The entrance sets the perfect scene of what’s to come, and… if you can hold off diving-in the heated pool for a second longer… inside The Lodge is just as inviting!

The Lodge is great for multigenerational family holidays with the large outdoor pool and grounds the stars of the show. House was well fitted out and comfortable and it's location perfect for exploring the New Forest and coastal towns and beaches. Some maintenance especially to the pool cover and upgrade to some rugs and chairs in the house would enhance the overall experience. Overall very good and happy to recommend The Lodge to other families of all aged. PS our little dog had a great time.

We had another fantastic week at The Lodge. The location is brilliant for visiting nearby beaches as well as bike hire in the forest. The house was as lovely as previously but the reason we will keep coming back is the beautiful garden and lovely warm swimming pool - perfect for our children. Thank you!

Really loved staying at the lodge with family from aged 1-75. The grounds are wonderful, set in its own private gated space at the end of the old estate. Access is simple from the main road, and parking plentiful. The gardener does a lovely job with the area too.

We took my ambulantly disabled mother, who did struggle a bit on the ground floor – there is one reasonable step between the bedroom and the bathroom/kitchen area – something to note for others who are in a similar situation.

The kitchen and living room spaces are plenty big enough whilst still being quaint, with a dining table and utility area too. The kitchen is very well stocked in terms of crockery (including for children) and pots and pans – you won't need to bring anything. Some of the living room furniture is getting past its best, but this somewhat adds to the charm. Having a working fireplace is a great bonus too. Also lovely that all the downstairs room have double doors that open to the outside.

Upstairs the bedrooms are spacious, and the kids room a nice touch, again if slightly dated. The cot and highchair provided were excellent. The family bathroom is the gem though, with standalone bath and separate huge walk-in shower.

Having two separate outdoor dining areas was lovely too, especially the one at the back under the tree.

Only other thing worth saying is the Internet is very limited and slow – you couldn't work remotely from there if you had anything more than admin to do, certainly not video calls. Even the TV (which itself could do with updating) in the living room struggled to stay connected.

Overall though, a wonderful place – with a very helpful guide of all the local amenities. Everyone I spoke to at New Forest Escapes was lovely too. We'll definitely be back.

Beautiful house. Well equipped, very comfortable, clean. Good location. We had a thoroughly relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend & would love to return in the summer & make use of the lovely garden and pool

We were very late bookers, with odd dates, but the lodge was very accommodating in helping us at short notice.

Our second stay was just as good as the first, lovely big rooms and beautiful gardens. The location is perfect for exploring the Forest and the beach.

Beautiful property, lovely grounds and great swimming pool. Our only issue was the very poor WiFi which meant we couldn’t work at the property and so needed to spend a lot of time in other locations meaning we didn’t make the most of our stay there.

We had a great time, Lovely house, clean & comfortable, just a few items that could be easily addressed.

Internet speed is awful & keeps dropping out, could not be used for work calls.

Swimming pool was filthy when we arrived, full of leaves and bits from trees. We never saw the pool man, that was mentioned to come once a week.

Garden / driveway is overgrown. Tree branches scrape the roof of your cars & heads when you go up or down the drive.

We at New Forest Escapes appreciate all feedback and we're glad you had a great time at The Lodge. The gardener and swimming pool man come to the property during the changeover so as not to disturb the guests. The gardener spends the whole day there maintaining the garden and we understand you are referencing the beautiful willow tree on the driveway. The pool was cleaned before your arrival but it was a windy week. We do ask all guests to let us know of any issues that arise so we can sort quickly and with minimal disturance. If you had let us know the leaves had blown in during your stay we would have been happy to send the pool man back over to redo. We apologise for the internet speed and that you were unable to make work calls. It is a rural location and the best speed for that area. The owner had a remote health check completed with BT during your stay who did confirm this. We thank you for your stay and taking the time to leave this feedback.

The Lodge is a lovely place, highly recommend it. The location is the best of both - in the heart of the forest in 20 mins, at the beach in 20 mins.

We had a fabulous week with children and grandchildren at the Lodge, the highlight of which was the wonderful swimming pool. The house is very comfortable, well equipped and spacious and the gardens beautifully designed and well tended. We could not have asked for more.
The location is great in terms of proximity to the sea and the forest the only thing to be aware of is the road outside the gate is very busy and has no pavement.

We had a fantastic stay at The Lodge, it was clean, tidy and spacious. The location of the property is ideal if you want to go into the New Forest or to local towns. Our whole stay was very enjoyable and we will definitely go back. New Forests Escapes were so helpful with the whole booking process and extremely accommodating. I would 100% recommend them if you are looking to book a holiday in the New Forest. Their staff went over and above to assist. It is the best customer service experience I've had in a long time. Lovely stay, kitchen very well equipped and that was really helpful as we planned a couple of nights in with special dinners. Great relaxing by the woodburner sipping wine and playing board games.
During the day going on long walks by the sea or through the forest.
Would love to visit in the summer and use the outside area, however I guess that might be a bit pricey given the swimming pool.

Great property. Well equipped. Good location to the forest (great for cycling or walking). Local pub near by. Not cheap but fairly priced. I would love to visit again during the summer months.
