Stayed in ‘the yurt’ for 2 nights in February and had a fantastic break. Yurt and shower room were spotless and hosts could not be friendlier. Although it was cold outside the yurt, the wood burner made it warm and cosy inside and the hot tub under the stars was a delight. A 5 minute walk to the pub and Chinese takeaway was a bonus, but recommend booking in advance if you want to eat in the pub as very popular especially at weekends. Will be going back for sure.
We have previously stayed in the yurt but that wasn’t available this time so we stayed in the shepherd hut which was lovely. I personally prefer the yurt and want to book again to stay there as it’s a little closer I’m disabled and found the shepherd hut a little far to walk but I cannot fault it at all it’s perfect
Second visit to Walnut Barn Estate. Lovely place to relax, enjoyed the hot tub. Ideal secluded garden for our dachshund. Nice comfy bed, quality furnishings, everything you need . Pub and Chinese takeaway, on doorstep, & can recommend both. Only slight negative, outside space, could benefit a little TLC. All in all, we had a pleasant stay.
Very cosy accommodation. Only downside was how light it was at night being all glass making it hard to sleep. Some of the glass had no blinds and as people were walking past the fence regularly it felt less private.
Only mirror in bathroom so struggle to use hair dryer.
Could do with some hanging/ storage .

The stone barn is quaint and attractive on the outside. It is next to the main driveway, so all the traffic to the complex goes past and stops at the electric gate. Inside, however, it is less attractive. Very small, dated and dark, like a cave. There are dark floors and dark furniture adding to the gloomy, unloved feel. Not somewhere you would want to spend too much time. The jacuzzi bath only has 2 jets on either side, and grey gunk came out of the Jets. The garden was unusable due to being on a slope and covered with plums (and wasps eating the plums) which our dog was also eating. It is a...more
This was a first holiday of this type for us with three generations of family. I did think it expensive but it was very good. The main reason I chose this accommodation was because of the three family units of king bed, twin beds on mezanine floor complete with a shower room. All of the rooms that we used had their own ensuite which was what we wanted too.
Things we thought could be improved on were:
The lights outside seemed to be on a dawn to dusk sensor and therefore could not be turned off at night. There were people in the party who could not sleep with light and this light came...more
