Having stayed with you on 5 previous occasions once again we enjoyed our stay. However we prefer Windermere as the bathroom facilities were better and there we could sit with a view out of the window.

Had a relaxing 2 night stay with my teenage and 6 year old grandchildren.
Thirlmere was very comfortable, the main areas of use clean and the kitchen well equipped.
Lovely views from each window across to Esthwaite.
The apartment is due for a springclean / repaint as some areas looking shabby, dusty however this didnt spoil our holiday.
The ad states "fuel and power included", however there were no logs or matches for the stove as mentioned in previous reviews so I went prepared with my own supply.
Tv took a while for a self confessed technophobe to get working but after googling "how to use a firestick" and videocalling son in law, I managed to get a good choice of programmes. The aerial is for sky and doesnt fit that tv.
Maybe include some instructions for this in the info file and remove the sky instructions.
We would stay here again if in the area.

Third year now we've spent most of the week in the Lake District and used apartments/cottage with Graithwaite Estates.
Location is perfect for us,cottages/apartments always clean and well equipped.
It's only a couple of hours from where we live so very easy to get to.

Very comfortable bed and quality bedding. Poor condition and cleanliness of outside areas, low quality bathroom and toilet rolls and general upkeep of property.

This was our second stay at Esthwaite Howe cottages. The location is perfect for us as my husband likes to go pike fishing on Esthwaite Water. Accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable. The shower cubicle is very small and not easy to negotiate for someone with modest mobility challenges.
As this was our second visit we knew the shop wasn't actually on site. We gave directions to two other sets of guests who had expected to find the farm shop on site. The website, and joining instructions should make it much, much clearer how far away the shop actually is.

The peace and quiet was amazing, just what we needed. Lovely log fire was lush.
The only thing just for me was the stairs as I'm disabled and didn't realise but it was lovely. If I was to come back I would make sure we were on ground level and bring a raised toilet seat. Apart from the above it was so comfy and relaxing.

We had a lovely drive up to the property and then when we arrived there was no high chair or bed for my 20 month old child who was tired and I had to drive to the storage place 3 miles away to pick up a very dirty cot bed for my child and then use this for the evening whilst leaving my husband and 6 year old back at the house. Not a great start to a holiday. There was no assistance because the office closes at 4pm which is very surprising when guests are checking in at 4:30pm.
We loved the property but we did feel after staying in Dove cottage the year before with my mum that the cleanliness wasn’t up to scratch and there was dog hairs all over the dining table and the lounge carpet and the settee. It was quite off putting when you have children who want to play on the floor. Other than that, the Thirlmere is lovely for a family stay but I would like to see it thoroughly cleaned and for us to have a warm response when communicating with on site staff. The other area of concern is the check out being so early. It would be better if it was 10 or 11 and check in at 3pm befire any staff go home. We felt quite lost when we needed people to help especially with my child’s bed and the cleanliness.

The apartment was clean apart from the shower which was primitive like a caravan and had mould around the inside rim of the base. The water power was incredibly weak and either very hot or very cold. The bathroom also has a really annoying fan which runs for absolutely ages so we ended up using the toilet with phone torches so that it wouldn’t keep the children awake.
The apartment internal doors are cheap so didn’t sit properly and required to be forced to shut. There was no welcome pack so I had to work out myself why the sky tv wasn’t working by plugging the scarp in the back which came loose.
Clearly the Estate make a fair amount from these properties as they were all full during our time there but it doesn’t strike me that the company culture is particularly about value for money with such a poor bathroom for the price. Wouldn’t stay again.
Separately we loved the Graythwaite Adventure company and did archery, paddle boarding and canoeing excellently hosted by Tim & Olly. Highly recommended.

After the pandemic, we booked 4 holiday cottages (Thirlmere, Windermere, Buttermere, and Derwentwater) and my extended family enjoyed an amazing time together. There was so much to do locally and we made the most of the activities on offer with Graythwaite Adventure (Clay Pigeon Shooting, Archery, Stand-up Paddle-boarding, Kayaking.)
We also enjoyed a day at Esthwaite and saw the ospreys diving which was spectacular - lovely cafe there too.
Go Ape at Grizedale was a short drive away - and the roads on this side of Windermere were relatively quiet.
Lovely walking from the doorstep was enjoyed by three generations as we enjoyed perfect family time together, and for the more energetic not far to get up into the fells (we did Coniston Old Man.)
The grounds just outside the cottages were a fantastic playground for the younger children of the family, and the patio area outside Windermere was large enough for us all to enjoy BBQs together. (brought our own BBQ equipment.)
It was a truly wonderful week and we would definitely come back.

The cottage was lovely, and the beds were comfy. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything even a dishwasher. The grill handle had been broken and was just a piece of metal which gets very hot, so want idea but we dis have oven gloves.
I was slightly disappointed in the cleanliness of the cottage, especially with the extra care that should be taken during covid. There were cobwebs on the wall and dried in food on the carpet around the dining table. The plastic in the shower hadn't been cleaned properly as they had little black mold spots on them, which when wiped come off. The shower screen was clean and the rest of the bathroom. The bathroom radiator was constantly on and there is no window in there so in the heatwave we were having at the time it was uncomfortable. This was reported along with not enough towels left. Customer service was very good and they did deliver towels in a timely manner but nothing was done about the radiator and there was no thermostat on it to be able to turn down.
