Wonderful accommodation for a family of 4 couples (8 people) and dogs. Location was excellent with several great walks. The family loved the jacuzzi.
We booked Montagu for 5 days as a short break, the cottage was stunning and had everything you needed. Very peaceful with lovely grounds to explore. We had a slight issue with dead flies on arrival, around 20 of these but cleaned it up, a couple of days later at the top of the stairs there were around 30 flies buzzing around the window area, we used the fly spray provided but it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Lovely cottage, everything was very good. Could have had more glasses. E.g only 2 champagne flutes. 2 more chairs in kitchen would have been good. Bench not very comfortable.Cosy warm cottage.
A fantastic w'end for all 9 friends, hiring both cottages as next door to each other. Fantastic location, great weather and a brilliant time had by all. We are rebooking for next year to do it all again. Many thanks to Buccleuch Estates.
The accommodation was immaculate - so clean, tidy and well kept it looked brand new! All the rooms are spacious and the roomy bathroom and well appointed kitchen made our stay very comfort indeed. A fantastic location, right at the heart of the estate, next to the castle which revealed itself as we came up the drive. There is ample parking and plenty to do around the grounds including the Castle Tea Rooms where I enjoyed a fabulous Sunday roast and the Larchwood Cabin Cafe, situated next to the adventure playground, from where you can access the extensive gardens. Great accomodation, well maintained and spotlessly clean. The enclosed garden with bbq was a bonus!
Very comfortable accommodation, perfect location and quiet with good parking. Ate in evening restaurant at Tearoom and the meal was superb
As always, I had a lovely stay but the cleaning service that is used really lets the managers and the property down badly. On this, my fifth trip…long thick black curly hair on the bed, a handful of thick black hair left in the toilet bowl, two pubic hairs on another toilet bowl, some surfaces covered in food and drink detritus, my dog was scraping underneath a radiator and when I looked underneath, I found piles of dust and hair and…half a hot dog!!!
