Located on the private Graythwaite Estate and edged by woodlands, guests at Cunsey Lodge can expect to enjoy outstanding panoramas stretching down to Lake Windermere. In the evenings you can enjoy stargazing from the wood-fired hot tub, with a glass of Prosecco or Graythwaite Ale, brewed on the Estate!

Cunsey Lodge is a beautiful property, with great views over Windermere. Our stay was problematic with storms and so out of the control of Graythwaite Estates staff, but they did what they could to accommodate us in a nearby property so we could make the most of our long weekend. So I can also vouch for Field Head House which had lots of space and was nicely furnished as a much older style. Also great to have the activity company on site.

Poor Cunsey Lodge every surface was sticky so much so that we had to lift the table mats off with a knife, not one surface felt clean
1 of the bathroom sinks was unusable due to a defective pipe, it was reported & the maintenance man turned up swiftly but it was still unusable when we left as he has not returned with the part, the part which I could have ordered online and had it fixed next day.
Light fittings in 2 bathrooms were full of dead flies and the lighting was very poor
The sofa was filthy and so uncomfortable there was literally no place apart from the beds where you could get comfortable
The windows were filthy we don't mind the House Martin or Bat poo or even cobwebs but dead flies on windows and window sills just not clean.
It could be amazing, The View The Location but Poor Cunsey Lodge needs some TLC
The kitchen was nice and bright it had everything you would need, the rooms were lovely & spacious

The 2024 Dove Cottage Reunion went very well, due in no small measure to the facilities available at Cunsey Lodge. The building is well designed, comfortable, and was particularly effective for group cooking. It would have been useful to have had a dustpan, brush and broom available.

We visited Cunsey Lodge at the beginning of August. It has a really spacious living area which is excellent for entertaining, it is clean and the bathrooms are very modern and light.
The view from the front bedrooms is wonderful and the property has a hot tub and firepit which we used every day. It was lovely to relax and overlook the lake whilst sat chilling in the hot tub. All bedrooms are ensuite so you get your own privacy too if sharing the property with others.

Our group of eight, 2 families with 2 adults and 2 teen/tween kids each, stayed at Cunsey Lodge for 4 nights. It was the perfect setup for our group! With two bedrooms having twin beds, each kid was able to have their own bed which they much appreciated and the large number of bathrooms meant that no one was waiting. The large, well stocked kitchen made it convenient to prepare meals, which we did each night for dinner and each morning for breakfast. And the large dining table enabled us to eat together, which was a plus for the birthday meal we celebrated while there for one of the kids. The mudroom was a nice size and we made good use of it so we weren't tracking mud and wet through the house after our outdoor activities. We also loved the outdoor space and took advantage of the hot tub and fire pit each evening, made possibly by the generous amount of wood provided. The little extras that were waiting upon arrival, including coffee and biscuits, were also a nice touch. We hope to stay there again someday!

Lovely space in the lodge for a large family gathering. The bathrooms were great apart from a leaky shower in one of the twin rooms. There was not a wardrobe in one of the twin rooms which was a bit of a problem having to share one in another room. For the cost of the property I would expect a little more such as a coffee maker, better quality cutlery, sharper knives. The use of the pool was a good addition although it would benefit from a door to the shower and changing areas with hooks to hang clothes on. The back to back booking meant there was no privacy for showering and changing before the next group came in. The shop was sometimes closed earlier than stated on the website.overall we had a lovely holiday but I was a little disappointed with the overall quality considering the cost to hire.

We stayed here for a wedding at Silverhome. It was a splendid weekend and the Lodge fitted the bill brilliantly. Everything very tidy and clean. The hot tub was a lovely bonus that we enjoyed on Saturday morning as part of my daughters birthday celebrations. The only minor issue is that some of the furniture is starting to look a little tired – particularly the three-piece suite downstairs.. Otherwise lovely and recommended

This is a lovely house and provides good space for a family get together however for the money it needs more attention to detail.
All the mattresses need replacing as you can feel the springs and give an uncomfortable sleep.(we got one changed while we were there, along with a couple of other issues that were dealt with efficiently)
Kitchen bin needs replacing as cracked and the pedal doesn’t work, no bin liners supplied.
A lot of the windows were difficult to open due to sealant and loose handles.
Many of the dining chairs were wobbly and the backs were loose.
Well equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery and pans etc. but only one single oven glove.
The setting of the house the space in the house and the hot tub was lovely and we did enjoy our stay but hope that this constructive criticism helps to make it better value for money.

Fabulous spot, lovely surroundings, well equipped lodge with great amenities. Within easy reach of the ferry to Hawkshead and some beautiful walks. Loved the welcome goodies and also the 4 lovely ensuite bedrooms - bathrooms top notch, underfloor heating kept us toasty and warm. However the condition of some of the furnishings are tired -stained carpets, footstool of the sofa threadbare and the mattresses on the beds are very uncomfortable - could feel lots of lumps and bumps/springs. Overall we had a great week, loved the setting, the walks and the hot tub.

The lodge was the perfect getaway for family and friends to celebrate a birthday with a gorgeous view of the lake from the front, which made an amazing sunrise experience, and forest from the back. The location was just what we wanted, secluded but not too far from the estate shop and communal areas and the local attractions of lake cruise and aquarium if you’re looking for something extra to do. The lounge fire made for perfect cozy nights in with drinks and games as well as Netflix on the main TV. Overall, the lodge is the perfect winter getaway

A great property for our family getaway where family members came and went throughout the week including our dogs and our 2 year old grandson. Location was good with plenty of parking space for us all. The view of the lake from the property was lovely - you can cut through the fields in front straight down to the river and follow the trail for a nice walk that takes you back to the property in a loop.

There is plenty of space inside the property, it was ideal having en-suites for all bedrooms and a large kitchen for our BBQ prep - the property was stocked with everything we needed! The outside area was fantastic for dining and having drinks, however there is no shade or umbrellas which would have preferred with grandparents and toddlers in the heat. Highly recommend using the hot tub!

The only negatives would be that the outside area is very open so our dogs/children could easily wander onto the road and the fastenings on many of the widows were loose or even broken.

Overall, it has been a very relaxing and enjoyable week at the property. Damian, Paul, Sarah, Claire and the chap who installed the new Smart TV deserve a shout out, as they were on hand whenever we needed!

A great family house or 4 couples. 4 equal bedrooms all with own ensuite so no need for any squabbling! Pleny of space. Hot tub was used a lot by the men. Probably not a brilliant outdoors for toddlers as lots of steps and open. 5 minutes walk to lake for a swim. It says on website that this house is no longer available. We hope this is not the case!

Cunsey Lodge was clean and comfortable, in a beautiful quiet location. It was ready on our arrival. The house was spacious and every bedroom was en-suite. There was a small welcome pack. Beds were comfortable although the pillows were awful - flat and pretty useless, we would bring our own next time! Easy access via the ferry to Bowness and Windermere. Several good pubs within easy driving distance. Several other Graythwaite Estate cottages nearby and we would definitely try another one next time .

We stayed here for three nights and were extremely comfortable. The pictures on the website don't do the house justice at all, which may explain why it was still available when all other similar places were booked up. The house is extremely spacious and was enjoyed by my very elderly parents who were particularly delighted with the choice of bath or shower.

A lovely modern warm home with stunning views and great walks from the door. Well equipped kitchen ideal for home cooking. Takes a little while to get the hot tub heated but then keeps it’s heat wonderful to sit in and admire the views whatever the weather. When we needed any advice the staff were very helpful and efficient. Excellent stay thank you.

We have stayed at Cunsey Lodge previously, we loved it, and wanted to return, so it was a perfect opportunity to celebrate my husbands birthday. We were not disappointed, spotlessly clean, warm, plenty of room . We had a changeover of guests midway, all clean bed linen and towels delivered, with no hiccups at all.
So thank you to Cunsey, and all the staff, for making our stay special.

A lovely property, plenty of space and well equipped for a family holiday. The customer service from Emma on the estate was faultless and she couldn’t do enough for us. The property was clean but a little general maintenance is required but didn’t disrupt our holiday. Located well in a prime position with the added extra of a wood fuelled hot tub at the property and pool in the courtyard area. Over all a lovely family holiday in a beautiful location!

A lovely place to stay with very good accommodation, well equipped and very clean. The family had a great time there. Plenty to do activity wise if you wanted to. Lovely countryside and lake. Swimming pool was very good. Since Cunsey accommodation was quite expensive expected everything to be perfect. Some window locks need attention. Internet failed on Saturday, informed customer service on Sunday morning, and they were not able to look into it until the Monday morning when we were leaving at 9.30am. They could do with having IT support over the weekend. We were informed later that it was an area failure not Graythwaite system failure. No internet was a problem for us but we still had a great stay.
