Abacourt Cottage is a traditional Slate fronted Lakeland cottage with wonderful views across the rooftops towards the fells from the private terrace.

Comfortable and clean cottage, especially comfortable beds.
Our only problem was the parking. Access to the parking space is very narrow and arriving in the dark we pranged our brand new car! Coming in and out it took two people to guide the car out safely.

The cottage was lovely, very clean and homely. Everything was thought of from a welcome pack for the adults as well as a welcome pack for the dog, very thoughtful.
I put a four for comfort due to the stairs upto the loft room, the stairs were quite steep with no light, there was a light switch at the bottom of the staircase but this turned on the main light in bedroom which was so dim (it wasn’t working properly) the stairs stayed dark.

We had a great stay here for our week at the Keswick convention. The house had all the essentials and Keswick cottages were very helpful with any problems. We would have loved an outdoor area (the balcony was not very appropriate for the little ones).
It was wonderfully central, very clean and had comfy beds. We felt it was very expensive for what it was but no more so than everywhere in Keswick in the summer holidays.

Lovely stay. The accommodation suited our family group - grandparents (top floor), parents and children (middle floor).
A couple of things for improvement
1. a few more loo rolls would be nice
2. back inner door is a bit dodgy
There was a quick response to our boiler concern. It would be helpful to be given the out-of-hours mobile number from the beginning.

This is our third stay and we have booked again for next year. The house is ideally situated, within walking distance of local amenities, comfortably furnished yet quite private out the back. The house is spotlessly clean and there is a lovely view from the upstairs decking.
The car parking is quite tight at the back of the house so a smaller car is advised, however, there is an allocated parking space in the long stay car park that can be pre-arranged.
A mirror in the small upstairs toilet along with a shaving point would be handy, but not a deal breaker in any way.

A very cosy, convenient cottage for Keswick centre, very easy walking to all amenities. Parking a bonus with the car behind the property, although unless you get the angle just right when coming out of the space, it can appear to be a bit tight to get onto the lane to get out again!

A shavers point in the bathroom and a mirror above the sink in the top floor toilet would be handy.

Cottage near town centre so easy access to restaurants, shops and all the facilities.
An easy walk to the lake and to parks. Dogs welcome and many gentle walks close by.
The property was spotlessly clean, very warm and welcoming.

We stayed here for two nights to climb Scafell Pike. It’s a 30 minute drive from Seathwaite where we started the hike.
The pictures don’t do the house justice, the property is clean and well furnished. The kitchen was a little on the small side but it wasn’t a problem for us. I highly recommend the property and I would definitely stay there again.

Handy to have toilet attached to top room, and bathroom was clean and modern. The boot space near back door was very helpful. We enjoyed being a short walk from everything we needed in Keswick.
Car parking space at the back was quite tight and you do have quite a few people walking passed the front window.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, and Keswick staff were very responsive, but compared to other cottages we have stayed in, we felt for the high price, there was a lack of a attention to detail, and the cottage apart from bathroom had not been improved for quite a long time, sofa’s could have been more comfortable, and more spare toilet roll left.

A lovely cottage, great position for shops and parks, we had a good week at Abacourt, kitchen was on the small size but had everything we needed, enjoyed sitting on balcony enjoying the views.

This was a super cottage in an ideal location, we probably paid slightly more because we booked later than normal and for only 5 nights.
Having said that, we were very happy with the house and have booked it for 7 nights next year.
There was plenty room for the 5 of us (all adults) and we particularly enjoyed the balcony on the top floor and it’s views.
It was spotlessly clean and we appreciated the welcome kit.

(Improvement)Suggestions:
- A mirror in the upstairs toilet, and a socket for an electric razor in the bathroom.
- If travelling with 2 cars use the parking space at the back of the house for the smaller car….turning space is tight.

The cottage is an excellent base being so close to the shops & also in walking distance to some great walks.
The cottage was adequately equipped. The highlight being the outside seating area off the master bedroom. It was nice eating outside in privacy whilst enjoying great views of the surrounding mountains.
Parking was a bonus for central Keswick, but beware it is really tight & only a small or medium size car will fit. To compensate a parking permit was a good gesture.
In summary we would recommend provided it doesn't go up too much in cost

Great location close to the high st, great parking facilities we just had the one car which there is parking for and they provide additional parking in a long stay carpark a minutes walk away .

Properly meet our needs , only downsides was it was quite dusty felt like no one had stayed in a while, and the sofa wasn’t the comfiest , no cushions on them either . Either than that was a nice place

The house was clean and warm and plenty big enough for 4 adults, although the kitchen is quite small, with only a small freezer in the fridge. The staircases were a little steep especially the one to the third floor. It has a roof terrace which was pleasant to sit out on. There is parking at the rear but it is a tight turn and best suited to small cars only, especially when the other parking spaces there are being used. The parking permit for the nearby long stay car park was very useful. We had to buy more toilet rolls, as there were no extra ones supplied and more washing up liquid. For some reason there was no teapot! The bed in the small bedroom was quite creaky, but generally ok. The house is well situated for the town centre and Fitz Park, very useful if you have a dog. We had a pleasant stay at the house.
