Windward Apartment 2, situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park, is a true hidden gem. Recently redesigned for 2024, this first-floor, pet friendly apartment offers generous space, abundant natural light, and breath-taking views from every room. Enter the luxury apartment via the private external staircase. Inside, you'll find the kitchen diner - a beautiful social space where dazzling light pours in through the glass patio doors. We really enjoyed the apartment and views. Is was lovely to have sun on the veranda up to about 4pm

Very clean and well equipped for meal preparation which is important to us.

We throughly enjoyed our short break, the apartment was perfect, meals at the boathouse were excellent. The only negative was that there were no dog washing facilities, if they had been available this accommodation would have been 100% perfect. Local walks and an excellent base to visiit the lakes

The apartment was gorgeous. Large luxurious rooms, with a great balcony and view of the marina and it had everything we could possibly need. The Christmas tree was beautifully decorated and a lovely touch. We loved the apartment and couldn't fault it.

The apartment was lovely , comfortable, spotless. Decorated to a high standard.
The negative, for me !!!!
The metal stairs to get to the apartment , are a little steep, when carrying up luggage etc.
Would I stay in this apartment again, yes I would .

We stayed in Windward 2, a beautiful apartment at the end of the Marina. The decor was outstanding - better than a 5 star hotel! The Marina is such a special place to stay, clean, quiet, extremely well maintained with plenty of places to dispose of general rubbish/bottles and doggy do! All properties face the Marina which houses many fabulous boats and it's a view you never tire of. This was our third visit and definitely won't be our last and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a first class self catering stay in the Lakes.

This is my 10th visit to Winderemere Marina!
Fabulous lakeside location with excellent accommodation. Also an excellent position for both the Haws-head Ferry and Bowness on Windermere.
The Customer Service is exceptional and nothing is too much trouble.
The accommodation is of the highest standard , well equipped and maintained.

Fantastic spotless apartment!
Nice balcony overlooking the Marina which gets the sun til 4ish and the other outside space gets the sun til 6ish.
Lovely marina and great restaurant/bar which is dog friendly and staff very welcoming.
Great walk along the lakeside into Bowness, to get our daily ice cream!
Definitely coming back next year, thank you!

Would highly recommend Winward Apartment 2. Newly refurnished to a high standard, has everything you need. Great location as just a 10 minute walk into Windermere but also onsite bar/restaurant.

This apartment had recently been refurbished and had been done in a very tasteful way - the living room in particular was fantastic, very spacious with lovely views onto the balcony and over the marina. The location is excellent being only a 15 minute lovely lakeside walk into Bowness meaning that you don't have to take the car there and try to park which can be very difficult in high season. The only downside was the lack of drawer/shelf space suitable for clothes which don't need hanging up. Shame as everything else was perfect.

WOW this apartment is stunning. Feels as though you are stepping into the FAB shop. Everything is high quality and extremely comfortable. The view from the balcony is amazing. Would definitely stay here again. Slight negative the entrance could do with a spruce up as looked dirty an unwelcoming and the furniture on the balcony was old and unfitting with the rest of the apartment but this wouldn’t put me off booking again. Thank you for a FABulous stay!!

It was easy to find the apartment, which was situated within a wonderful, safe complex only accessible via a controlled entrance.
The location meant you didn't need to tackle the parking in Bowness, which, over the weekend, was horrendous!

Good points: The apartment itself was compact and beautifully furnished. It had a decent-sized TV, microwave and oven that were new and easy to use.

Moderate points - As a tech fan, some things didn't seem to work correctly, but that may be my understanding of operating them! 1, The fire didn't switch on, although it wasn't required in August the lighting effect would have been nice though. 2, There was a lighting system and speakers in the ceiling, but as far as I could work out, these weren't working either. You could see an investment in a recent refurbishment, which tempted me to book the apartment.

Disappointing points - The mattress in the main bedroom was a little uncomfortable, and the quilt was far too thick. I would also suggest installing a fan during summer, as these apartments are well-insulated.
I know some of these comments make me sound unhappy, but you come to expect your bed to be super comfortable based on the price you pay and the fact that the apartment was recently refurbished. Both of the gripes are easily fixed, though, by replacing the mattress and offering a lightweight quilt.

Summary - I would recommend this apartment to others who wish to visit the lakes and want a base which is within walking distance of Bowness

Hello we stayed at number 2 after veiwing the other apartments on line. As per the norm we expected not to find everything as the on line pics/detail said but my lord this appartment was absolutley as described and might i add for us personally more.
Peaceful to the last, spacious in a bundence, we did not take/buy provitions but we certainly will next time.
Looking out across the whole Marina, what a veiw to lose your thoughts in. My only regret is i didn't take longer away from work.
Awesome. Marina restaurant/bar also has a large outside area to be enjoyed.
Our little dog loved the whole layout of the apartment including the balcony that she could walk in and out of safley.

Having been a guest on a friends booking last year I was expecting to stay in a similar property, but I was wrong. Windward apartment 2 was much bigger than the previous property with a separate kitchen dining area and a massive lounge with bi-fold doors overlooking the Marina. The master bedroom was large with a good size en-suite and the second bedroom which can be either a super king double or twin beds was just opposite the family bathroom, ideal for two couples staying. The apartment was clean and looked as though it had recently been modernised and updated. The only minor let down was that there was not enough crockery, cutlery and wine glasses. I find it pointless putting on the dishwasher when you have only glasses, cups and breakfast stuff to wash. More of all of the above would save having to wash up by hand as you can load the dishwasher till it’s full. Only 2 champagne glasses
The external stairs to the apartment are steep so if you are unsteady on your feet this is perhaps not the apartment for you.
Overall a great experience.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed in this apartment and found the place excellent. We enjoyed the views out to the marina and there is plenty room in the apartment to relax. Beds were great, kitchen well equipped and the coffee machine with pods included is a nice touch. The whole place is very clean and warm and there isn't any noise at all from the surrounding area. We will definitely return.
