I have been coming for years to marble lodge with my dog , this time my youngest got through the broken fence not once but 3 times. I reported and maintenance came out to repair the first hole but whole fence full of holes and needs repaired. Even the gate is broken.. would’ve thought this would have been done before allowing dogs to visit. Thank goodness no sheep around / or cars which she would been underneath and thankfully she didn’t go far as we would never have found her if she did . We were in garden at the time as always but didn’t see hole (s) till she was through them. Meant the whole holiday was spent around monitoring fence when at house

Wow, wow, wow. This is truly a special place to stay. It is about a 20-25-minute drive into the estate past the main entrance for the Blair Castle, but it is so worth it. How often can you be entirely on your own (other than the sheep!) in a glen in Scotland with a beautiful river and stunning mountains just outside your door? The interior is more "rustic" than a high-end, modern home, but it goes with the experience. You feel as if you are part of the history of this home. The main bedroom bed is equivalent to a US double/full, but it was very comfortable and had quality linens. The second bedroom is much bigger. It was just two of us, so we used the floor space in the second bedroom to spread out our suitcases. The kitchen is well-equipped and easy to use. The "family room" is so cozy, with two small sofas and a fireplace. Wood was provided. Signs recommend not drinking or using the water to brush your teeth, but large bottles of water were provided (extras in the barn). The sheep are frequent visitors. We got groceries in Aviemore on the way down from Inverness. There is not a large grocery close by, so I recommend this. Easy visit to the castle and gardens (we did them over two days) and gorgeous hikes right from the lodge. We certainly see why families stay here over and over again. If it is available, book it!!

We had a magical stay at the Marble lodge.
We are still a little bit in aww about the beautifull view we had every day.
The little cottage between the beautifull, magical mountains!!
The place is a reel zen place. We went to the water a couple of times and we enjoyed great walks.
We did our first Munro and we are hooked. Blair Castle is great to visit.
We hope to come back. It had a special place in our hearts!!

We really enjoying our stay at Marble Lodge, the cottage itself was really comfortable and well equipped, but it's the location that really makes this place special.
Great walks from the doorstep, we were able to bag some local munro's, and made use of the free pass to the castle too where we were able to see some beautiful antiques as well as learn more of the history of the estate and owning families.
Will definitely be looking at other properties available for future visits.

You cannot beat the location with fantastic walks from the door and wildlife. Fishing on beat 2 productive. Glen Tilt is a beautiful Glen. Cottage comfortable warm and welcoming with all facilities you would want. Bottled water for drinking didn’t impact our break. Shower pressure is low but plenty of hot water. We loved our stay and will be back

The Marble Lodge is located in a secluded, beautiful setting along the River Tilt and surrounded by high glens that make this stay so relaxing. The lodge is modern, very comfortable and well-appointed. We could have stayed much longer! We enjoyed lots of hiking, exploring, Blair Castle, town of Pitlochry and a wonderful dinner at the Loft Restaurant. Highly recommend stay. Of note, it’s approximately 6 miles down a dirt road. It’s very navigable but we had a small rental car and it was a bit of bumpy ride to and from the lodge.

Rented the lodge for my elderly parents. Unfortunately we didn’t appreciate the single track 5 mile road to get there with not many passing places so on their arrival they had to reverse for several metres whilst a massive tractor came towards them. We also got stuck in some gravel leaving the cottage as cars were trying to pass to get to the other lodge.They only left once a day due to the condition of the road. Cottage in immaculate condition with amazing views. Ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle only negative is the road to get there.

We loved the location of this cosy cottage - 5 miles up an unmade track. We made full use of the walks and peaks on our doorstep and enjoyed the remoteness. We saw oyster catchers, deer, red grouse and so much more. Cottage is cosy and clean and has everything you need. WiFi was very stable. The shower was a little slow in terms of pressure but not an issue for us.

The booking information for the lodge or pre-arrival information does not disclose that the tap water in the lodge cannot be consumed. This extends to even being unable to use the tap water to brush teeth, rinse food or wash dishes without either using boiled water or the bottled water supplied ( and transported in from Wales!).
The sign explaining that the water cannot be consumed is also not right beside the tap in the kitchen and so could easily be missed. There is also no information to let you know that additional bottles are kept in the shed outside should you run out.
All of this information should be included within the booking details as leaving this out feels misleading. We would likely not have booked to come here had we known.
I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you don’t mind using bottled water for everything bar washing yourself.

This was our first visit to Marble Lodge and we will definitely be returning! The cottage is beautiful and located in a stunning Glen. The peaceful location along with beautiful walks and fresh air made the stay amazing. Our kids are 8 years old and spent the holiday playing around the river and running around the Glen. We visited Blair Atholl castle which was included in our stay and loved that too.
The cottage is extremely comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay.

Amazing place for people liking nature and walks. Very quiet secluded and beautiful location! Standard of lodge very high for this type of place - small inconvenience with drinking water supply but thoughtfully drinking and cooking water supplied and very clear instructions for safety. Marble Lodge is the perfect balance between remote solitude and modern conveniences. The WiFi coverage is excellent in the lodge. There is no television, but why would you need it? We loved the laundry for cleaning the mud off our hiking gear, the giant bathtub/ shower for soaking our sore muscles, and the fireplace to read, relax and perhaps sip some whisky.
Everyone we interacted with on the Blair Athol Estate staff was fantastic! There really is nothing like interacting with people who enjoy what they do and do it very well. From my first contact to reserve the lodge, to making sure we were settled in comfortably, we felt welcome.
Within the week I was at Marble Lodge, I started to feel like this cottage was mine, my comfortable home where I can recharge my body and soul. Each morning I woke gently and refreshed, and enjoyed my coffee surrounded by the majesty of the hills, the gentle sound of the running river, and the bleating of the sheep who live on the estate. If you are an explorer of nature, a hillwalker, a hiker or just in need of solitude, Marble Lodge is the place for you.
It is my goal to return every year.

Marble Lodge is an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life with only sheep as neighbours. Views to the surrounding hills uplift the spirits. While the cottage itself is comfortable with all you need to cater for a week long stay. The only disappointing thing was the need to use bottled water all the way from Wales! A filtered tap would be much more in suiting with the area.

Marble Lodge is located in a beautiful quiet part of Glen Tilt, next to the River Tilt. As an “off-grid” escape, 5 miles along a private gravel track, it is perfect. The open fire, well stocked with wood & coal, was wonderful on a chilly March weekend. The kitchen is small but well equipped, but why have a dishwasher if it doesn’t work? It has 1 bathroom, and my advice would be to have a bath as the shower is poor. There were only 2 of us, so my wife taking a bath wasn’t a problem, as I had a very quick shower. I don’t know if 4 people would have enough hot water. The double bedroom is small but adequate, but the mattress is very soft, fine if you like soft mattresses. I’m not a fan. Wifi didn’t work and there’s no mobile signal. Not a problem for us, but if you go there and expect internet, you may be disappointed. Overall, we had a wonderful couple of days, the points above didn’t spoil our stay, however others may be less accommodating. We used to work in the alpine chalet business, and found over the years, clients increasingly wanted more for less.
