This spacious and modern property is perfectly situated for the town centre and can accommodate up to 6 people.
Excellent location, very clean and tidy. Just needs a few touches to make it outstanding

We stayed in peak season and had an extraordinary week of weather. Who's ever heard of a week in the lake district without rain!
Finding the property was a bit of a challenge. The narrow streets in that quarter of Keswick are a bit of a challenge to navigate if you've never been there before, but as long as you don't mind going round in a couple of circles it is fine. Parking overall is definitely an issue in peak season. There are a huge amount of guest houses, guest cottages and B&B's in that area, and as such finding a parking space near the house was tricky. I imagine, with it only being a 5 minute walk to the town centre, locals and wise visitors avoid the car park costs in the town centre. Getting the space on the road immediately outside the house was a rarity. However, there was never a point where we couldn't find one, and usually within 50m.
The location is ideal for Keswick. A 5 minute fast walk to the main town centre, a 10 minute leisurely stroll. Fitz Park with reasonably priced tennis courts and other park games (boules, pitch and putt) was less than 5 minutes away, and the cafe there is good. About a 10 minute walk to Derwentwater via a footpath.
The cottage itself was very clean on our arrival. All amenities and cutlery present and correct with the exception of a vegetable peeler. There was a small utility pack from the company with a handful of dishwasher tablets, dishcloths etc.
Bedrooms were good, although the main double room had a remarkably short bed. My feet were well off the end at 6'1". It was comfortable though, with good pillows. Had no complaints from the children about their rooms. Bathroom was tidy and good albeit with a very short bath, but with a very good shower to make up for it.
The garden was the biggest disappointment. We weren't expecting to get much use out of it, and we knew from the brochure it was a fake lawn, but to have the flowerbeds empty and full of layered cardboard just made it into a less than appealing place to be.
It wasn't wholly clear what to do with recycling - we saved everything and took it to one of the town centre recycle points (behind Keswick Laundry) - but the guide could be a bit clearer.
Overall though we'd happily return. 4 out 5 stars - basics done well and absolutely no complaints about cleanliness. Reviewing the visitor log showed the company were very quick to resolve issues for previous guests, but we had no reason to call them. To make this 5 stars spend a bit of time to spruce up the garden - and perhaps get a longer bed!

Hi Kelvin,
Thank you for review. Red Robin is tucked away on the quiet back streets of Keswick but only a 5-10 minute walk in to the town centre. Fitz Park is close by where you can catch a game of cricket, play tennis or just watch the wildlife on the river which is a popular hunting ground for herons. We are a small, local team who are on hand at all times. Should you have any issues it is aways best to contact as soon as possible us so we can try to resolve. I hope that points raised did not affect your stay too much and you still had a fantastic holiday. A week without rain in Keswick is certainly a rarity!
Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

This is our second visit to this cottage. Very central for Keswick, only a 5 minute walk into the town centre. Lovely comfortable living room and bedrooms, although the twin room (or super king if you have requested) lacks a set of drawers (which could also be used as a dressing table), as there is only a wardrobe with one drawer and if you are staying a week there is not enough space. Lovely bathroom and nice kitchen. The only thing that lets the property down is a half finished garden, which looks a bit untidy. Artificial grass also is not the best idea, especially when it is a dog friendly house! Parking isn’t great, but we only found it difficult over the weekend, during the week it’s fine.
We had one or two issues when we arrived, but Keswick Cottages dealt with them very quickly.

Lovely little house. Quiet area. 10 minutes walk to centre all shops and supermarket. Parking on roads busy but was New Year and was able to park outside house after couple of days. Enclosed garden fab for dogs and children. Spotless and modern. Log burner a bonus. Highly rate property and Keswick Cottages.

We have just returned from a short break to Red Robin and it was perfect. The house is very central in Keswick, just a short walk and you are in the centre. The house is nicely decorated and very warm and homely. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you needed. Comfy bed and nice modern bathroom. The garden seems to be undergoing a refurb which looks a bit untidy at the moment, but will look nice when finished. Will definitely return in the future.

Thank you for your amazing 5* review of Red Robin, we are delighted that you had such a good stay. Warm and homely is just how we want the properties to feel, especially at this chilly time of year! The garden renovation is underway and will be finished once the weather improves a little! Hopefully you will visit the property again to see the finished project :-) We'd love to host you again and look forward to speaking with you in the future. Best wishes. Keswick Cottages

We arrived at a very inviting house nicely decorated for Christmas. The house was in good condition with nice bedrooms and lovely bathroom. The garden is in the process of refurbishment but false grass is not a good idea for dogs as it gets smelly in warm weather but otherwise a good sized garden

This property is immaculate inside and extremely comfortable. Red Robin is very well presented and ideally situated on a quiet side street, with easy access to the town centre, parks and lake it’s a great choice for a stay in Keswick.
If you’re not going to use the dishwasher, suggest you do need to take washing up liquid and a dishcloth or sponge, but towels and tea towels were amply provided.
Despite being on a side street and there being parking available right outside, it is still only on a first come first served basis and we had to park on Helvellyn Street during our stay - it’s only metres from the property, so no real issue.
A lovely property in a good location and Keswick Cottages were extremely helpful when I had a query - thank you.

Absolute home from home, everything you need, keswick centre practically on the door step.
Just 2 points I would maybe suggest for the owners, Bigger Bath towels and maybe upgrade the bedside lamps to ones with USB sockets for mobile phones because some rooms were a bit scarce on plug sockets.
Will definitely Return

This was our first time staying at Red Robin but would definitely stay again. It is within easy walking distance of all the facilities of Keswick and close to Fitz Park. It is well equipped and has plenty of space for six adults and two dogs. The outdoor area is spacious with a large pleasant decking area for sitting on which will be even more attractive when the planters are filled.
The one improvement I could suggest is making more than one key available.
