Warm, clean, well equipped, lovely Christmas decorations, great location, sufficient parking, secure bike store (once the key was delivered), plenty of room for people and their gear - and bonus points for supplying a tea pot (x2). Pretty perfect really - very well done. So impressed we have booked to come back. Ps just needs an ash shovel and a decent dish cloth
I stayed with my two sisters for 4 nights in September. The house was clean, comfortable and very spacious. All 3 double bedrooms were large. Having two bathrooms (plus an additional toilet!) was great. The furnishings and decor were lovely, giving the house a cosy, welcoming feel. It was much better equipped than many holiday lets, in terms of crockery, kitchen equipment, books, sound system etc. The glimpses from upper windows of Skiddaw and other hills was nice. The backyard is quite functional, but was pleasant for sitting out in the sun in the evening. It's just a 5 minute walk to the tow...more
Fern Cottage was the perfect NY holiday. Certainly one of the best holiday cottages we've ever stayed in. The Customer Service was exceptional - we've never received such an amazing welcome pack. Lovely house, super comfy beds. We particularly loved sitting in the conservatory enjoying the mountain views. Will definitely use Keswick Cottages again - very impressed.
I really don’t want to write a review because then everyone else will know about this place , Fantastic , immaculate , really well equipped house , I was a bit worried not having a garden with 3 dogs but the park being 30 seconds walk away made up for that. Parking was free and a minutes walk away as was the town centre. We had a minor issue with the dishwasher , I let Keswick cottages know , more for the next guest and they had someone there within the hour to fix it . Can’t recommend the Eyrie or Keswick cottages enough , We will be back
We really enjoyed our stay in Keswick recently at Blue Sky Cottage. Very comfortable and cosy. Location of the property was ideal. Being on a side street it was not too busy or noisy. Bonus having a parking space too. Very well equipped, a real home from home.
Beautiful Bungalow in an excellent location. Immaculately clean, lovely and comfortable furnishings. Very well equipped kitchen and lovely dinning area. Very well located to Keswick centre and located close to some good walks. Hope yo return next year.
Absolutely stunning location with fabulous views over Derwentwater and Borrowdale. Well furnished and well equipped, just a home from home couldn't be more comfortable. Only 15 mins walk into Keswick either along the roadside walk or by the lake. Take some wild bird seed for the feeders and enjoy the visits of various tits, finches, robins and pheasants. A big thank you also to Keswick Cottages for the bottles of wine, chocolates and biscuits awaiting for us on arrival.
The house is beautiful & everyone walked away wanting all of the features in the kitchen! 8 of us stayed, beds were really comfortable, heating was comfortable, hot tub & scenery amazing. Little pub nearby for Sunday lunch was lovely. Small niggles - the table doesn’t comfortably fit 8 people on (which is such a shame as meals with those views were amazing!) and everyone can’t really watch the TV together in the living room as the tv is behind one of the sofas & comfortably only fits 6-7 people (so we didn’t spend much time in the living room). Could do with a little bit of maintenance...more
Super apartment in a central location. Amazing views. Fully equipped and very clean, comfortable beds also. Would definitely book again and completely recommend (unless you have a problem with stairs as on the top floor).
A lovely bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac, with good views out to Skiddaw, Latrigg and Blencathra. A pleasant 10 minute walk from the town centre.
This was our second stay at Maiden Moor. On first impressions we were excited to see the Christmas Tree (we stayed Christmas week) and the flat was lovely and warm on arrival. We were disappointed with some aspects. First we found out only by reading a previous review that the hob igniter did not work. This was an old review but when we checked it had not been rectified. Had I not seen this review we would have been unable to cook a meal as there were no matches in the property. The extractor was not working in the non en-suite bathroom, and it was freezing cold so we were glad we didn...more
Second time staying at this Modern comfortable cottage and it was 1st class again . Warm spacious downstairs area with a fantastic utility room , bedrooms are cosy and the beds are excellent. 2 good sized bathrooms, perfect location in the centre of the town , what more could you ask for . Parking is a little tight if you have a big car so we brought the small car this time . You can get a large car in the space but it is tight but really not an issue . Already booked for next year . Great place . Chris Ryan
Could not fault anything. Location, interior, facilities all outstanding. I can’t wait to stay there again. Keswick cottages excellent customer service.
A great cottage in a lovely location for exploring Keswick and The Lakes. Really comfortable and well equipped.
Very spacious and comfortable apartment. Great to have reserved parking for two cars. Well furnished and décor in good condition. Nice kitchen/dining area and lounge. Handy cupboard for coats and shoes plus a separate utility room. Great location in the centre of Keswick surrounded by pubs, bars, restaurants, shops and close to the cinema, Hope Park and the lake. We slept very well on the firm mattress of the master bedroom. The other couple in one of the front bedrooms were a little disturbed by the music from the bar opposite, which is a lovely little bar by the way. I definitely recommend t...more
Lovely property , great location , , stunning views from every window, well presented and equipped, perfect for our stay family of 5 adults thank you
A return visit for our small family of seven. An excellent house with very good amenities, very cosy and comfortable, who needs good weather! Central Keswick is very close by as are the two local supermarkets.
Flat is ideally situated for the town centre, bus station & walks from the door. Well equipped although couldn't open windows in twin bedroom which made it very stuffy overnight.
We had a four night stay at Grisedale pike. We found the accommodation to be warm, comfortable, spacious and welcoming with a Christmas tree and lights in the living room. The location is good, close to shops and lovely place to eat. The welcome box for us and a separate welcome box for our dog was appreciated. I would definitely book Grisedale pike again in the future.
We had an amazing time at Ellergill - genuinely cannot fault anything - house is very spacious and plenty cutlery / crockery and all the amenities needed If anyone is visiting the area and have a group of around 10 then they will not regret booking Ellergill. We booked the nearby Lizzick Hall for a lovely birthday meal which we would recommend also. Perfectly located to allow plenty of lovely days and evenings spent in the gorgeous Keswick centre. For nice meals we would recommend the pies in the always busy Dog and Gun, The Inn on the square for a classy cocktail, The back bar is alway...more
Farmers Retreat was one of the nicest holiday cottages we have been in for a very long time. We visit Keswick frequently. It was clean, comfortable with beautiful decor and comfortable furniture and beds. We loved its location on the edge of Fitz Park so the easy walk into town was made more special by walking through a pristine park. The children enjoyed their evening swims in the river Greta. It was idyllic. The cottage could do with a bit more storage space in the bedrooms and towel rails in the bathroom. We particularly appreciated the cloakroom downstairs. Being a 3 generation family wi...more
The cottage was very well equipped and one well behaved dog manageable. Too small for 4adults but for 4 nights it was ok. Beds were lovely and comfortable.
Lovely stay as always . Excellent views ,central position ,kitchen well equipped with all you need for yoir stay . Lovely roll top bath for long soaks after hilltop walks . Huge comfy bed in main ensuite bedroom . This is our 6th or 7th stay . We will be back . Thankyou Keswick cottages .
Great stay for a family of 8, the only gripe was the main sofa was difficult for the older members of our party to get in and out of. All the other facilities were top class.
We were a family of 6 adults (3 couples) with dogs spending Xmas day in the Lakes. Firstly the drive was huge so no problem with parking and the check in instructions were clear and simple. Three bedrooms was a godsend for us! The house has everything we could have needed for our stay, including a really well stocked kitchen for us to prepare Xmas dinner Also the pub around the corner was nice after a long walk. Took us around half hour to walk in to Keswick. The biscuits and prosecco were a lovely touch but the dog gift boxed were the very best!! We loved our stay, thank you
Brilliant cottage, location was excellent on the edge of the whinlatter forest .The cottage had plenty of room, it was very clean , warm & comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped.really nice modern bathrooms It was made extra special with the Christmas tree & extras left by the staff. Thank you we had a wonderful stay & will definitely book again. Really helpful team.
Wow, what a stunning property! Magnificent views of the fells in a very peaceful location. The neighbours were extremely friendly :) (field of sheep from all windows) Once we had worked out how to walk back from Keswick to the cottage, (wasn't intuiative at first with the busy bypass) we realised that we could leave the car at home. Small improvements, but these really are small ... Towel hook/holder in the bathroom (not en-suite) nowhere to hang wet towels Wi-Fi could be improved, but with the beautiful views, who needs it!
The apartment is very well located, just a short minute's walk from shops and amenities, with the added bonus of 2 allocated car parking spaces. The apartment is very spacious, very well appointed and beautifully clean. Our only issue was with the traffic noise from the main road right outside the 2 front bedrooms which meant sleep was at a premium, and there was very little soundproofing from the apartment above. Shame because it really is a great apartment.
Beautiful accommodation well kept, spotless with everything catered for. Magnificent view over Derwentwater. Could not be bettered. Keswick Cottages a fantastic business to deal with too.
What a beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean. So very well furnished, large kitchen stocked so that you didn't run out of crockery before you wanted to put dishwasher on. So many places have just enough plates, cups cutlery for one sitting! A wonderfully comfortable cottage just 5 minutes walk from town centre. Garden was perfect for our two dogs and great to clean them up in the utility room after a wet walk. A credit to the owners. Great to have all info about cottage online. Thank you. We will be back.
What another amazing stay . Upon entering the property it was clear to see this was a beautiful townhouse. Heating was on toastie and warm after a long .drive , we then went through to the kitchen to see a beautiful bottle of prosseco with two glasses and a lovely welcome tub for our beautiful riva . We went upstairs to find a beautiful sitting room with a beautiful log burner a lovely christmas tree and stunning views . The bedrooms were beautiful and spotless . This is our second with keswick cottages and they are absolutely amazing. We have decided that this particular is now our cone to...more
Great location in Keswick town centre. Very practical no frills house with everything you need and very useful garage. Clean and tidy always.
Great apartment, very well equipped and in a good location. We have been staying at Bridgehouse Apartments for several years and have never been disappointed.
Absolutely super, immaculately maintained apartment. We had been once before and had no hesitation about going again. We went in early November both times, and found it warm, comfortable - especially the large bed! - and very well equipped. It is ideally situated, being very convenient for the town centre and only a few minutes walk to both the excellent Booth's supermarket and the bus station. While we were there the central heating boiler failed one day, which we reported right away, and in just over half an hour an engineer arrived to attend to it. Brilliant service from a friendly, he...more
Ideally located just yards away from the footbridge over the Greta into Fitz Park. A beautifully decorated cottage, very comfortable and a great place to stay. Beds very comfortable, and having the sound of the river flowing by is just lovely.
The cottage is beautiful and really well appointed. It had everything we needed for our short stay. The garden is beautiful and we’d like stay again in the spring or summer months to appreciate it more! It’s only a short walk into Keswick and bus stops are right near by. We’d definitely stay here again.
Very comfortable and well appointed bungalow with fantastic views. Lovely terrace if the weather's nice enough to sit out. And the hot tub is great, whatever the weather! We love Braithwaite so the property was ideally located for access to the local pubs and village shop.
Jasmine Cottage really is a lovely little cozy cottage in Portinscale near Keswick. This is the second time we have stayed here for Christmas. The cottage was beautifully presented with Christmas decorations and little welcoming treats. The kitchen is well kitted out. The large bedroom has a very comfortable bed with views to the hills in the distance. The living room is comfortable with a log burner perfect for winter evenings.
Our 4th visit to Causey view-says it all. We love the location in Braithwaite and it is quiet and convenient to Keswick for all amenities.
Our first stay at Greta Howe, absolutely fabulous. So spacious & well equipped. A bonus having parking in Keswick,. Will definitely be returning, allready looked to book for Christmas next year but too late someone's beaten us to it.
A lovely cottage, newly renovated, with everything needed for us as a couple and our collie dog (I could see it being a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults though). It’s perfectly located for great walks from the doorstep and for eating out without driving anywhere. My only very minor niggle was the low level lighting and front hall security lights coming on every time you moved in the living room. It was unfortunate we picked a very wet December week, and after many soakings, decided to come home a day early as there are only so many times you can dry off a wet dog. Would not hesitate to come back ...more
Lovely bedrooms and lounge Surface clean only. Great location.Disgusting toilet brushes. Fridge far too small for 8 people. Kitchen needs attention. Heating either freezing or boiling coming on at odd times one day it was -4 and didn’t come on until 9am so house was very cold. Expected higher standard for the price. Other issues too. Would not recommend or stay again unless changes made. Feedback sent to company 2 days ago with no response as yet.
The lords seat was a lovely place to stay, very comfortable and clean. Great location with amazing views. Nice to have the extras like the dvds and games. The only disappointing thing was the water going off (ironic in the lake district) but obviously not your fault. The only thing that would have helped is instructions on a couple of things. We struggled with the hob as it clicks off every time we put the pan on and hadnt used that sort of hob before so took a while to figure it out. It was a lovely place to stay. Thank you for letting us stay there.
Excellent cottage very comfortable every thing you need is there car parking space is a bit tight I would definitely recommend staying
Lovely and very comfortable stay. Kitchen had everything we needed. Bed was extremely comfortable. Lovely touch with a decorated Christmas Tree and gifts. Liked the fact that any food left over could be left in the property for the food bank. We will definitely be back. Thank you!
A very warm and comfortable cottage in a great Location. It had everything we needed, except for toiletries, bring your own soap shower gel and shampoo.
My husband and I, together with our dogs stayed in Skiddaw View between Christmas and New Years. The apartment is located right in the middle of the town, with Fitz's Park right on the doorstep for our active dogs. The parking is directly behind the apartment and very secure. The apartment was warm, extremely well equipped and we enjoyed more evenings in than out- due to the comfort on offer. The Keswick Cottages team were so helpful before the trip, answering all and any questions we had. There is nothing we could fault about our stay in Skiddaw View- we loved every minute and we will...more
Easy to book a last minute getaway over the phone. Shortly after payment we received an email confirming the booking and providing full details of the property, key safe number, location etc. The property is very spacious, well-equipped, comfortable and quiet. Parking space in Keswick a great bonus, and location is very central, just a couple of minutes walk away from the centre of town. We would certainly stay here again next time we visit the lake District, and would recommend the property to family and friends. Thank you.
2nd visit to this gorgeous cottage. Beautiful as ever. Everything you could need like home from home. Trimmed up ready for Christmas which we loved. Spotlessly clean. Having the fire made it very cosy. So close to centre with so many beautiful shops/pubs and attractions. Loved the Christmas/victorian market. Such a lovely community. Will book again soon. Thank you
Beautiful apartment, lovely furnishings and great central location. Our only complaint was we couldn’t get the oven to work, it definitely needs replacing as seems a bit old.
We've visited Keswick many times always staying in B&B's but this was our first time in a cottage. The B&B's have always served us well but this was definitely a better experience. The moment we walked in the cottage was warm, homely and well equipped. The Christmas tree and decorations we're an unexpected bonus along with the complimentary welcome gifts, even a Christmas card. The kitchen and lounge area were the biggest plus for us over a B&B and it was very nice having a proper bathroom. The bed was very comfortable with very minimal noise from outside. The dedicated parking space and W...more
Another absolutely wonderful week spent at Tithe Cottage over the New Year period. We have stayed here so many times now that we’ve genuinely lost count, and it continues to impress us on every single visit. From the moment you arrive, the cottage feels warm, cozy, and incredibly welcoming — a true home away from home. Tithe Cottage is exceptionally well equipped with everything you could possibly need, whether you’re staying for a short break or a longer, more leisurely visit. The bed is supremely comfortable, guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep, and the added bonus of the spa pass is a fan...more
We have been staying in Keswick Cottages for more years than I care to remember and are never disappointed. Bridge House apt 3 is excellent, great location, well presented and very comfortable. We visited at Christmas and the tree and Christmas goodies were appreciated by us and the dog. Hopefully we’ll be returning later in the year
The house is in a great location, out the way of the hustle and bustle but only about an 8 minute walk into the center of Keswick. The Lakes through everything at us weather wise but the house was a warm and inviting place to come back too. It is very well equipped with everything you need and generally got parked right outside. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend.
The Cottage was ideally located for lots of adventures and had a very homely feel. The Cottage has the benefit of off road parking and because there are really good amenities in Braithwaite together with the fabulous walks from the door ranging from a Wainwright to a gentle stroll around the village we didn't use the car. We particularly enjoyed the walk up Barrow and Outerside with our dog Toby. I'm sure we will be staying again.
Loved this cottage’s position in central Keswick parking for car very comfortable furnishings stayed here before kitchen good size beds very comfortable short walk to pubs and restaurants very clean will stay here again
Perfect location and far bigger than it looks! Would highly recommend for a family stay. Will be returning.
The Ridgeway is a great base for exploring Keswick and the Northern Lake District. The property is very comfortable, well equipped (particularly the kitchen) and the lounge/diner gives lovely views over the town and the local fells, with a nice real fire to keep off the chill on a winter's evening - the rest of the house stayed comfortably warm with the preset Central Heating. Beds very comfortable, plenty of warm water and nice showers (even the smaller downstairs one, although this room was a little cramped and needed the handy fan heater). It was immaculately clean with lots of thoughtful t...more
From the minute I booked with Keswick Cottage’s I knew I’d found the right company. They were extremely helpful in picking the right cottage for me. They gave me reminders all along the way and the app that they send you covers everything that you need. Perfect in every aspect.
Lovely cottage and location . We ended up staying an extra night as no one was booked in . Only minor fault was stuff in the welcome pack and cupboards was out well of date so we never got to use the coffee machine . Certainly didn’t spoil our holiday .
Absolutely fantastic property, so comfortable and spacious with allocated parking. Has everything you want, I think the fact we extended our stay by 2 days says it all. Keswick Cottages provided excellent customer service as always.
Lovely property in an ideal location. Perfect for a family of four or less. Nice and quiet with good access to shops.
We loved Isabel cottage. We visit Keswick several times a year so normally look out for a more economical stay but it was worth spending a bit more for the luxury. The team at Keswick Cottages were very helpful and super efficient with sending the info re booking.
wonderful location with cozy pubs and restaurants on the doorstep. Hikes walks and bike trails a stones throw away. The cottage was beautiful and provided everything you could need to have a night in after a day of adventure.
Small apartment in a great location. Unfortunately our stay was spoilt by black mould on the bedroom wall with a really strong smell of damp. Pity as it could be so much better with some TLC.
This was our 5th time st Pine Croft. We love the place as it's in a perfect location, very nice accommodation, specious cosy and with plenty of comforts. The only cosntractive feedback is the garden could do with some genes at the drive to secure the dogs from running in out. The bedroom wasn't hoovered properly and it could do with a bigger duvet. Other than that we love the place.
Byways is a really lovely, cosy, well-equipped cottage in an excellent location just a few minutes' walk from Keswick Town centre. It's also close - and this is especially great if you take a dog with you - to a really nice park by the river. We unfortunately had to cut our stay short because of illness (mine), but we're very happy indeed in this excellent cottage. It was dressed nicely for Christmas (we were there the week before) and the gas 'woodburner' had us feeling extremely cosy indeed.
Second time at the property and every bit as good as the first. Excellent area for taking off boots and walking gear, the property is comfortable, well equipped and furnished to a high standard. A central location accessed from the rear with free parking (note this is a 2 minute walk but we were able to unload/load on our arrival/departure outside). Beds were great, slept so well! Having a bathroom per 2 bedrooms on same floor as them is a plus. The only negatives are the flights of stairs, which could be an issue for some, and a general smell of food from the cafe below which permeated to ...more
The property is in an excellent location. Communication with Keswick cottages prior to our arrival and the information provided is also excellent. We were a party of ten and the accommodation was spacious enough for us all. The bedrooms are all a really good size and generally everyone agreed the beds and pillows were all comfortable. The bed on the 3rd floor was in need of some attention as it was a metal bed that was squeaky and had a lot of movement in the frame. The kitchen is well equipped - I was able to cook a Christmas dinner for 10! The only negatives are when using the bathroom on ...more
Fellseekers cottage is in a great location. car parking is a bit tight but manageable. We really enjoyed our stay. Thankyou.
The location was ideal and it was of reasonable value for the 5 of us. I love sitting out on the balcony in an evening. This is the 4th year we have stayed in the cottage because we have always been satisfied up until now. Sadly the house is in need of some TLC. The tiles in the bathroom were held on with duct tape, not ideal, and I would say that it needs a deep clean. Skirting boards were covered in dust, the small chest of drawers in the single room had juice spilled down the front and was sticky and the inside of the front living room window was covered in fingerprints. The drawers’ inter...more
We had a wonderful stay in Shelley Cottage, great location, comfortable and incredible views! Very comfortable and relaxing, just off the main road but still felt peaceful! we enjoyed the garden as well!
We have been coming to Birchgate since 2015. Love the cottage and the location. Already booked for next year. Can't wait
I was going to title this review no words! However I do have plenty!!! Im just not sure they'll be enough. What a beautiful weekend we had. Not only was the cottage absolutely stunning both inside and out byt the support we had from the keswick cottage team were second to none. The cottage itself was better then we pictured from both the images we saw and descriptions provided. It qas so spacious and beautiful. It was so clean on arrival and the added extra of a Christmas tree just made it extra special. All the details provided on how to look after the cottage, attractions...more
We are an active 70+ couple who have visited the Lakes for 30+ years. On arrival the keysafe proved too difficult to open and after 30 mins of fruitless attempts a call to the office for assistance in gaining access was necessary. The issue was resolved quickly in a most friendly manner. Once inside a couple of minor maintenance issues were identified (these things happen) but again, these were soon resolved. Sams Cottage is well equipped for a comfortable self-catering break for up to 3 people, disabled or otherwise. Access to Bakers Yard is down a short but very narrow lane with high w...more
The house is kept beautifully clean. Views from it are mind blowingly fabulous. Needs more hanging space in the bathroom and unfortunately there was a smashed window covered in cardboard in the front hall that I was not informed about. Other than that, just a beautiful home from home and an incredible team at Keswick Cottages!! If you’re thinking about booking with them…just book…right now!!
Enjoyed our stay, (4 adults) plenty of space and very handy for the town. Downstairs bedroom is handy for those who can't manage the stairs but the bed is very creaky.
Overall we had a good week at Cragside Cottage, right beside a crag with sheep grazing. Lovely open-plan living area and large Smart TV which the grandchildren loved. Modern kitchen, but could have done with slightly smaller dinner plates which actually fitted in the dishwasher and pans which weren’t so heavy. We had been assured the patio area would be fenced off by the time we went, but there was nowhere to sit out at all. But it was in a good setting, very easy to park and handy for a number of beauty spots.
Last minute booking - staff at Keswick Cottages were really helpful and the owners brilliantly responsive. Very quiet residential location, great views from the back and only a bit less than a 10 mins walk into Keswick. Comfortable bed in the main bedroom. Easy to control the temperature in the property (not always the case on rentals). Well equipped kitchen. TVs in both the lounge and main bedroom were very good. The sofa in the lounge wasn’t the most practical or comfortable compared to other places where we’ve stayed. Hot tub was a real bonus. Would we stay again… yes!
Brandlehow is the perfect place to relax and refuel. The location is superb, nestled in the woodlands and on the shores of Derwentwater. Most days began with a coffee overlooking the lake, watching the sunrise and the cloud disperse. Beautiful walks from the doorstep and of course a lot of kayaking right from the door. The water levels were incredibly high when we arrived so couldn't make the best use of the launches as we have in the past but enjoyed a trip later in the week. The footpath that runs adjacent to the garden is really only busy around lunchtime as it is midway round the lake...more
Two separate electrical faults. One caused a flame to shoot out the wall melting the wires in the kitchen socket, the other melted the wires in the immersion heater meaning no hot water for several days. A door fell off in the kitchen, and the upstairs landing storage heater wires had been cut and disconnected so it was freezing upstairs at night. I was told by the electrician that came out several times that the owner of the property liked to ‘tinker’ with the electrics hence the botched up and dangerous wiring. I was also told the owner was very tight and wouldn’t spent money on the plac...more
