Great location, property and facilities. Lovely walks in the forest and good local restaurants. Will be visiting again
Beautiful apartment, amazing gardens, wonderful views, fantastically equipped. All in all, it was a weekend to be treasured. Thank you! We will be back!!
Our second time at Seabiscuit and already looking forward to our third. Such a special place with so many thoughtful touches. Very well equipped kitchen and fabulous location for shops and marina. Lovely courtyard walled garden with plenty of comfy seating and sun shade. We love this house.
We were 8 adults and 4 children/babies and the house accommodated us all beautifully. So much space, very well appointed, gorgeous, well kept gardens. The spa pool was an absolute winner, we loved it. Communication was excellent. Honestly couldn’t fault our stay at Moonwood House.
We absolutely loved our stay at Swallows Cottage. The location is ideal for family trips and days out, with the whole of the New Forest and surrounding area easy to explore from here. The cottage itself is incredibly well equipped, especially for families with young children. Everything we needed to feel at home was provided, right down to the toys, games and books that kept our little one happily occupied. It's clear a lot of thought has gone into making it welcoming for families. We did have to contact the property management team partway through our trip, which turned out to be entirely o...more
It was ‘Wow’ as soon as we walked through the door. This house has been very professionally designed inside and out. The ‘RalphLauren’ style courtyard was stunning. We almost lived out there in the shaded sun. (And I’m a garden designer!). The Kitchen Diner could host 10 comfortably to impress your friends for lunch. We only used one bedroom but the bed was very comfortable, plenty of storage and a super bathroom. Locally, everything was just a short walk away. Trains are easy to catch for days out, as is the Wightlink ferry service to the Isle of Wight. If we were 30 years younger ...more
We throughly enjoyed our two weeks in Victory Cottage. The location was excellent, we were able to pop out for walks to the harbour and along the seawall without using the car. There were numerous restaurants nearby and we were able to explore the New Forest easily. Coming back each day to the cottage was delightful, it was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed and more.
Saltwood was a very comfortable stay, as we were exploring the area we didn’t spend a lot of time at the apartment but it had everything you needed and was very clean, with sea breezes. Loved the area nice and quiet but had a great number of dining options and was close to neighbouring towns. Would love to go back.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Patch It was a celebration for my husband’s birthday with our son and daughter in law and they had provided a birthday banner and a small cake A very hot weekend so I had rang in advance about fans and they provided fans in bedrooms and kitchen It’s a very comfortable picturesque place to stay with everthing you need Customer service was great
We were a mixed age family group - 71 down to 10 months - we all had a fabulous time! The weather helped, but the large deck was just perfect for the children to run around on. The decor was very interesting - lots to look at - and the bedrooms were large and comfortable. Lots of cooking resources which was useful - the road is more residential and you are unlikely to be walking to restaurants. Easy access to Moors Valley country park was perfect. Lots of walking opportunities into the countryside - once you found the footpaths! Easy and quick access by car to a range of supermarkets. The host...more
This was my second stay at Avocet, my partner was unwell first time round and couldn’t come and this time we had a lovely stay together. Great location for town, rail, bus and ferry links. Lovely decor, very comfortable, all amenities taken care of and very quiet at night. Good communication and booking experience with New Forest escapes
Originally had booked in for a different place than whistlestop but due to factors out of our control, New Forest Escapes were instantly in touch to inform us of this and had offered us alternative accommodation. They stayed in contact with us and there we settled on Whistlestop. They went above and beyond for my partner and I to celebrate our 9 year anniversary. New Forest Escapes also offered us a gesture of good will for the inconvenience which we used towards our favourite cuisine, Italian none the less, where the restaurant (Alberto’s in brockenhurst) were also so accommodating to help us...more
We feel so lucky to have found this holiday house. It felt spacious, yet homely and the location was perfect for morning and evening swims. We were there in a heatwave and felt it was too hot to make the most of the garden - a shade or umbrella would help with this. Otherwise perfect!
We had a lovely week at Greenwood which is a stunning house and garden in a beautiful location. A great place suitable for all ages with everything you could wish for including swimming pool, tennis court ,cinema and games room. We would have no hesitation returning.
The apartment offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is walking distance to beaches, highcliffe castle and the shops, cafes and a fantastic restaurant in highcliffe (Bistro my way). A short drive to New Milton, with its department store and M & S Food. The only small issue is that you cannot hang washing outside.
Nutmeg House was a fabulous choice for our family get together. Plenty of space for old and young to relax, eat and sleep. Lovely comfy beds with the youngest member of the party enjoying the bunk beds next to the living room which was perfect both during the day and evening. Location is great with the High St and Quay a short walk away plus the New Forest on your doorstep. Recommend eating at The Lighthouse on the seafront at Milford on Sea an easy drive away or an easy 2 hour walk on the coast path.
This is the second year we have stayed here. Facilities were as described with the exception of no bbq which was the same on our last visit. On our previous stay May 2025 we had a beautiful welcome pack on our arrival which was very disappointingly absent on this trip - there was a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge. The shower in one of the bathrooms needs some attention as the water escaped onto the bathroom floor on more than one occasion ( the water was lukewarm and not very powerful when in use). The master and other bathroom was fine. The lodge was for up to 6 guests and it would be h...more
This was my second visit to this property and we would definitely consider returning again if we can. The location is excellent and the property was well-equipped and very comfortable and suited us extremely well. New Forest Escapes is also a really lovely company to work with.
Lovely spacious house with a very well equipped kitchen. Lots of outside space - we didn’t use the beautiful sitting room as the weather was so good. Would recommend. One note for the owner - we couldn’t turn off the master bedroom towel rail - it was hot all the time.
Really beautiful location with lovely views and close to plenty of things to do (including the Nici Hotel, a pick-your-own farm and mini golf, all within walking distance). Great amenities, including a tennis court, games room, excellent BBQ, multiple fridges and dishwashers, and a good number of bathrooms. On particularly hot summer days, it is worth bringing a few fans, as the house does not have air conditioning.
Very well laid out comfortable and well kept property. The garden is great for a dog a completely enclosed. A great spot to walk into high street, and 25 mins to Avon beach . Would definitely book again.
Very good property. NB Property is next door to pub and gardens adjoin so noisy on warm evenings however there is a World Cup on! No teapot! Second set of keys not available
Great communication with owner. Everything was perfect . For us due to the weather being so hot we spent all our time outside. Breakfast , lunch and bbq dinners. The grounds are perfect for all.
Beautiful property! Very modern and spacious it had everything you would need for a home from home vacation. The garden was lovely! our dogs loved it and so did we, jacuzzi was very welcome too, especially as we had very warm weather whilst we were there. Would definately recommend this property and would live to return some time.
This was a great base to explore lovely Milford on Sea and all the nearby areas. Some nice treats upon our arrival. Lovely hosts.
We did this as a late booking - our party consisted of 5 adults. The property exceeded expectations. The two lounges with massive sofas had ample seating. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Nice little hamper on arrival. Bedrooms had loads of storage space and nice comfy beds ( a bit soft for me ) We used the hot tub - no instructions but was easy to use. We had out golden retriever with us and found the garden very secure and the house nice and dog friendly. The walk across the field or road was 10 minutes to the delights of Lyndhurst.
We stayed at Furzedown farm house for three nights. Beautiful house and grounds with plenty of space for nine of us. Amazing things were the wildlife particularly all the wild birds not forgetting the peacocks and Guinea Fowl gracing us with their presence and choral displays. Amazing vistas from upstairs. Outside seating area excellent wity plenty of room. Pizza oven and bbq were great. We made full use of the kitchen and outside cooking facilities. Inside, the games room was interesting. We aren't really musicians but it would really appeal to kids who had a flair for music. Easy ...more
Hatchet Gorse cottage was a comfortable homely place to use as a base to explore the local area. Set in a pretty cottage garden and with two nice lounges it has plenty of space to relax in.
Comfortable stay in lovely cottage in New Forest. Small thing: no shower gel provided as usual and water in showers much too hot.
A great house, very well equipped. It was hot during our stay so the bedroom fans were appreciated. The house was very welcoming and comfortable, we settled in very quickly. A very quite, relaxing garden which we spent a lot of time in. The parking and street are quite restricted for space but it was ok. The driveway is no good for most cars but NFE provided an EV cable guard which allowed us to charge our car. This was our second stay with NFE, both houses have been to a similar standard. We will be back again soon, the New Forest is one of favourite places.
We booked Little Nye independently from the main house which fortunately was empty during our stay. We very much enjoyed our visit, the location is great with walks on the doorstep and we loved the Gun Inn round the corner. However, although the description makes it clear this is an annexe, I don’t think we would have enjoyed it very much if the house had been occupied. Little Nye was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The decking and garden furniture could benefit from a refresh as could the bathroom cabinets and floor. New Forest Escapes customer service was exceptional.
We spent a long weekend at this property for a family reunion with 9 adults. Renting the entire property was quite costly but it worked out really well with the garden ,hot tub ,bbq and large open plan living space. There were lovely coastal walks and runs on the doorstep and the New Forest is a short drive. We took our dogs so had to be quite careful to keep them on the wooden floors or out doors and off the cream coloured carpets so they needed to be well behaved ! The property was exactly as described in the information and had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay.
Lovely house and garden. Very good accommodation. My understanding is that this house won't be available next year. Some aspects needed addressing such as blocked drains, availability of iron and rubbish bags. Several door handles were on the verge of coming off so a general overhaul. However, I would expect the owners to wait until they are back. The road was very busy and perhaps should be pointed out in case renters expect a quiet location. Great response from John to various phone calls. However, great stay and thanks.
We had lovely peaceful idyllic stay at Rowes Cottage with beautiful hot weather not far from Lymington. Everything was perfect The bungalow was very clean & well presented had everything we needed xx Was situated down a dead end lane so not much traffic & the best bit New Forest horses & cows came walking past. Amazing
We stayed at Moo Cottage as we got married at The Palais art gallery. Moo Cottage is really very lovely, and the location, yes, equally as lovely. We are local so know the area very well, therefore the surrounding area is not something new to us, absolutely stunning regardless although we are used to these views, we certainly do not take them for granted. Sadly we didn’t spend a huge amount of time in/at the cottage as we were getting married and was more of a hub really. Cleanliness was good but could be better, there were cobwebs throughout but didn’t affect our stay. Rooms were lovely. The ...more
Whilst a lovely modern property it’s let down by a significant level of discomfort. As mentioned in another recent review all 3 beds are extremely uncomfortable with poor mattresses, this is not good enough when you’re paying a premium price for a property like this. The kitchen space also isn’t comfortable. Cleanliness in places could be improved too. We stay in premium properties for a reason but this one let us down and left us with poor sleep and bad backs. Please sort this for future guests it’s easily remedied.
Fern Villa is exceptionally decorated, comfortably furnished and luxuriously equipped for a brilliant family stay. The fully enclosed rear garden is excellent for dogs and the outside lounging area lovely at night with fire pit under the stars. Amazing to see the local ponies, donkeys and horses wondering on the road out the front. A nice easy driving distance to the best beaches and walking trails right from Brockenhurst to explore.
We love the location, the accomodation and the New Forest and we travel each year from Switzerland to England to enjoy the scenery, view - simply everything. A fantastic and beautiful place to be.
My wife and I had a lovely long weekend here. The cottage is very well equipped and in a fantastic location for dog walks and running, although running on the pebbly spit is definitely a challenge! Having a fantastic pub next door is the icing on the cake. Everything in the cottage is finished to a high standard, and it had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. We fully intend to be back sometime ovr the next 6 months.
Conveniently located, an ideal property for our family of 10 get-together. We all enjoyed the comfort and space, one of the best we've come across.
A very convenient and comfortable stay, with lots of thoughtful touches on arrival. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped. It was a great base to explore the New Forest.
Little Exbury was a delightful place to stay - beautiful views, so peaceful and very comfortable. Fantastic art on every wall and light filled rooms and very well equipped with comfortable beds. Walks from the doorsteps or short drives to Exbury Gardens, Lepe beach, Beaulieu, New Forest, Lymington and beyond. Very dog friendly too… Hope to return soon!
A unique property in a beautiful location. Lovely grounds with a grass tennis court and direct access to the Beaulieu river Plenty of room inside with various bedrooms to suit families Highly recommend for an unforgettable stay
I stayed in the upstairs section of Burley mews which is perfect for a couple. The location is tranquil with stunning walks on the doorstep or a short drive away. The cottage is clean with tasteful decor and well equiped. Thought has been given to every need including provision for a dog and a baby/toddler. Nick was very helpful and responsive to my enquiries. I would highly recommend.
A lovely cottage, with a large kitchen and dining area. The house is spacious and comfortable with different sitting rooms where guests can sit together or use for time on their own. Good location. Beautiful views of the garden which is well kept with good outdoor seating areas. Some of the bathrooms have baths with handheld showers.
We've just returned from a fantastic week at forest cottage. This was our third stay, it's the only holiday cottage we've ever returned to. The cottage has bags of character, lovely gardens and you can walk to beaulieu heath without using your car. It's also well set back from the main road, so all you can hear are the birds singing. The village pub is a 10 minute walk, Lymington a 10 minute drive. We love it, will certainly be returning in the future.
We loved the cottage, very comfy beds and amazing use of space with the bathrooms. Perfect location, walking distance to the pretty high street. Parking clocks a god send. Had 2 great meals in the Haven and even had a special meal in the pig whilst my son and his girlfriend dog sat. We were unlucky with the weather truly awful for June but made the best of it great beach walks and saw the ponies in Lyndhurst, typically weather changed on last day. Managed to fit in the market and a warm beach walk.
Lovely, well equipped cottage. Beautiful garden to relax in Really nice walks on your doorstep Would definitely come back
We had a delightful holiday in Number 2. The house is interesting and has an artistic and designer feel about it. The location is excellent for popping to the high street and M&S and Waitrose are nearby for food shopping. Parking permit much appreciated. As we were visiting friends we had our main meal out but the kitchen is equipped with all mod cons. Hope to come back again. One comment - table cutlery includes only serrated knives and there is not enough if you gradually load the dishwasher. Would like a butter knife too.
We were a group of 6 staying at the cottage for a few days to attend a family wedding at nearby Pylewell House. The location was perfect, the rustic property well presented with all the usual/necessary comforts. The garden was pretty. Our two significant gripes were: (1) the lack of hot water and (2) lack of ability to put the heating on. With 6 adults needing a shower ahead of an afternoon wedding only the first person had any hot water, the rest of us shivered. We called for assistance and a lady appeared quickly and said she put the water heating on 'constant' (alas too lat...more
The Lookout is a quaint little one bedroom property with an incredible view in a quiet corner of the New Forest. We could walk our dog directly into the forest and literally walk for miles. Don't forget anything for supper as there are no local supermarkets, but nearby pubs offered good food, namely The Royal Oak and The Three Lions. The cottage itself has a secure garden which is great for our four legged friends. It had everything we needed for our three night stay, it was immaculately clean and host Tracey ensures that everything is just right, she is brilliant and living locally offers som...more
Property is nice and spacious. Condition is ok. Balcony is a good feature but is a bit run down and not kept clean. There are a couple of things that could cause a problem. Glass counter in the kitchen has sharp corners and is a bit of a hazard. The step between the dining area and the lounge is difficult to see and my husband fell down it. Hot tub was very good and well maintained. Beds were comfortable. TV a bit difficult to operate. Road is busy and quite noisy.
My wife and I feel that there was a few things not included which at this price point we would have expected. Overall the property is in good condition but the extra touches just weren't there. For example it was not a warm week and gas in the outdoor heater would have been appreciated. The downstairs bathroom had one toilet roll in it for the week, there was no complimentary soap/shampoo in the shower, the sink looked lovely in the downstairs bathroom but there was no way to have a wet shave (form over function). The overhead extractor in the kitchen made a racket when you used it. The f...more
This is our second time staying at the boat shed and we've enjoyed both. The setup is compact but has all the we need for weekend stays. Very good kitchen facilities and small barbecue as well. Good powerful shower. The bunk room works well for extra sleeping space. The location is very quiet, great for walking into Lymington. We were cycling and so it's a perfect base for the New forest or popping over to the Isle of Wight.
