Excellent location, enjoyed many walks from the door
Beautifully refurbished, good layout, particularly liked the open plan kitchen/living space which worked well for us
Excellent utility room with great facilities for drying wet kit
Only a few minutes drive from Keswick if you need a supermarket shop, but essentials available in village shop

We love that you thought the refurbishment was beautiful and that you particularly enjoyed the open plan kitchen/living room. The utility room is essential after a rainy day. It is only a couple of minutes to drive into Keswick or you can take a 15 minute walk. The village shop in Braithwaite is a great feature of the village and now even has a small café. We've stayed at Causey View for a holiday for the past three years. Being in Braithwaite, the bungalow is situated in the perfect place. We have enjoyed luxury holidays here and would love to come again.

Having said that, the double bed has a hard mattress that my wife cannot get used to. She cannot sleep on it very well at all. For this reason we won't be booking next year, although everything else about the bungalow is absolutely fantastic.

After many years with Keswick Cottages in Keswick and surrounding villages Causey View was outstanding. But our meal in the Royal Oak was no match for our regular …. The Pheasant on Crosthwaite road! We will be back ! Thankyou.

Causey View in the most comfortable and clean accommodation we have stayed on a self catering holiday. We found everything we would need to use there. We didn't really cook as there are two pubs very close in the village which serve delicious meals also another restaurant which we didn't try.
We parked our car on the drive and got a local bus when we didn't want to walk to Keswick, we walked in the area and up on the fells although we had very hot weather so we didn't go to high as usual.
The rear garden was lovely to sit in after a long walk and the sound of the Coledale Beck was relaxing.
This was our 2nd time here and we love it so much we have booked to return next year, I really didn't want to leave.

Causey View was was very clean, comfortable and attractively decorated. It had all the facilities for a great holiday. The location meant we could leave the car on the drive and go on extensive and beautiful walks, as well as using the reliable local bus service. The village shop is friendly and has local produce.

As a frequent visitor to Braithwaite this has to be one of the best properties we've stayed in. Very comfy & warm with all amenites & excellent parking.

This bungalow is a great choice, it seems to be recently decorated so is smart and clean with a modern bathroom and kitchen, and large yet cosy living area and good size bedrooms.
It has all the appliances you’d need, good heating and hot water, separate utility room/boot room and is within a couple of minutes walk to the village shop. Off road parking is a bonus.
Communication with the owner to extend our stay was easy and well managed.
I think it would be good value for money at other times of the year, but a little expensive over Christmas - e.g. we paid twice the price of a week next March currently available on the web site.

Clean house with comfortable furniture. Spacious bathroom and lovely modern kitchen.
Great views. Efficient central heating system. Very good tourist information provided in a folder showing lots of different walking routes.

Lovely clean comfortable and plenty of room in this bungalow. Bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay, just a shame that the only pub in that small village we were told did food, they had closed their kitchen for food. Which meant we had to use the car to travel in to town for a meal each evening. Although we did use the hotel which was just few minute walk from our bungalow for a meal and their Sunday roast was excellent. But of course it was more expensive. Lovely countryside in Lake District but far too busy even in Autumn. Also car parks are a rip off.

Spent many years visiting the Lakes but the first time staying in Braithwaite
Bungalow was very modern and very spacious and comfortable.
Stayed during the heatwave and the bungalow was very cool to come back to after being out early.
We will be back.

This property is very spacious and comfortable in a modern style. The views are beautiful and we walked every day from the bungalow. We have already rebooked for next year and so looking forward to it.

This was our 2nd stay and it was gorgeous, loved the utility/drying room, which was really handy as the lakes lived up to their reputation. Lovely walks straight from the door and fabulous meals at the Coledale Inn. It’s a very well laid out bungalow with a peaceful garden next to the beck. We’re back again in June, that’s how much we like it.

Perfectly placed in the village of Braithwaite with 2 great pubs and village shop a few minutes walk away and only a 5 minute drive into Keswick. Great base for walking . Causey View has all the home comforts you need. Particularly impressed with the shower and well equipped kitchen. Really handy utility/boot room with washing machine and tumble drier. The owners have taken a lot of care in providing a really comfortable holiday home

My husband and I have just returned from our second visit to Causey View and once again had a wonderful week. The weather was changeable but we walked every day as thankfully we have the appropriate gear - so the wind and rain just means a lower level walk.
Causey View accommodation is bright, clean, uncluttered but well equipped, beautifully decorated with quirky soft furnishings and has the best utility facilities, making it a really lovely, comfortable base. Excellent parking on the driveway is a bonus and also an outside tap for cleaning muddy boots!
The location of Causey View in Braithwaite is perfect for exploring the surrounding fells and Derwent Water, without the need to take the car - that was a real plus for us. There are walks for all; challenging high/medium fells and gentler valley/river options.
Braithwaite is a very pretty village with an excellent local shop, very handy for the morning papers, cards, gifts and everyday essentials. We have eaten in the Coledale Inn and the Royal Oak, both provide a quality eating and drinking experience.
Keswick is wonderful for shopping and it is always a pleasure to visit the specialist individual shops, galleries and Booths.
We are already looking to see when we can book again later in the year!
