We booked Low Graythwaite Hall in addition to Silverholme Manor for our wedding guests. It is a truly lovely unique property, there is plenty of communal spaces for sharing dinner and drinks with family and friends as well as the private sanctuary of very large comfortable bedrooms. The period features of the house are a wow factor and the little modern touches make it a home from home. Excellent location with views across the lake. Charming cottage with well equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting room. Great walking from the door.
Our second stay at Silverholme and it was as magical as the first. We have stayed in the heat of the Summer and in the frost of the winter and both have been completely difference experiences. We have had the best of both, BBQs and days on the lake and frosty walks, Dinners in the dinning room with a roaring fires and games. Can't wait for our next stay Magical!
This is the fourth time we’ve stayed in a Graythwaite property and haven’t once been disappointed. The properties are all brilliantly located and of a similarly high standard. We’ve not booked any activities this year, but have done so in the past and thoroughly enjoyed them. They are easy to book, loads to choose from and well organised. Home Farm is a really nice property, with lots of space for the whole family and two dogs. Located by the farm shop and near to the pool, but still feels very private. We will definitely be back and are already looking at booking again for next year.
The property was easily located and was clean and tidy although we thought the shower room could do with some attention. The shower door had no catch and could easily come open. The towel radiator never came on making it difficult to dry towels.
Another fabulous week at Hilltop . It is a great cottage and there are plenty of walks from the front door .
Another wonderful stay at a Graythwaite cottage. Lovely location and cottage well equipped and clean.
We have enjoyed our week in the Lakes. Have been coming to the estate for over 20 years - unfortunately it has become much more expensive and yet the cottage remains the same.
A great location and the most amazing scenery and access to beautiful Lake District The cottages are cosy and have everything you need We didn’t use the pool but wish we had it looked great!! I will definitely return and would recommend to anyone the variety of cottages for couples families friendship groups small and large Amenities on site and lovely walks A thoroughly great stay

We love this cottage. Our old dog wakes at 4.30 and standing in the garden, listening to the birds and deer and watched solstice sunrise in silence, is just perfect.
A charming cottage, tucked away in a quiet off-the-road area and 2 minutes walk from the lake shore. Clean and comfortable throughout.
My 5th return to the Graythwaite estate in recent years. The views from Dove Cottage were epic. The cottage was.clean & tidy, the welcome hamper a real treat. Do go if you want views, peace and quiet and tranquility. Don’t go if you want a pub less than 3 miles away
This was a special birthday celebration and did not disappoint. Accomodation very comfortable, bedrooms and bathrooms excellent and good showers. Plentiful hot water. Maybe the size of the kitchen had been sacrificed for the downstairs bedroom. It was modest for the size of the house but it worked for us. We had all we needed in terms of crockery and cooking utensils. Location outstanding. Maybe tell guests to bring their own hairdryer . I would return in a heartbeat and already planning a return to another Graythwaite property. Go to Hammerhole, you won't be disappointed.
The location and facilities are great, beautiful and spacious cottage. However evidence of damp and mould in bedrooms and bathroom meant we all struggled with breathing. Overall cleanliness wasn't great, under bed needed cleaning and windows were dirty. It's a shame as this has the potential to be great but was overshadowed by the mould. The smell was evident when entering property. There was no-one on site to speak to. Ended up leaving a day early as while family's breathing was impacted.
My Wife a I where invited to a wedding held on the Graythwaite Estate. Our time there was short which gave little time to explore the surrounding area. However we made the most of the time we had and i would be happy to recommend the locality to others looking for a quiet rural area with great natural beauty.
We have stayed at Graythwaite a number of times and always love it. This time was no exception. Great walks through the estate. Friendly and helpful staff. Cottage very comfortable and clean.
Grass Holme was a beautiful place to stay. Amazing views out across the lake from the patio we spent hours out there watching the world go by. Cu set is a very pretty area and there are various walks locally to do.
We had an amazing week staying at the Bull Pen. We loved the location, the shop and pool were great and we all enjoyed exploring the estate. The house was clean, well equipped and comfortable and was great for playing hide and seek! A great holiday and a fabulous place to stay.
Poor Cunsey Lodge every surface was sticky so much so that we had to lift the table mats off with a knife, not one surface felt clean 1 of the bathroom sinks was unusable due to a defective pipe, it was reported & the maintenance man turned up swiftly but it was still unusable when we left as he has not returned with the part, the part which I could have ordered online and had it fixed next day. We really enjoyed having such a comfortable home base with the pool and playground for our children and the walks we took through the property. The location was convenient for our sightseeing itinerary and a beautiful place to return to each evening. The kitchen was well supplied and all instructions we received prior to our stay were clear and helpful.
We stayed with our family of five. It was a short two night stay but the check in and out were easy. Accommodations were good. We would stay again.
We stopped at Hazelseat House for a week. The weather was kind to us which made things easier with 4 children under 4. The house was generally ok but the step out of the back double doors from the dining room was loose so it was dangerous together with the slabs on the wall in the back garden. The cushions for the outside chairs were a bit dirty. The hot water in the house was extremely hot and a warning sign would have been appropriate. This is our 5th stay at Windermere and was as nice as usual.The comfort and facilities are excellent. Well appointed kitchen,and bedrooms and plenty lounge space.
Beautiful cottage in a great location by a mill with direct access to Lake Windermere. The cottage was very cosy and dried us out after a very wet weather few days! The quiet and peaceful surroundings were just what we needed. Lovely walks and rope swings in woods nearby. Plenty of hot water and toiletries with fluffy towels to warm us up afterwards plus a nice welcome basket.
Our whole stay was superb thank you. Great instructions before arrival (inc how to book the pool). Place is spot on Everything you need (once we found the cutlery…our fault for not looking properly) There were 8 of us staying so every room was utilised and they were all really comfortable. Lounge are was really spacious and we never felt cramped at anytime. Had a relaxing 2 night stay with my teenage and 6 year old grandchildren. Thirlmere was very comfortable, the main areas of use clean and the kitchen well equipped. Lovely views from each window across to Esthwaite. The apartment is due for a springclean / repaint as some areas looking shabby, dusty however this didnt spoil our holiday. The ad states "fuel and power included", however there were no logs or matches for the stove as mentioned in previous reviews so I went prepared with my own supply. The location of the Graythwaite Estate is fantastic. It's a lovely estate, surrounded by nature and in close proximity to Lake Windermere. Upon arriving, we found a bag of goodies which was an unexpected delight. We had earlier enquired about body wash and shampoo, and were told it would be provided, so didn't bring our own. There was none at the cottage, and we were assured this would be provided later by Housekeeping when we raised this to the attention of the team. The whole property needs a refurbishment and the furniture and fittings are long past their best. On a positive note the grounds are lovely and there is plenty of easy parking. The shop on site is very handy.
My husband and I spent 5 nights at Loweswater cottage. It is a lovely spacious apartment near Esthwaite and just down the road from Hill Top - both are within walking distance. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was quiet and peaceful with beautiful views across fields down to the lake. The roads to reach the property are a small and winding, like many roads in the area, but it was easy to find. We received clear instructions about check in and details of the property. Highly recommended.
Lovely house, lovely estate. Spacious lounge. Kitchen had what you need, but not lots for making a roast or if you’re a lover of cooking big meals etc. No kids stuff (plastic crockery etc) but not sold as such so not surprising! Pool was fab. One night there were a fairly noisy bunch in the cottage above, so the other cottages a bit less risky if you’re a light sleeper!!
The above cottage was a lovely place to stay and we couldn't find any faults with it apart from there being no plug for the kitchen sink. We did find difficulty finding the cottage and think the directions were a bit confusing and also few sign posts Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bassenthwate. Regards, Roy Young
It was very quiet around the courtyard this year with only a few cottages filled. Jubilee cottage was clean when we arrived and any issues we had were dealt with swiftly. We will be back next year .
The drive to Buttermere was interesting with very tight country lanes, however, once there, the views were most definitely worth it. On arrival at Buttermere cottage we thought the place was a little dated and tired but had everything we needed and was more than suitable for our needs. The one time we required assistance from the maintenance side they were quick to help and sorted the problem with no fuss. The kitchen had everything you need to make the odd meal, but there is a small pub in walking distance in case you want to eat out. (you need to book as only a small pub) Overall, But...more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Field Hill House. The space and surroundings were just perfect for our first get away as a family. Waking up in the morning to look out over glorious countryside is exactly what we wanted from our holiday in the Lakes. We particularly liked how close the single bedroom was to both the sitting room and the master suite for our 7month old to sleep. This property is ideal for those attending a wedding at Silverholme Manor. However there were a couple of points which need addressing to further enhance the experience. The fridge small freezer door is missing which leads to the fridge leaking water onto the floor constantly. The shower is showing signs of age and needs the sealant renewing to eliminate the black mould marks.
The Esthwaite cottages are in a beautiful setting and clean with the things you need. Although some facilities were a little tired looking you have everything you need while on holiday and it s dog friendly. Sadly the cafe on the lake within a short walking distance is closing but the lake has given us many hours of pleasure for years so I hope at least the path to walk there and an area to sit will be maintained.
