I had a wonderful stay at Shelley Cottage. It was a fantastic location - easy walk into the town and great opportunities for amazing walks! All the information given to me prior was perfect and there was lots of helpful information given. The upstairs of the cottage was lovely and cosy and the garden was beautiful to watch the sunset. The only one downfall was the smell downstairs - strong odour of damp.

This was our second year staying in Shelley cottage, having loved it so much last year, and have already booked again for a week next summer! The house is ideally located a short walk from the town centre, which makes parking and driving in/out easy, and is utterly perfect in every way!! The house itself is stunning; beautifully furnished, gorgeously decorated and with a fabulous garden with a view (great if it ever stops raining!) The beds are incredibly comfortable, and they’ve thought of everything you might need for your stay. In short - book it!! (But not when we want it )

The cottage is lovely, with stunning views from the sitting room and kitchen. It is well decorated and furnishedThe kitchen is very well equipped with everything we needed. Lovely bathroom. The summer house and patio could do with upgrading, but we didn't use either as it was so nice in the cottage. Customer service from Keswick Cottages was excellent.

We found Shelley cottage lived up to its description. It was very comfortable, classic decoration and good location. Parking was easy, even with 2 cars as one can be left in the garage. Although on a busy road, it is in a very quiet location. Views from the kitchen and lounge were delightful. We walked via the railway line into Keswick and onward to walks beside Derwent Water. We used the boats and buses to get to various points and it was great to leave the car behind. It is just as easy to walk along the railway line to Threlkeld and beyond. A very easy, warm, comfortable property. The garden does need some TLC and the summerhouse is not quite as inviting as it looks in the pictures. The grass is cut but that is about all. Lovely Grade II listed property with a history.

Pretty little cottage with adequate parking. On a reliable, regular bus route into Keswick or other parts of the Lakes. Easy walk into Keswick on the cycle route about 100 metres from the cottage, away from busy road. Very relaxing few days.

An enjoyable week stay at Shelley Cottage, great location for access to the old railway line which connects straight into Keswick. Although in the main the cottage was good, we felt that the garden needed a tidy up (grass not cut) and the out building at the bottom of the garden needed attention. Lovely views from the small terrace. Issue with damp smell downstairs and the drop in temperature from upstairs to downstairs. Good facilities within the cottage.

We had a fantastic stay in Shelley Cottage. Immediately, it felt warm and inviting. The lounge was lovely for cosy evenings and we slept well in the bedrooms. About 20 minutes to walk into the centre of Keswick. We also walked to Walla Crag, which wasn't too far from the cottage. Didn't get to explore the gardens, but they looked beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at Shelley Cottage. It has been recently refurbished to a very high standard with lovely fully equipped kitchen. It was very cosy and warm. The location was great being a short walk to the old railway line path which goes into Keswick. We had a very relaxing stay and would definitely recommend this cottage.

Beautiful cottage in really handy location. Well equipped, warm and comfortable. Garden would be brilliant in the summer and on a dry day there would be really good views. On site parking a huge bonus. With just a short walk to the centre of Keswick and all the amenities but far enough out to be peaceful the cottage is in the ideal place.

Would certainly book again!

A cosy, tasteful and well equipped cottage decorated beautifully for Christmas.

Shelley Cottage is a cosy, well appointed cottage in the beautiful town of Keswick. The cottage had everything that we needed and beautifully clean throughout. Only a short walk into the centre of Keswick but far enough out that it was lovely and peaceful - the views from the cottage are quite special! We booked through Keswick Cottages who communicated well throughout the stay and the personalised tablet was a nice touch with lots of great local information. We'll definitely book again in the near future. Thanks!

Beautiful cottage with stunning views. Only 2 criticism slight damp/drain smell on the lower floor/bedroom area. Constant dripping noise when raining in the bedroom with double bed from the ledge outside the window.

Shelley cottage is well located with several lovely walks from the doorstep and 15 - 20 mins walk to Keswick centre with the option of the pleasant railway path. We did use the car, but could quite easily have walked everywhere and there is a bus stop very near. The cottage is well appointed, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and has some nice finishing touches to add to the feeling of luxury.
The views from the kitchen and living room window of the beautiful gardens and hills beyond are splendid.
Overall we had a great stay.

Unable to use separate WC for most of visit due to blockage which started with first flush. Issue never fully resolved. Inconvenient but otherwise enjoyed our stay in this well appointed cottage. Internet connection at times poor.

Beautiful house, very nice furnishings and decoration. Gorgeous views.
Only thing we missed was having a washing machine, however this wouldn't prevent me returning or recommending, and it's a nice walk into Keswick along the cycle path

We enjoyed 3 nights at Shelley cottage in February with our 2 young children. It is a beautifully decorated & stylish property and was very cosy and comfortable. It was felt like a lovely relaxing place for a break. There was everything we needed and it only a short few minutes drive into Keswick town centre. We would definitely book to stay here again.

The property has loads of character with lovely unusual features. The decor and furnishings have a real quality feel. Comfortable beds and a good hot shower were very much appreciated. Good location and great view from the upstairs rooms. It was very warm and snug even when bitterly cold outside. I would have welcomed the addition of a washing machine/drier especially in February when the weather can be very wet, or even a clothes airier to hang soggy clothes on. If I had read the list of facilities provided in the property I might have brought more clothes . However most Keswick cottages seem to have these things as a standard provision. A waste bin in the bedrooms and downstairs toilet would have been nice. Overall it was a very comfortable home from home.

Fantastic cottage with everything you need ,immaculate condition,very stylish interior with all the mod cons and everything you could need-very high standard throughout
we stayed over Xmas and were short of nothing in the kitchen!
warm and cosy with lovely views from property -kids loved the garden with its secret section, great for a hot chocolate!
walkable to Keswick town ,castle rig circle etc, great base for exploring the lakes

We picked Shelly Cottage ,as it looked nice inside ,& out ,safe car parking . Garden ,to sit in ,if weather was nice
View from kitchen, ,lounge Windows ,really nice .
Inside touch of modern ,& old ,deco matched the cottage style . Two good size bedrooms ,on lower floor ,plus ,toilet ,wash room

In kitchen every you needed ,nice ,clean ,plenty of how water , towels , ect
We was not sure how to work central heating ,very modern ,the one we have home ,so simple ,switch ,one for hot water ,another
One for the heating !!
The other point , only one door ,to & from cottage ,Windows on landing ,not open , also Windows on lower floor not open
If fire , difficult to get out .Smoke alarms fitted in cottage

To get onto drive of cottage ,best approach from up the hill ,as from down the hill ,not much room ,to get your car , to turn onto drive . Think best drive into town ,as walk back to cottage ,road bit steep
Yes stay there again ,nice homely feel,to the place

A beautifully presented cottage in an ideal location - only a 10 minute walk into Keswick. Stunning views of the surrounding landscape from several windows. Lovely garden and outdoor dining area……plus a summerhouse for a quiet retreat..
Some people might find it a little difficult to get in and out of the bath and tall people might need to crouch slightly due to the shower height.
All in all . . . . . . well worth staying.
