Lovely extras like the wine,cake slices, eggs, milk and tea&coffee.
T.V. Reception not the best but internet was good and worked well with smart TV.
Very warm and relaxing space to unwind and enjoy the local area.

Lovely short break at Gardener’s cottage. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Nestled in a stunning wooded estate, the location was most relaxing & very central for touring.
Our Hosts Anne & Martin went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. Welcome pack upon arrival was much appreciated.
We look forward to returning!

Great place for when you need to escape from a busy work life. Ann and Martin have thought of everything you may need to make your stay perfect, including treats on arrival. Very dog friendly accommodation and a fab beach for dogs just a few miles away. Just wish they could have provided better weather!! Will definitely book again.

Gardeners cottage is one of our best finds yet, everything was just outstanding, cleanliness, equipment, bedding, facilities (especially for the dog) even down to the little dog tag, everything has been really well thought out. We had a brilliant week and were very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and tranquil, just what was required to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. Well done Anne and Martin for providing such a top quality holiday home away from home and thankyou for the lovely welcome goodies, wine, milk, eggs, cake and the treats for the dog. Just a fabulous place!

We have stayed at Tallentire hall before and this time was just a wonderful as the first time. Great hosts and great location.
We stayed for 3 nights and we never feel it is long enough. Gardeners Cottage was gorgeous and we felt super comfy during our stay. The hosts are attentive and friendly and it feels like you are popping to stay with a friend. We plan to visit again, and as a bonus we found a lovely little pub in Gilcrux that serves gluten free food.

The cottage is situated in the perfect spot for visiting the Northern Lakes and coast . It is very comfortable and clean, set in lovely surroundings. A very generous welcome pack is awaiting you. This is the third time of visiting one of the cottages.

Communication was spot on right from my first enquiry. I was expecting a nice cottage in a nice area, what I didn’t expect was a lovely warm welcome for both of us and Millie our dog. The cottage was exactly as described and very comfortable. The dog park was absolutely great for off lead time. I had no worries about my dog being in the cottage as everything was provided including a crate,dog treats and covers for the sofa. There was even a dog shower nearby ! The weather was perfect so we were lucky and although we only had 2 days to explore the area, Gardeners cottage was a lovely base to return to. On our last night we enjoyed a fire pit with our wine, a perfect end to a few day’s away. The grounds are lovely to explore and it was so quiet.

My husband and I loved our stay at gardeners cottage for our anniversary. Ann and Andrew were brilliant hosts and made our stay special going above and beyond. We had a lovely walk of the grounds, they are breathtaking. We sat by the fire pit with a glass of prosecco at night. We had everything we needed, I could not fault anything. The cottage is perfect! We will be back.

We had a wonderful four night stay stay at Gardeners Cottage. Ann was such a friendly host and nothing was to much trouble. The welcome pack for us and the dog was greatly appreciated. The Cottage is furnished to a very high standard and everything you could possibly need is provided. Its decorated so well. We loved the peace and the beautiful grounds. It was great to stay somewhere so dog friendly. It was a short drive to many places. We enjoyed our evenings chilling at the Cottage.

We recently stayed at Tallentire Hall, I booked at short notice, but Ann was very interactive with me and I was impressed with her friendliness. The cottage was lovely and homely, exceptionally clean, everything on hand and beautiful towels, bedding etc and the same for our dog. A great welcome package too. The grounds of the Hall are impressive and the village is clean and so quiet. Genuinely caring hosts and great value for the week. Will certainly visit again.

What had an excellent stay here. The cottage was very well equipped; we were very impressed with the attention to detail which made our stay easier and more comfortable. The cottage had everything we needed. The drying cupboard was a fantastic addition as I walked everyday. The kitchen had all you needed. A lovely welcome pack awaited us to. Such good value for money. The owners introduced themselves and were very down to earth. I would say to anyone to stay here, they will not be disappointed. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Gardeners Cottage is set in the beautiful grounds of Tallentire Hall, Gardeners Cottage has everything you need to make your holiday just right including a welcoming pack and some special treats for the our dog. The open plan lounge kitchen is perfectly set out with a smart tv and a comfy sofa and the kitchen has has everything you need, off the lounge is a dining room with a lovely reading chair to sit in and a few books to read too the bathroom is downstairs with the shower in the bath. Upstairs is a King sized bed and plenty of storage for your clothes. Outside you can wander around the ground and there’s an enclosed pen to let your pooch stretch there legs without the worry of them wandering off, in fact there’s even a dog wash just Incase they get a bit muddy on a walk.
Tallentire is about three mile away from Cockermouth which has an array of supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and shops. All in all Gardeners cottage is in the perfect location for visit the Lake District. Ann and Martin was on hand if needed but everything was just perfect and we will definitely be staying again in fact we have already booked for later this year.

In a tiny village just off the main road, this cottage has everything you need. Nestled away in beautiful gardens it is so quiet that you cannot help but feel rested after your stay.
Finished to an extremely high standard and with plenty of room for two,
Ann has thought of everything right down to the chocolate brownies!!
Not our first visit and definitely won’t be our last!

The accommodation is located in a lovely village and well positioned for exploring the North & Western areas of the Lakes. Well presented & well equipped and comfortable. Lovely added treats provided by the owners which was well appreciated. Would return without question.

We were really impressed by Gardener's Cottage, a great location for visiting the North Lake District perfectly positioned for the coast and the national park so the best of both worlds. The house is very comfortable and cosy, it has everything you could need including basics like tea/coffee/sugar/salt/dishawasher tablets/foil etc but it was the extra thoughtful small touches that really made our stay. Treats, tags, towels and blankets for our dogs as well as a warm shower room complete with shampoo and all the dog essentials you might have forgotten. There's also a fenced and gated dog paddock in the grounds. Then there was wine and cake for us! We were only there for 2 nights as a stopover on a multi-part trip but we will definitely be back.

Ann from Tallentire Hall reached out to us after seeing our desperate Facebook post where we were staying in a really disgusting filthy holiday accommodation with no heating at new year.

She offered us Gardeners Cottage at Tallentire Hall at a really good rate which was incredibly generous of her and she saved our holiday. Both Ann and Martin are lovely people and fantastic hosts.

Gardeners cottage was clean, warm, bright and extremely comfortable and well equipped. The bed was a total dream ♥️ We could not have asked for more and would definitely return in the future!

Had a lovely first stay at Gardeners Cottage. The cottage is beautiful, spotlessly clean, cosy, and very well appointed with lovely views across the garden. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The digital downloadable guide received prior to my visit was extremely helpful.

Well located for the Lake District and Cumbrian coast, both only a short drive away. This trip was only over a couple of days, far too short to fully appreciate and explore. I hope to return very soon, I can imagine how lovely the grounds will look through the different seasons.

I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Our third stay in Gardener's Cottage and fully intend to return.
Really feels like a home from home, clean, comfortable and with all necessary modern amenities, but in a lovely quirky old building set in beautiful grounds in which to see the glorious sunsets over the Solway Firth.
Tallentire is a secluded, peaceful location, but only 10 minutes from Cockermouth and an excellent base for exploring the northern lakes, the Solway coast and surrounding areas.
A super welcome pack is provided and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
