What an amazing property hidden in South West Scotland. A credit to the owners and all involved with the property. Truly a home from home with spectacular scenery

What a fantastic holiday. Lodges are equipped with everything you can think of. Spacious and immaculate inside and out. The views over to Fleet Bay are fabulous. Plenty of wildlife and birds to see, including daily visits from red kites. The Dumfries and Galloway area has something for all ages. We'll definitely be back soon!

This was our second visit to Gatehouse Luxury Lodges and we again enjoyed the comfort of these well designed lodges with plenty of space, natural light and of course the fantastic views. The beds are comfortable and spacious, the bathrooms well equipped and the kitchen has all that is needed for preparing meals. The separate utility room with washer and drier is also a benefit when staying for a week or longer. The country location is peaceful and is a short drive from nice little towns and lovely beaches. There are lots of opportunities for walking and cycling. Dark skies make for star gazing but we were in bed too early and missed the Northern Lights display!

A superb lodge in a glorious setting. Cairn Lodge was a very uplifting place to stay, with stunning views and well thought out accommodation. The view was enhanced by many red kites, entertaining crows and somewhat domesticated looking rabbits.
There are good walks from the doorstep, and plenty to see and do in the area. Wonderful outside space if it’s warm, but it’s a calm retreat if the wind is howling and a great place to watch the rain clouds blow through.

This was our second visit to Cairn Dyke, it was so good first time.

The Lodge is in an excellent location above Gatehouse of Fleet with stunning views and well equipped with everything we needed. Lots to do and visit in and around the area. Hope to be back.

Stayed here for the weekend with 3 generations of my family. Beautiful lodge, has everything you need the views when you walk in the front door is amazing. Weather was amazing too. Short easy driving distance to a lot of towns and villages. Great location.

Comfortable lodge with stunning views. Had a very pleasant 2nd stay and would return. Liked the addition of the log burner in Cairn Dyke. Lots to do within the area. Would recommend a trip to Bladnoch Distillery, great tour. Would recommend a trip to Threave gardens. The local pub, The Masonic Arms serves a good Sunday carvery. Local spar shop is well stocked.
Bathrooms would benefit from some type of shelves to sit toiletries. Bedrooms would benefit from having a mirror in them. Would be good to be able to use the Sonos sound system in individual rooms rather than the whole lodge.
Would be nice to have outdoor chairs and perhaps a bbq to enjoy the views in good weather.
All in all another great weekend stay.

We booked last minute after New Year and owners were amazing sorting everything for us. Cairn Dyke is an absolutely stunning lodge in a beautiful rural location. The property was immaculately clean and we received a lovely welcome gift. Lodge is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a break away and beautifully decorated throughout . Views from the living area are spectacular especially on crisp sunny mornings. The wood stove enhances the cosiness of the lounge at night . You could almost touch the stars out back at night . Would highly recommend a stay here and will definitely be back . Donald was extremely helpful highlighting local eateries and beaches to visit . Castle Douglas is nearby and a trip to The Gather nearby too is a must for a meal or a lunch. We had glorious winter sunshine and a day at Carrick beach a few miles from lodge was a great treat for us and our young son .

We stayed in Cairn Dyke Lodge and it was beautiful. The lodge is extremely well equipped with very spacious rooms and beautiful interiors. This made for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The huge windows in the open plan area look out over a stunning view and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area. For anyone looking to escape a busy life for a few days, this is the perfect place for instant relaxation.

Eight family members and new baby enjoyed a long weekend at both Cairn Dyke and Ocean View as we had a family wedding at nearby GG’s Yard. Lovely spacious lodges, high end quality showers, extremely comfortable beds, fantastic panoramic views in quiet location. James made us feel very welcome and was on hand for any queries. Would love to have stayed for longer and would not hesitate to come back when we’re in the area. Just perfect for what we were looking for. *****
