Set in a great location, 10 mins from M1, 5 mins from all facilities you need (including great pubs and cafes), yet feels like the tranquil middle of nowhere. 14 of us celebrating my 70th birthday (ii adults and three children aged 3,5 & 7) this place was perfect. Fabulous space and facilities for kids and adults alike - safe and secure - games room a massive hit, as was the hot tub and the outside area generally including the meadow where we set up and played croquet. Three generations enjoyed this home away from home. It was clean, tastefully decorated and literally had everything you needed. Very spacious property. Very welcoming to pets. The hot tub was great to use after a number of local walks. Tesco a quick drive away to get your holiday essentials We would definitely recommend and would book again!
The cottage was lovely, particularly the large kitchen and the outside terrace with seating. We were there during a heatwave so it was great to be able to sit outside in the evening in such a peaceful location. The walk at the back was level and shadey. There was plenty for young children in the area and we went to Canonhall farm and then on another day to the Canonhall gardens and museum. Wentworth Castle,Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Elsecar Heritage centre were all hits for both adults and children. It was good having ensuites in each bedroom. A lovely cottage with beautiful features, we loved the spacious feel and the games room was ideal for the boys while the girls laid in the lovely hot tub, lovely Owners with such great help regarding walks around the area Thnkyou for a lovely stay x The only negative would be it’s very warm upstairs and need more fans in the rooms, but that wouldn’t stop us coming back at all.
