Causey View is in a great location with lovely walks available from your doorstep. There’s a good selection of cafes and pubs nearby. The bungalow is extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed. We had questions during our stay and Rebecca at Keswick Cottages was a star. We very much hope to return.

We enjoyed a lovely week in this comfortable bungalow in beautiful Braithwaite. The cottage has a great layout with open plan living room, diner and kitchen. The 2 bedrooms are spacious and peaceful. There is a large bathroom / shower room and a great utility / boot room. There is a nice front garden and a small, private back garden.

The cottage is well equipped with plenty crockery, equipment and modern appliances. The furniture is comfortable with nice curtains, cushions and pictures in keeping with the area.

We had just a couple of suggestions to make the property even better: provide kitchen roll on arrival, no spatula for frying eggs, some coffee pods for the coffee machine, a washing basket for laundry. All pretty minor stuff in the grand scheme of things,

This is our 3rd time back to Causey View. A lovely bungalow, in a superb position, located within Braithwaite. It's in a very quiet location but only a 2 min walk to the village shop/café, couple of pubs and the start of many great walks.

Causey View is well equipped, and the arrival of a coffee machine (original pods) and double air fryer is a great addition to the kitchen, which is well equipped and has a super big fridge/freezer as well. It’s a super warm, cosy bungalow, which has the best drying (utility) room ever for wet boots and coats. Good instructions for hot water and heating system, the oven was a bit more tricky to find instructions for. The bathroom has a superb shower and the bedrooms have everything you need – it would be good if the twin room was a zip link so it could be made into a double bed.

The only negative is the outdoor furniture, which could really do with replacing or a good clean up. The bench out front is in a lovely sunny position but you can only use half of it, due to the state of it. Inspite of this, Causey remains our favorite and we’re already booked for Xmas ❤

Causey View is in many ways the perfect holiday cottage. Ideal location. Spacious and well furnished to a good standard with an excellent choice of crockery.

We had a lovely week at Causey View. The cottage was a good size and had all the amenities we required over our break. We didn’t use the washing machine, but it was a great bonus to know it was there if we needed it. The beds were very comfortable and we had no issues at all with the accommodation.
The surroundings are beautiful and there are some really lovely local walks which were detailed in the information booklet at the property; it was very helpful to have this information provided! The village is very peaceful and there’s a lovely little village shop only a few minutes walk away. The only thing we struggled with was the lack of places within walking distance that we could eat at with two children. The one night we went to the Royal Oak, unfortunately their kitchen was closed and we then had to get in the car and drive to Keswick to find somewhere. This wasn’t a huge problem, but after a tiring day it would have been good to have a few options of places to eat without the need to drive out. This was just a personal preference though and nothing to do with the lovely cottage. We would definitely stay here again when we visit the lakes.

Enjoyed our visit to Causey View, great location handy for walks starting from the door and local buses to Keswick there is also a local store a few yards away and three bars in the village.
Excellent accommodation, clean and comfortable throughout.

Excellent location for local walks and basic amenities, great to walk to the bus stop for regular service to Keswick. The weather was cold so we found accommodation quite cold. Very clean and comfortable. Outdoor furniture could do with a refurbishment.

This was our 3rd stay at Causey View in the gorgeous village of Braithwaite.
The location is wonderful with views of the fells and close to pubs serving food and bus stops nearby to visit surrounding areas. A fabulous area for walking access for Higher climbs and also gentle scenic walks.
The property was immaculate and clean with everything you could need. The utility / drying room was much appreciated.

We've stayed at Causey View for a holiday for the past three years. Being in Braithwaite, the bungalow is situated in the perfect place. We have enjoyed luxury holidays here and would love to come again.

Having said that, the double bed has a hard mattress that my wife cannot get used to. She cannot sleep on it very well at all. For this reason we won't be booking next year, although everything else about the bungalow is absolutely fantastic.

Causey View in the most comfortable and clean accommodation we have stayed on a self catering holiday. We found everything we would need to use there. We didn't really cook as there are two pubs very close in the village which serve delicious meals also another restaurant which we didn't try.
We parked our car on the drive and got a local bus when we didn't want to walk to Keswick, we walked in the area and up on the fells although we had very hot weather so we didn't go to high as usual.
The rear garden was lovely to sit in after a long walk and the sound of the Coledale Beck was relaxing.
This was our 2nd time here and we love it so much we have booked to return next year, I really didn't want to leave.

Causey View was was very clean, comfortable and attractively decorated. It had all the facilities for a great holiday. The location meant we could leave the car on the drive and go on extensive and beautiful walks, as well as using the reliable local bus service. The village shop is friendly and has local produce.

As a frequent visitor to Braithwaite this has to be one of the best properties we've stayed in. Very comfy & warm with all amenites & excellent parking.

This bungalow is a great choice, it seems to be recently decorated so is smart and clean with a modern bathroom and kitchen, and large yet cosy living area and good size bedrooms.
It has all the appliances you’d need, good heating and hot water, separate utility room/boot room and is within a couple of minutes walk to the village shop. Off road parking is a bonus.
Communication with the owner to extend our stay was easy and well managed.
I think it would be good value for money at other times of the year, but a little expensive over Christmas - e.g. we paid twice the price of a week next March currently available on the web site.

Clean house with comfortable furniture. Spacious bathroom and lovely modern kitchen.
Great views. Efficient central heating system. Very good tourist information provided in a folder showing lots of different walking routes.

Lovely clean comfortable and plenty of room in this bungalow. Bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay, just a shame that the only pub in that small village we were told did food, they had closed their kitchen for food. Which meant we had to use the car to travel in to town for a meal each evening. Although we did use the hotel which was just few minute walk from our bungalow for a meal and their Sunday roast was excellent. But of course it was more expensive. Lovely countryside in Lake District but far too busy even in Autumn. Also car parks are a rip off.

Spent many years visiting the Lakes but the first time staying in Braithwaite
Bungalow was very modern and very spacious and comfortable.
Stayed during the heatwave and the bungalow was very cool to come back to after being out early.

This property is very spacious and comfortable in a modern style. The views are beautiful and we walked every day from the bungalow. We have already rebooked for next year and so looking forward to it.

This was our 2nd stay and it was gorgeous, loved the utility/drying room, which was really handy as the lakes lived up to their reputation. Lovely walks straight from the door and fabulous meals at the Coledale Inn. It’s a very well laid out bungalow with a peaceful garden next to the beck. We’re back again in June, that’s how much we like it.

Perfectly placed in the village of Braithwaite with 2 great pubs and village shop a few minutes walk away and only a 5 minute drive into Keswick. Great base for walking . Causey View has all the home comforts you need. Particularly impressed with the shower and well equipped kitchen. Really handy utility/boot room with washing machine and tumble drier. The owners have taken a lot of care in providing a really comfortable holiday home

My husband and I have just returned from our second visit to Causey View and once again had a wonderful week. The weather was changeable but we walked every day as thankfully we have the appropriate gear - so the wind and rain just means a lower level walk.
Causey View accommodation is bright, clean, uncluttered but well equipped, beautifully decorated with quirky soft furnishings and has the best utility facilities, making it a really lovely, comfortable base. Excellent parking on the driveway is a bonus and also an outside tap for cleaning muddy boots!
The location of Causey View in Braithwaite is perfect for exploring the surrounding fells and Derwent Water, without the need to take the car - that was a real plus for us. There are walks for all; challenging high/medium fells and gentler valley/river options.
Braithwaite is a very pretty village with an excellent local shop, very handy for the morning papers, cards, gifts and everyday essentials. We have eaten in the Coledale Inn and the Royal Oak, both provide a quality eating and drinking experience.
Keswick is wonderful for shopping and it is always a pleasure to visit the specialist individual shops, galleries and Booths.
We are already looking to see when we can book again later in the year!
