We really enjoyed exploring this corner of UK and found some fantastic places to eat out locally and lots to do outdoors - both on the coast and within New Forest
Family of 3 (18 month year old). The cottage is situated in a beautiful spot in the new forest, close to lovely walks / bike rides, pubs and Lymington / Southampton. There are wild horses practically on the doorstep and the cottage is also a very short distance from the coast. In terms of the cottage itself it was incredibly clean on arrival and is finished to an exceptionally high standard throughout (excellent bathroom, Meile kitchen appliances, comfy beds etc.). It was also very well equipped and the high chair provided was a premium brand. We loved the small, but pretty garden as well ...more
we loved our stay at Broombank. this is a really comfy house. the kitchen deserves a shout out - so well stocked - great gadgets, lots of plates, glasses etc. perfect if you’re hosting a larger group.
The property was exactly as described and wonderfully clean and tidy making the arrival process lovely and smooth. We were able to settle straight in and feel instantly at home. There was even a lovely welcome pack with butter, milk, bread, bacon and a wonderful cake. This was a lovely touch to arrive to and just what we needed. There was sufficient space for us all and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and in immaculate condition. It is a quiet location which is what we were looking for but still easy to access the next village for food. It was an ideal location for a stro...more
We felt so happy and comfortable from the moment we arrived, every practical thing has been thought of! And the level of comfort was just the icing on the cake. We were able to bake, cook grand meals and have the most fantastic time we could have hoped for! Please, please visit Oddways, you will not ever regret or forget this place! We certainly won’t!
This house was perfect for our stay - they had thought of everything! Lovely private garden to hang out in, great barbecue, really comfortable sitting room and a huge TV to watch films when it rains. All very child friendly too. Would highly recommend.
We loved our stay at Gins Barn! It was a clean, beautifully decorated house with comfortable beds, large modern kitchen, large lounge. The setting is amazing - we loved wandering down the jetty to watch the boats, looking at the beautifult gardens and watching the chickens peck around. The owners were very helpful and friendly, but still ensured we had our privacy (they live in the house next door). It is a great location - 20 minutes from Lymington, where there is lots to do (shops, open air swimming pool, mini golf, fruit picking). We are fussy customers and rarely stay in the same place mor...more
We had a wonderful stay at Ploughmans Cottage. The house was very clean, and well set out for children and adults alike. We had 3 young kids with us, and there was so much for them to explore in the garden plus toys and the contents of the dressing up box, we could have just stayed in the house for the week and they would have been happy! The house and location looked even better than the pictures, the pub next door was really convenient and even offered to do us takeaway dinners when they had capacity, and the owners (who we met briefly when we arrived) were great and extremely helpful. There...more
Four of us stayed at Brockwell for 3 nights and we really couldn’t fault a single thing. From the booking process and communication before our stay to the accommodation itself, everything was absolutely perfect. The property is high end and every detail had been though off. The location is ideal, a great base to explore the village and surrounding areas. I will 100% book again and can’t recommend highly enough.
Lovely cottage ,wonderful outlook towards IOW. We didn’t mind that Fiona is living there in the annexe this summer, a really lovely lady and her Labrador Sky and Guinness just added to our enjoyment. Didn’t like the rough concrete kitchen floor, Downstairs bathroom needs updating and a shower to save having to going upstairs. Very pleasant and comfortable lounge.
Saltwater is contemporary, airy and fresh yet still cosy , and the garden is a lovely quiet sun trap - a great place to relax. The house is very well equipped without going over the top. We have two older teens and the accommodation was more than spacious enough for us all to stay friends! Only one very slight grumble would be the traffic noise in the front room, as the road to Keyhaven is surprisingly busy from early morning. You immediately feel part of a community in Milford, which is well located for coast and countryside. Plenty places to shop, eat and wander if you prefer a day...more
We had a lovely holiday and the house made it perfect. We had some issues that we reported to New Forest Escapes, who responded quickly and in person, and dealt with the issue effectively. The location was perfect for our needs-quiet and convenient to all the local tourist spots. The Welcome Package was fabulous with fresh flowers, Prosecco and plenty of basic provisions including lots of toilet roll! There was a coffee machine with plenty of capsules which was a treat. The house was very spacious and allowed our family to meet communally or find a quiet place to relax and unwind. Havi...more
We had a lovely three-generation post lockdown stay at Ploughman’s Cottage and the Pig Shed. The location is beautiful, with walks from the doorstep and a great pub right next door, and a short drive to lots more amazing forest scenery and coastline. The mix of rooms and the separate pig shed worked perfectly for us. We all - especially the kids - loved the garden, and there were lots of toys, games and dressing up to play with.
This property is in a great location right next to the high street in Lymington. The property has great bedroom/bathroom facilities and was very clean when we arrived. The property however is very overlooked so very little privacy especially in the garden. The property is reasonably well equipped but would benefit from some additional plates and bowls. At the moment you need to run the dishwasher twice in a day if you have more than one meal in the property. The property is also quite cluttered with extra furniture and decorative items which could be reduced. This would help the property to fe...more
We had a wonderful time staying at the cottage in Keyhaven. The peaceful location was perfect and the cottage was very clean and comfortable. The only thing we’d recommend is getting a smart TV so you can log in to Netflix etc…
Cozy cottage with ponies on your doorstep. Lovely log fire in the evening. Easy to walk into Burley village and short drive to Brockenhurst. Sunnydell Cottage has a fabulous feel for a very enjoyable family break.
The British Isles are blessed with many miles of coastline, but quality accommodation with direct beach access is few and far between, so it's a rare treat to have the opportunity to stay in a character property mere steps from a lovely beach with breathtaking views. Is there anything I can say about Pitts Deep that hasn't already been said? The delightful cottage is serene and cosy, with lovely first floor views of the sea and a fabulously kitted out kitchen which made cooking for 10 a breeze. Despite inclement weather we still made the most of the outside deck - the perfect vantage point fr...more
We had a fantastic week in such a lovely part of the world. Long walks along the coast, swimming in the sea, canoeing and some great food (the Gun Inn in Keyhaven was a real gem with a varied and very well executed menu). The house was comfortable and made a great base for excursions but there were some downsides worth pointing out so that they can be addressed. Having the aga on in summer made the kitchen uncomfortably hot. The TV is tiny and sounds tinny which wasn’t good for when we wanted to settle in for a family film after a long day out. For a 6 bed house there were only 4 sofa/armchair...more
A very enjoyable long weekend. Good location to get to from West London and whilst basic accommodation but perfect for what we needed.
Fantastic location at the heart of the new forest. Would recommend that you take or hire bikes as there are so may cycle routes to enjoy directly from the cottage. We cycled the Balmer lawn circular, to Beaulieu and Bucklers Hard and to Burley and Rhinefield arboretum. It’s such a nice way to see the forest as well as the ponies and donkeys. The cottage is ideal for families. We had 2 families of 4 in the cottage, there was plenty of space to spread out over the 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The annex bedroom was really popular with the older children allowing them to have there own space an...more
We stayed for 3 nights during a sunny weekend and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place. The Boat Shed has been beautifully designed and finished to such a high standard - with bare plaster walls, a wood burner, a fantastic kitchen space and a huge shady garden. It has everything you could possibly need and the location is 10/10. Just far enough from town to be a peaceful retreat but with everything within a 5-10 minute walk. We’ve stayed in a lot of cabins/tiny houses and this is up there with the best. Excellent customer service from New Forest Escapes beforehand too- called us o...more
Beau Soleil was absolutely brilliantly positioned - a stone's throw from the beach and a 15 minute walk from the amenities of Milford on Sea's village green. We had plenty to occupy ourselves - whether walking in the New Forest, kayaking at Keyhaven, swimming in the sea or exploring a bit further afield - we had a great trip to Mudeford Spit one day. The main negative point for us was that the house was a bit small for a family of 5 where the children were 17,16 and 12. One of the double bedrooms which had a double bed was very cramped, and using the truckle bed in the smaller bedroom would al...more
A family of 3 generations had a fantastic week away at Forest Edge, helped by the amazing weather! Lovely, welcoming family home and garden in a perfect location. Great for walks straight onto the National Park, excellent food at the very local Fleur De Lys Pub and close to amenities of Lymington. We spent days on the beaches at Milton On Sea & Barton on Sea, both within 25 minutes drives & not use at all in mid July. The house was very well equipped & had everything we needed for an enjoyable staycation. The football table a particular hit in our family..its now on the birthday lists!
This is a lovely House in an amazing location. Perfect for Long Walks on the Heath. Waterproof footwear is recommended! There is everything you need in the house which is beautifully furnished. The fourposter double is very small and better suited as a single. Loved sitting at the kitchentable looking out on the pretty garden. It is worth noting that There is only a handheld shower in the bathroom. We had a great week exploring the new forest.
