We so enjoyed our stay at Dove Cottage Graythwaite. The cottage has been recently re decorated to a very high standard and was very comfortable. Beautiful views of the park which was full of lambs. Azeleas and rhododendrons were just beginning to come in to bloom in the gardens. A lovely time of year to visit the Lake District.
Top Notch! Lovely cottage in compelling locations. We could not have had a nicer time. Will certainly go again!
Perfect property and location for meeting up with family. Quiet and comfortable. Looking forward to staying again!
Lovely setting in a quiet part of the Lakes, with plenty of space & privacy. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Thoroughly recommend all aspects of this estate.
Attened a wedding we all had a lovely weekemd such a beutiful location everything was great fantastic
Fantastic place to get all the family together under one roof x beautiful surrounding and easy local walks. Swimming every day but able to run back for a hot bath. Plenty of space for everyone. My favourite place Penny
The pictures on the website doesn’t do justice to the place, it’s the most amazing place ever the view is out of this world. Waking up in the huge master bedroom having breakfast on the patio looking at the lake and afternoon tea on our balcony we just didn’t feel the need to go anywhere else. And chilling by the fire pit at night eating s’mores we just want to go back
A group of us stayed for the weekend whilst attending a wedding. The house was finished to a really high standard, kitchen has all the utensils, pots/pans etc you'd need. We were left some complimentary goodies on arrival, and the farm shop also coordinated a very last minute order from us which was there for our arrival.
Keepers Cottage is a large comfortable place on its own plot with plenty of parking available, so perfect for large family groups, or if you have friends along. This was my first time staying on the Graythwaite Estate, so I was a little bothered that it would be too isolated, but in the end those concerns were unfounded. It was really nice to be able to go on a variety of walks without having to drive anywhere, and the facilities at home farm and the various Graythwaite Adventure sites were super handy. We had six people staying in the cottage, and I think it would cope well with the ful...more
Fabulous venue for our family holiday. The cottage is small and would have been difficult if the weather had not been so good. Absolutely amazing lake frontage and access for paddle boarding and canoeing. Very difficult road to get down so wouldn't recommend if anyone is precious about their cars. Please could we suggest that new vacuum cleaner bags are supplied following a dog being in the premises. Otherwise, vacuuming just recycles the dog smell. Probably only a problem for people who don't have dogs.
A very comfortable cottage in an excellent location. Worth noting to use the patio with wonderful views of Windermere you have to walk through the main bedroom as this is an upside down house
Frying pan was not suitable for the induction hob. Some pans were stained and had possibly been burned. Toaster instructions were worn away. Handle didn't fit grill tray. Everything else was fine.
Great venue, some of the kitchen units a little tired and some repairs needed but maintenance very helpful.
The swimming pool could be open later. WiFi cloud connect is rubbish Oven buttons broken En-suite shower dribbles out Dishwasher tray has holes Baking trays don’t fit in the oven In general we have loved our stay this is our 6th time of coming back here. Just a few items which require attention.
We were pleased with the cottage, which was just right for 1 or 2 people and well equipped. Good system for using the pool as by booking you have it to yourself. Enjoyed walks from the cottage on the vast and beautiful Estate.
The location of this cottage is ideal, quiet secluded with its own communal picnic area and private access to Esthwaite lake shore to look out for the osprey's fishing. Hawkshead is 2 mile away for essentials, and Grizedale forest is only over the other side of the lake for longer walks. The cottage itself is in a converted farm and is clean and tidy, only possible issues are of you've got noises neighbours above you (which we didn't this year). There's other cottages available without upstairs neighbours on the same site if you require. Overall I love it up there, really relaxing and perfect...more
A lovely place to stay with very good accommodation, well equipped and very clean. The family had a great time there. Plenty to do activity wise if you wanted to. Lovely countryside and lake. Swimming pool was very good. Since Cunsey accommodation was quite expensive expected everything to be perfect. Some window locks need attention. Internet failed on Saturday, informed customer service on Sunday morning, and they were not able to look into it until the Monday morning when we were leaving at 9.30am. They could do with having IT support over the weekend. We were informed later that it was an...more
We did enjoy the week but the cottage needs some attention.. At the beginning I pointed out that the lack of fridge door shelves, which had I presume been broken and not replaced, meant that the small under counter fridge was totally inadequate for 6 people. I requested an extra fridge but did not get one. There were a few other maintenance issues eg,. the under worktop kitchen lights did not work and had no bulb, there was no tin opener though 2 bottle openers, part of the shower fixing was off and the upstairs toilet didn't flush reliably. Curtains were hanging off the hooks. Bench under the ...more
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Bassicks at the Greythwaite estate, its so tranquil and the rooms were lovely and big. All the facilities were provided and the swimming pool was great as we could book it for our own use - and very clean and spacious. The Childrens play area is well looked after and positioned in a safe grassed area close by. The only suggestion I would make is for a few more bits of information about immediate walks from the estate as I ended up on a 4x4 trail when I went looking for the Tarn nearby, I eventually found it just past the gate and up the hill. Its ...more
The cottage was lovely, and the beds were comfy. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything even a dishwasher. The grill handle had been broken and was just a piece of metal which gets very hot, so want idea but we dis have oven gloves. I was slightly disappointed in the cleanliness of the cottage, especially with the extra care that should be taken during covid. There were cobwebs on the wall and dried in food on the carpet around the dining table. The plastic in the shower hadn't been cleaned properly as they had little black mold spots on them, which when wiped come off. The shower screen w...more
A more modest Graythwaite property than some but in a nice rural position. We stayed during school term time and found it peaceful and relaxing with views outside across fields to Estwaite Water. Fridge is very small and under counter which made our small shopping delivery difficult to fit in. The property would benefit from a refurbishment which we understand has taken place in some of the other properties in this setting. That said we found this property a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay
Lovely cottage for our stay in the Lake District area. Really appreciated the welcome package. Very polite and helpfull staff. Good location within an easy reach of all activities. Highly recommended.
For the price paid, we don’t feel like it was value for money unfortunately. The cottage had been cleaned prior to our arrival, however, the overall level of cleanliness was relatively poor. The dining room chairs had dried food on them and were quite dirty. There were plenty of cobwebs and spiders making themselves comfortable in the cottage. I fully appreciate that there will be plenty of spiders in a rural area such as this, however, the least I expected was for the cleaner to actually remove the cobwebs! The beds were not very comfy. They weren’t terrible, but not great either. ...more
