Stunning cottage, beautifully presented. Very clean, high end furnishing and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in! The walk up the road behind the house takes you to the most stunning scenery, truly breathtaking. We didn't want to leave...
Just what the doctor ordered, rest and relaxation at Knot Far - wonderful location , well furnished and comfortable accommodation, comfy beds and well equipped. Stones throw from Highcliffe Castle and walks to Avon Beach. Greeted by host and made welcome with cake, bubbly and essentials on arrival. Exceptional service from NFE team - would thoroughly recommend, its a hidden gem !
Beautiful newly refurbished home in quiet village by the sea. All mod cons and very comfy beds. Walk-able to the Gun Inn and Lighthouse for food and all the delights of the New Forest straight from the door.
We wanted a bolt hole for a few days to escape, and The Little Gate House was perfect. It was quirky enough to feel different, and holiday like, but practical enough to be very easy as a place to stay. We took our dog and she loved the fact we were permanently accessible & visible on one floor level-she likes to be where her humans are! There are so many beautiful walks nearby we have vowed to return to explore more. We never actually met the owners but we valued the fact they gave us our privacy (they left us a note with their mobile numbers so it was clear we could get in touch if we...more
We had a truly wonderful weekend at Broombank to celebrate Grandmas birthday. Perfect location for a walk to see the views of the surrounding countryside. Beautiful house with plenty of space, warm and with a fabulous selection of entertainment for all ages. Broombank owner has thought of everything, is always available if you need him. The house is so well equipped you really only need to take your own clothes and food.
We stayed at Rowes Cottage as a family of 4 and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A very clean and comfortable place to stay. The donkeys and horses walk past daily, which the kids really loved! The kitchen has everything you need (including a Nespresso coffee machine). The local East End pub is great and in walking distance. And many other great places are only a short drive away. We would highly recommend this cottage.
The house was big enough for 6 adults, 2 teenage boys, a toddler and a baby. It was very well equipped with everything that we needed for our 3 night stay. Another shower would have been helpful in getting everybody ready in the mornings. Also a shaver socket for our electric tooth brush. The children enjoyed the toys and games supplied and the adults enjoyed the hot tub. The house is in a good location for walking along the sea front and we enjoyed our visits to the local pub. Harrie, the lady from NFE, was extremely helpful during the booking process and the house manager Claire was thought...more
12 of us, 8 adults and 4 children, enjoyed a very comfortable stay over a long weekend. The rooms and facilities were just right for the needs of the different age groups of our party, from senior citizens to toddlers! We loved the spacious rooms and the immaculate bathrooms. The children very much enjoyed the garden, playing games of cricket and trying out the archery set, and observing the peacocks and guinea fowl. For them the toys and instruments in the music room were an added bonus. New Forest Escapes were very helpful in every way and we followed up their suggestions to explore Lepe be...more

We had a wonderful stay at Ploughmans Cottage. The house was very clean, and well set out for children and adults alike. We had 3 young kids with us, and there was so much for them to explore in the garden plus toys and the contents of the dressing up box, we could have just stayed in the house for the week and they would have been happy! The house and location looked even better than the pictures, the pub next door was really convenient and even offered to do us takeaway dinners when they had capacity, and the owners (who we met briefly when we arrived) were great and extremely helpful. There...more
Great location, very well equipped house with beautiful furnishings, not the usual holiday let. Holly and family were very friendly and kind. The house could do with some more cutlery but apart from that it was faultless!
Perfect house for a weekend’s escape. The photos don’t do the house justice. The layout works perfectly for 2 families sharing. Beds and linen super comfortable and the house is very well equipped. Would love to stay again. What could be better? A wardrobe or hooks and hangers for the ground floor double as no where to hang clothes. The hair dryer in this room also needs replacing - not fit for purpose and smokes when plugged in.
If you’re looking for a more central place to stay in the new forest this is a great little house. It also has fabulous kitchen and outdoor space so I can imagine it would be fantastic for summer nights in.
I just wanted to say how incredibly helpful and attentive the team were in our booking and our stay. It felt like nothing was too much, and the team know the area so well and totally available to answer questions and helped our group have the best time! thank you! x
On the plus side: Very clean and reasonably comfortable (if you can sleep on Tempur mattresses and expect comfortable sofa/chairs). We were never cold and had some very cold external temperatures during our stay. Social kitchen. Great lighting - with the exception of the bedside lights which kept collapsing. Lovely downstairs bathroom with good shower. Quiet road and in a good position to explore by car. All the 'extras' were great. Washing tablets, dishwasher tablets, cling film, foil, spare toilet rolls, food storage bags, basic oil, salt pepper, sweet spices, tea, coffee - all of ...more
Lovely house, lovely area, friendly and helpful team. We had a great time! Recommend looking at all the tips and guides on New Forest escapes’ website and booking East End Arms in advance if you are a large party.
This cottage is an average cottage in a good location. Whilst the kitchen was vey well equipped, the windows didn’t shut properly properly and cleanliness wasn’t 100%. The beds were lovely and clean and comfortable, but the kettle needed de-scaling!
Coastguard Cottage is a lovely cottage in a prime location with fantastic views from the bedrooms, especially the top floor. Lovely walks to Lymington and Milford on Sea and a short drive to lots of different walks in the New forest and the jurassic coast. The only down sides were: 1- If you are there in the winter months as we were, the cold air coming in from the front door/hallway is freezing. Keeping the kitchen door closed helps and we were warned about this but until you are there you don't realise how cold it is. We would suggest a thick curtain was put up over the front door for the ...more
Great location with good parking, a 3 or 4 minute walk to the sea front and a 20 minute walk into Milford with its excellent restaurants and bars. A great base for exploring the New Forest. The exterior of the property gives no clue to how well the interior has been overhauled, but step through the front door and the attention to detail of the interior is immediately apparent. Bright throughout, well decorated and modern. A well-appointed kitchen, comfortable lounge, sun room and a pretty, very useable little garden area with interesting planting. Master bedroom is cute with a tiny en-suite....more
The location of this property is perfect! The kitchen is brilliantly appointed meaning family meals were no hassle to prepare. Lounge was perfect for kicking back and relaxing, the smart TV makes all the difference! A few niggles: Firstly, the bin situation is a joke! I'm on holiday, I don't expect to be chasing down information about bins and bin collections. Bringing the bins in from the road and then putting them out as well! Please cheer up the outside seating - Replace or paint the rotting shed in the corner, pull up the tiny plants/weeds, paint or replace the table and provide ...more
Thank you for a lovely family holiday! The house and garden is beautiful with a great selection of amenities. Lovely touches like the fire pit an log burners make you feel really cozy. The location is perfect for local shops and pubs with the high street just a short walk away. We have struggled for a long time to find stylish and modern dog friendly accommodation and No.24 is perfect for us, we hope to return soon.
A lovely house in a perfect location for family walks and playing on the beach. We can recommend the local pub - The Gun. Thank you!
Beckheath is a very special home - a hidden gem! (So much so we wished it was ours!) It’s cozy and has everything you need. The location is perfect for walks right on your doorstep. The welcome pack of wine, fresh bread, butter, tea, ground coffee and milk was a lovely touch. Communication throughout was great particularly as it was during the Christmas period. We’ll definitely be booking again!
Location - although set back, it is on an extremely busy road. So lots of traffic noise No rear garden. Front garden, whilst secure and in good condition isnt a pleasant experience sitting outside with the noise of the traffic Lounge, kitchen and downstairs toilet all fine. Attention to detail on cleaning was not great. I have taken photos of the evidence Upstairs main bathroom - broken toilet seat. Photo evidence available Both bathrooms - skirting boards and toilet brushes not dusted for some time - photo evidence available Bedroom next to main bathroom - mattress badly stained wit...more
The gibson enjoyed themselves and its location. The house is an old building with many interesting features and blessed with a Welcoming owner.
The Boat Shed is a real little rustic gem of a hideaway, set in a perfect location. Comfortable living with everything you need. We will definitely return when we need a getaway to recharge the batteries.
We had booked a short break in the New Forest, having not been before. The Pig Shed is a quirky little place. The lounge and bedroom can be separated by a curtain, and the bed is very comfortable. The log burner works well, with logs supplied. The kitchen area is very basic-the sink has only one tap and that's cold water, you have to either boil the kettle or go to the bathroom for hot water. The idea, I understand, is to be recycling things/reusing/eco friendly-but there was a lack of essential items, like a bread knife-there are old mugs and old plates, all recycled I'm guessing. The portabl...more
Super location with good access to Lymington and beyond by car/bike. New Forest Escape insider guides were a great resource for an action packed stay. If we visit again we might choose to take it slower but good weather was so perfect for exploring somewhere new each day.
I think this house would probably be ok for a family with children. It was extremely expensive £2800 for one week and why we had to pay £40 for each dog I have no idea. I think this a house that is lived in by the owners and only let out because of extortionate price, every cupboard was closed with cabletyes. Although the kitchen was well equipped the rest of the house lets it down. We wanted 2 bathrooms. These did not live up to expectations. One was really a cupboard with a shower and toilet extremely small, and the second was not much better. The photographs of the lounge made it look much...more
Brochure description is accurate about this property. This is a family home rather than the normal rental - We had four generations & it fitted us all in perfectly. We contacted the company about something minor & the Owner contacted us immediately & it was sorted without any fuss. Couple of points, like any family home things need to be upgraded from time to time & I feel the kitchen crockery needs a look at- it was difficult to find a plate without a chip or crack in it- Windows -quite a few have blown & would benefit from being sorted. Overall we had a lovely stay in a lovely part of...more
