Halftown Cottages, Argyll

Loudon Cottage is one of two romantic historical holiday cottages, completely restored, are situated on the site of an ancient Highland village, by the shores of Loch Fyne near Strachur, opposite Inveraray in Argyll, Scotland. They are on the beautiful Cowal Peninsula of Argyll.The cottages are only six miles from the main A83 trunk road from Glasgow.

A perfect cottage in the woods not far from the loch amazing wildlife if you want to see the red squirrels give them some nuts and they will entertain you… so many birds, jay , woodpecker. Nuthatch.tree creeper, coal tit, siskin and more. would definitely recommend and consider returning everything you need to relax and enjoy.

Superb location in a protected forest very close to Loch Fyne, really well located for visits to sights/locations in Arglye & Bute and the Cowel peninsular.

Although the decoration and fittings in the cottage are a little tired it we felt that the super quiet and peaceful location, absence of light polution, comfy beds and very good heating more than make up for it. The wildlife outside the window (literraly) is superb - none stop with red squirels, woodpeckers, jays, siskins, wag tails and more. If it's peace and quiet you want this is a great place to find it.
