Nuthatch has been thoughtfully designed to combine country, contemporary and character. Modern comforts are mixed with classic pieces, and a colour scheme of neutrals and warm tones inspired by woodland and river. The country chic vibe includes a panelled lounge and a light-filled kitchen-dining-sitting space where classic Crittall glazed doors open onto a private, sunny, walled courtyard garden. With BBQ, fire pit and table and chairs, it’s the perfect spot for relaxed drinks and al fresco eats.

Fantastic stay for our young family of 4!

We had a brilliant stay at Nuthatch. Location was perfect for walks into the village an the surrounding area - perfect for little legs, no need to have to walk far to see the beauty of the new forest. Ponies right outside the window was a real treat and didn’t get old. The house was stunning - extremely clean, comfortable, lovely bed linen and towels. It felt a real home from home with all the amenities you need. The garden area was great for the children to be outside whilst we could enjoy the open plan kitchen and “coffee corner” as we named it. Beautiful light and a real calm and quiet feel. Didn’t even notice we were next to a “hotel” next door so don’t let that put you off. The house layout was very clever, it was so spacious and deceptive from the outside. All bedrooms were a great size and we had plenty of space to live. Parking was excellent at the back of the property, from people who are really particular about our cars and the ability to park safely. The living room was cosy and accommodating for our family of four, the children spent most of the time in the sofa seat under the window. Great location for venturing out - we visited Beaulieu, Lyndhurst and places surrounding Brockenhurst to name a few. Lovely short walk to the Huntsman.
We all had a really lovely stay made perfect by the property.
One small suggestion would be to include a slightly larger cooking pan in the kitchen for those family meals. Lovely touches with the children’s dinner plates etc, everything we needed in the utility room, spacious boot room for bags, coats and shoes so nothing felt left out or in the way.

Wow what a cottage, beautifully presented, probably the cleanest place we’ve stayed at , with everything you need to cook with as well as all you may want if the weather stops your adventures, including a washer dryer for those muddy clothes. But the best surprise is its location, literally had ponies outside the window, with loads more a level short walk away, with woodlands, streams and open heathland to explore for miles all on your doorstep, not to mention the short walk to a country village with Tea Rooms, Pubs and shops for all those browsers and shoppers.

We loved staying at Nuthatch over the festive period. The location is great and the set up was excellent. The only downside was a lack of curtains in the living room which prohibited a bit of privacy in the evenings. Loved it though a. D would definitely stay again.

We were a party of 2 guests staying at Nuthatch in 2 bedrooms, for a long weekend Thu-Sun.

The house is lovely, very well appointed, comfortable & beautifully decorated. At the time of our visit the property was relatively new to the rental market & we did have a few minor teething problems with operating the central heating and a couple of bits of snagging - nothing that spoiled our overall enjoyment. Happily the management team responded promptly and managed to resolve swiftly which was greatly appreciated.

Location is excellent. It’s central enough for a short walk to all the amenities & delicious eateries on offer in Brockenhurst, a short drive to the coast & other attractions, and mere steps away from the open expanses of the New Forest. It was peaceful & idyllic, picture-postcard pretty, everything you imagine that part of the world to be. We had hoped to see ponies of course, we never dreamt they really would be literally outside the door! And so many! We also loved the charming converted phone box located on the corner of the road, packed with books to borrow and useful maps & tips.

We loved every minute of our trip and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you for having us!

The only watch-out we would offer to future guests is a possible consideration for larger groups. The bedrooms can accommodate up to 6 in 3 double rooms and there’s a large farmhouse style kitchen table that caters to the same number. However, the living room is small, with a two seater sofa & a love seat. It was perfect for the two of us, but for cosy evenings-in a full group of 6 adults might struggle to lounge comfortably.

A beautiful and well stocked home for a delightful stay in the New Forest. Every member of the family (baby, children, adults and dog) was considered in this property. A wonderful cupboard of children/baby toys and books. A welcome pack for both humans and dogs was a lovely touch. We loved watching the horses and cows walk past the front window. It’s a short walk to the local village where we found a lovely bakery, dog shop, tea rooms, Tesco express and fish and chip shop. There’s so much more there, but this is what we used. A superb stay in a place that felt home from home. Thank you!
Highly recommend New Forest Escapes as their communication was excellent throughout our stay.
