tea bags, coffee etc. Not at Redgates! The owners clearly had thought of everything and provided all the essentials and more including coffee capsules for the coffee machine and biscuits and milk to get us started. Barrow Hill Barns are in a stunning rural location, with walks and great cycling right from the doorstep. They are also in close proximity to beautiful towns like Farnham and bigger cities like Winchester and Portsmouth. There were comprehensive guides to the local area in Redgates including detailed mapping of walks. We would not hesitate to stay there again and highly recommend the place.

It was a lovely place, tranquil setting and quiet. We had no need to contact anybody as our visit went without any problems whatsoever. The food at local pubs was excellent and all very dog friendly as advertised. We couldn’t have asked for more from our visit.

Redgates was the perfect place for us as a couple. We were lucky with the weather so enjoyed walking everyday. It was an extremely comfortable and up to date holiday cottage.We got to a pub everyday for nice meals and were mostly able to follow paths from the barns out and about. As the owners said, don't try and walk home in the evening after dark as it's hard work with a torch!! We will go back on our own or in a bigger property in a group.

Beautifully created barn conversion development with fantastic views in all directions and loads of open space and walks, all the facilities you could need and more, it was the sheer beauty of the whole development that first hit us.
The barn we stayed in was modern, comfortable, warm, well equipped and with great views, all in all it was fantastic! It was a single bedroom cottage but there was plenty of space inside and out with loads of light but at the same time very private and extremely quiet. We had two dogs with us who had ample outside safe space and there are loads of opportunities for walking from the door. For us, it will become a "go to" destination as we travel to the area a few times each year.
It has some great eating places within a few miles and Petersfield has everything and more you could want or need, the South Downs are a great place to explore and very beautiful.
Would I recommend these barns? Absolutely to everyone, if you are heading near the area you will not find better!

We have stayed at Barrow Hill Farm before and this was as good as the first time. We are near our son and daughter-in-law and love to bring our dog as well. Very friendly and welcoming. Everything clean and the bed very comfortable. I am sure we will return.

We recently had a weekend at Redgates with our 10 month old red fox lab. The cottage itself was very clean, tidy and the kitchen was well equipped. The dog washing area was very useful for all of the muddy walks. Rob was helpful and on hand to contact, we were also kindly given early checkin and late checkout. We’re already planning our next visit as our pup had the best time - Thanks again!

We had a lovely week staying at the Barrow Hill Barns. We stayed in Redgates with our two dogs. The house is set out perfectly to provide spacious and comfortable accomodation with everything we needed. The only issue we had was not being able to let the dogs free in the garden as it is not enclosed but we were able to walk them easily in the grounds.

We enjoyed exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside and particularly liked Queen Elizabeth Park and Butser Hill. Petersfield is close by for all your shopping needs.

After being recommended by our very particular neighbours, we booked Redgates at short notice. On arrival we could see why they recommended. It was immaculate, very well furnished and very peaceful. Everything we needed was there (perhaps two more mugs please?) and the very welcome fan as it was in the very hot weather. Our bed was enormous and comfortable and the shower pressure very powerful. We took a stroll round the courtyard to check out the other barns for future breaks. Then on down the field to look over the wonderful views. We did do the Leg Stretcher Walk which was interesting and ate at the Seven Stars in Stroud, that was great value. Well done for designing such a great development and keeping it so immaculate. We will definitely rebook quite soon.

We enjoyed our stay at Barrow Hill Barns. It’s in a lovely quiet location and a good base to tour the area to visit the coast, gardens and places of interest - which is what we wanted. The accommodation is very good - the best we’ve stayed in for some time - and we would return. We would also use the accommodation as a benchmark when considering staying anywhere else in the UK. The information provided about the property is very informative, including the video walkthrough, and we took on two suggestions for eating out in Petersfield (Turkish and Italian) - both were good. Petersfield has a Waitrose and an M&S foodhall and a twice weekly market.

My husband and I had a lovely, relaxing stay. The barn had everything we needed. The cooking facilities were amazing! Also the bed was extremely comfortable, especially as we both have back problems.
The surroundings were so peaceful. We loved the fact we could open all the doors and let the outside in.

On arrival the barn was clean and well equipped. There’s everything you may require for our stay. The area has great walks direct from the barn. The walks supplied by the owners are very helpful, I recommend you either download them or print them off before you go. If you are looking for a little peace and quiet this is the ideal place. I feel it would have been nice if the hosts would have stopped bye just to say hello and check everything is OK. I guess this is a no win area as some people would prefer not to be disturbed.

We picked Barrow Hill Barns as a luxury self catering cottage to stay for our 2 day tour of Portsmouth Harbour and Naval museum.
The location was peaceful and within easy reach of Portsmouth allowing us to travel easily to see the sites and retreat to the countryside for a relaxing evening.

This was our second visit to Redgates. The barn is spacious, with light flooding in. Everything we needed was provided, even a Nespresso machine. The beds and sofa are really comfortable. The location is stunning – footpaths from the door into beautiful folded countryside. It's a short drive to all sorts of interesting places, but you can also walk to several good pubs. It's a really excellent base for a holiday. We loved it and will return.

We hired 5 cottages in total. Arriving at the barns we were blown away at home beautiful they looked. All the cottages are in short walking distance from each other and perfect for a large group booking. The cottages were modern with that traditional charm. Fully stocked with everything we needed. They were clean and comfortable. Beautiful views of the local area! Thank your for a lovely stay!

We've really enjoyed our (now two) stays at Barrow Hill Barns. They're nicely decorated, the kitchens have everything you need to be self-sufficient, the beds are very grand and comfortable and the finishing touches - like shampoo and conditioner included, as well as milk and other essentials left for guests - make for a very easy stay. The cottages have underfloor heating which makes things really easy too - there's also charging available for electric cars. We'd recommend this for a place to work remotely as well, we've found it very easy to log into our laptops and find a quiet space for that purpose. Rob is a great host - very responsive and amenable. The guest books are full of handy information like local walks, pubs and places to visit. Will definitely be coming back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day break at Barrow Hill Barns, staying in Redgates. The location is blissfully peaceful, the scenery spectacular and we were able to enjoy some beautiful walks, plenty of photography and return to our accommodation which had every facility we needed, comfortable and luxurious. We returned home refreshed and will definitely come again.Thank You.

We stayed here for 4 nights and wish we'd stayed longer. The barns are stunning, decorated and cleaned really well and they're so peaceful. The location/views are also beautiful! We walked to the pub twice which is just over a mile away, nice easy walk/footpath so perfect to take the dog along. The garden of the barn isn't secure (which is stated on the website) so we were unable to let our dog off the lead but that wasn't a problem for us, just something to bear in mind. Couldn't recommend staying here enough, we loved it!

A very comfortable stay in a well equipped cottage. TV coverage proved challenging - some notes for guidance would be useful. If the espresso machine is used, some coffee cups are needed.
Otherwise, am happy to commend this as a good venue to explore a lovely part of England

We have loved staying at Redgates, Barrow Hill Barns for a two week holiday. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with everything we needed including a super comfy bed and a great shower. We loved the bifold doors and looking out onto the field of cows, and the patio area was a real sun trap (on the few occasions it came out during our stay!). The location is in a hamlet down a quiet lane - very peaceful and quiet - just what we wanted, however the lovely town of Petersfield is only a short drive away. We will definitely be back for a return visit!

We were very pleased to visit a new location to walk after weeks on our local patch. We were able to do a variety of walks from the front door without needing to get in the car. The house and terrace had a lovely aspect with sunshine most of the day. Redgates is well equipped, very comfortable, plenty of parking and great WIFI. There was plenty of space around the properties with views across the fields and up to Barrow hill.

Beautifully designed and well-equipped barn, with everything we needed, and a helpful and readily available owner. Fabulous, quiet location, walks all round, useful maps in the house, plenty of very pretty villages to discover. Sitting in the sun on the patio, glass in hand, watching the bullocks being fed in the field opposite, swallows swooping – delightful! I couldn't fault it. We will book again. Can't wait to get back to the rural peace and quiet.

What a lovely place to stay- a credit to the owners, the barns are just fabulous , bright, cosy and so comfortable - the set up is excellent, ideal for families to get together. We only had a short break, but we explored the area a little, Petersfield is only a couple of miles away and is ideal and there are a few Pubs nearby to eat at. We will definitely be back next year and will be recommending Barrow Hill Barns to all our family and friends.

Very impressed by the quality and cleanliness of Redgates. The cottage has been fitted out to a really high standard and I felt very comfortable that the team managing the property had thought hard to ensure customers were kept safe during the pandemic with specific measures to keep the place clean and allow people to socially distance.

Ideal for dogs with a lovely garden and In a great location for walking with some great pubs nearby. Only point I would add is the garden area isn’t necessarily secure for dogs, there is a low wall that drops onto the road and the garden to the adjoining cottage is easily accessible. Unless your dog is very well behaved, you might feel more comfortable keeping them on a lead out there or being fully supervised whilst out. Certainly didn’t pose a big issue for us at all.

Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay.

This was our second visit to Barrow Hill Barns and we cannot fault anything! The accommodation was spotlessly clean, well equipped and in a quiet peaceful location. Rob and his team should be proud of what they have achieved, we will see you in 2021.
