Whistlestop certainly pulls out all the stops to make your stay feel a little luxe; Known as the Rolls Royce of shepherds huts, the high-spec workmanship, log burner, and nifty design details throughout adds to the experience of utter New Forest escapism. Dog friendly.

I had the best stay here and would not hesitate to recommend or return. The hut is so cosy and snug and even on a rainy day is enjoyable. The wood burner heats it very quickly and the infra red sauna is a great touch. The add on breakfast was amazing and breakfast in bed was greatly appreciated. I cannot fault it and it was a friendly welcoming space. Meal wise you can easily do some simple things like salads or brought in sushi. The fridge is small but can fit more than you think!

We had a lovely couple of nights at Whistlestop -- it's a beautiful place to thoroughly unwind, whether star gazing, using the infrared sauna, or falling asleep to the sound of owls hooting! We'll be back for another visit soon, I hope.

Cosy and cute. However, the noise from the railway was extremely loud and continued until midnight. Everytime a train went past the whole shepherds hut shook, hence sleep was very poor and interrupted. Nice welcome pack with biscuits and drink. Bbq available but no bbq tools provided.

I’m sorry you couldn’t find the BBQ tools — they’re kept in the black box with the BBQ coals, but I’ll make sure we make that clearer for future guests, so thanks for pointing it out. And I’m sorry about the train noise — unfortunately, that’s out of our control, but we do try to be upfront about the nearby train line in the listing. Perfect little spot in the new forest, the Shepard's hut is well laid out and makes for the perfect new forest experience, all added to by the hidden sauna.
Facilities are nice, toilet being separate is not an issue, and the little private garden is so peaceful and relaxing.

Had a fabulous relaxing 2 night stay at The Whistlestop. Shepherds hut was very comfortable and kitted out with everything you would need.
Great location, a 10 minute walk to Brockenhurst which has a variety of pubs and restaurants.

We really enjoyed our stay at Whistlestop. The location is peaceful and just a 10-minute walk from Brockenhurst village. The shepherd’s hut was cosy with a very comfortable bed, and the secure garden was perfect for our dachshund. We made good use of the sun loungers and found it the ideal spot to relax and unwind. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!

Lovely accommodation in a charming village location. The cabin is a perfect balance of luxury and back-to-basics. Everything we needed was there and the sauna and fire pit add a cosy element.

Such a lovely peaceful weekend away in this shepherds hut. A beautiful little space (though my 6’2 boyfriend fit very comfortably which was a surprise!) and garden area with firepit, garden table and sun loungers. Only a 10-15 walk to lovely restaurants and pubs in the lovely town of brockenhurst where we saw donkeys roaming. We actually really enjoyed the sound of the train running past the garden and it doesn’t run through the night. I couldn’t recommend this more, we absolutely loved it!

The shepherds hut was perfect and included everything you could need and more. We visited on a cold and wet weekend and it was so warm and cosy in the hut and bathroom. It is in a great location close to local shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend visiting and we will definitely come again.

Exactly what we expected - loved that we weren’t too far out from New Forest and little villages and the walks, but felt cosy and away from everything when in our little hut.

All areas of the hut and toilet were spotless and had everything thought through- We payed extra to take our dog and this was taken into consideration too - dog bed,blanket,towel and bowl left for her which was such a nice touch.

Left to our own devices really so can’t say much on customer service, but I liked that you felt no pressure to interact or interve if you didn’t need to.
But a note left to ask and help ourselves to any tea/milk/water if needed.

Honestly can’t say one thing negative - it was a long drive for us (5hour) and can honestly say it was worth it.

Fantastic getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life
First time to visit this beautiful spot
We got a great warm welcome from Cheryl when we arrived and the rest of the staff
We had the option to have breakfast there for a extra £15 which we did and worth every penny it was fantastic and so tasty
We are looking forward to the next visited

We had a lovely stay, the hosts were very friendly and helpful. The area felt very private and had everything we needed. We didn’t use the sauna as we had very hot weather, but enjoyed the garden area. It’s a great location as used the train station a few times. There are lots of nice places to eat/drink nearby.
You can hear the trains going past and some of them cause the bed to shake a bit, but you soon get used to it.
The WiFi isn’t very strong but this didn’t effect our stay.

I booked the whistle stop for my husband's birthday for 3 nights and it was just perfect. The hut was super cute, we had everything we needed, fresh towels, dressing gowns, toiletries, there was coal and logs for the BBQ and fire pit (even though we didn't use it due to going out lots) the bed was super comfy, we loved hanging out in the nook...even though we are tall, we found it super cozy. Location wise, it was perfect, just a few mins drive to the stunning tall tree walk which is a must. We celebrated my husband's birthday with a delicious lunch at the nearby Pig hotel which was just a 5 minutes drive away. Ponies and donkeys walking around the village. Can't wait to come back for another relaxing stay. Thank you x
