The cottage exceeded all our expectations, it seems that it was completely refurbished very recently, all fixtures and fittings are as new. The outdoor hot tub added excitement and fun to our stay, and the fire place filled the cottage with an unforgettable aroma.

We stayed here for theee days and it made me feeling rather regretful to leave! The hot tub can take a while to heat up but is no issue with some planning and is amazing to relax in.

We loved our stay at Slatehouse Cottage- helped by mostly beautiful warm weather. The views from every window were vibrant green and the house had a calming effect on us. We are keen walkers and really enjoyed the Castle trail, especially the Arwen Trail with its superb view of the Castle from above. We enjoyed the riverside walk along the Nith to Burnmouth and back by the lane, appreciating the beautiful colours of azaleas along the way. The cottage was comfortable and easy to live in. We enjoyed eating outside once Gillian brought us a parasol.

Everything was perfect for our family get together. The house, the comfort, the environment. Plenty of walks on the Estate and locally.
Great play area for the children on the Estate itself.
Ideal for all age groups and wonderful time had by all.
We highly recommend this property.

Thank you for another wonderful stay at Slatehouse cottage. It is beautiful and incredibly well maintained. Everything was immaculate and in great condition. The kids loved the space outside and the nearby adventure playground. It is also 30 mins from Dalscone Farm Park which is great for little ones. Not as many options to eat nearby but great facilities in the cottage including a BBQ. Thanks very much.

Our family enjoyed our stay enormously , so relaxed and it felt we were totally in the beautiful countryside.everything was to a very high standard and decorated beautifully. We would absolutely love to go at another time. Loved it x

We were very pleased with both the location and the quality of the accommodation. Modern layout and good quality appliances helped to make our stay happy and relaxed.

Great location, a super clean cottage, which was beautifully presented. We loved the log fired hot tub. Once we knew that we could request logs, firefighters and kindling for both the hot tub and wood burning fire, to be dropped in as required, this made using it even better.

Only negatives to our stay - the cottages would benefit from better on-road sign posting - as it took a long time to locate them. And instructions for the hot tub to be made available - as would some chlorination - as it was wasteful to have to empty the water out daily.

A really nice place to stay for a few day's. Very happy with everything except the drains outside was very smelly apart from that our stay was amazing.

We couldn’t fault the cottage at all, everything was spotlessly clean and of very high standard from the furnishings and fittings to the comfort of the beds and the quality of the linen and towels. The large enclosed area outside was ideal for the children and our 2 dogs.
Ideally situated within walking distance of Drumlanrig Castle with it’s spectacular gardens and childrens play area (unfortunately the castle itself was not open which was a bit disappointing).
Perfect for a peaceful, relaxing break.

Statehouse Cottage was just perfect ! The location is beautiful and cottage was so tastefully decorated and had every single thing we required for our stay.
Erin was so helpful before hand with correspondence and even popped up to introduce herself. Nothing was a problem.
It was wonderful to see all the lambs playing outside the cottage and was so calming.
We will definitely be back. Thank you.

We enjoyed a lovely relaxing, peaceful stay at this beautiful cottage which has superbly appointed accommodation presented to a very high standard. The beds were very comfortable, the handbook a great source of information with subtle branding, and the kitchen well serviced.
Walks throughout the estate were easy to find. Erin was our contact and she did everything she could to inform us of local amenities.

Our stay was 2 families of 4 meeting in this great location and utilising Slatehouse Cottage. I was familiar with the area and had always admired the location of Slatehouse Cottage. I was very impressed with the conversion works to create the holiday cottage. The freedom of walking in the parkland/policies and alongside the River Nith was great. We did the castle tour and enjoyed the adventure playground lots. The children thought the bike ride from Rik's Bike Shed was great with a tandem tag-along being available. The office dealt with a couple of very minor issues very swiftly which was great.

Would thoroughly recommend a trip to stay in Slatehouse Cottage.

Slatehouse was lovely stay in the modern accommodation. Erin was very helpful always on hand where needed with four double bedrooms and huge open plan living room dinning area and stunning scenery you will enjoy your break away.

If your lucky the wild animals might come right up to the accommodation. Got fright of my life when woke up in the morning .
