We had a lovely two night stay in Meadow Hide. It was cosy, clean and well equipped. The hot tub was a great bonus plus the swings! The setting was so peaceful but was close to lots of things to do. Will definitely come back another time.

The location and design of the accommodation is peaceful and luxurious. We enjoyed watching the wildlife from the hot tub and relaxing in front of the fire. A very serene stay!

Really enjoyed this lodge. Great interiors and very cosy.
In a wonderful location for lots of different activities.
We had an issue with our hot tub whilst we stayed and it was sorted ASAP with no inconvenience.
Looking forward to staying again in the future.

Meadow Hide is a unique place, in part because of its location overlooking the meadow and in part because of the aesthetics of the place. We were able to see plenty of wildlife, various birds, deer including a mother with a fawn who was still feeding from her. A very special moment. As others have mentioned there is some road noise from the nearby A27, but that quickly became unobtrusive. We liked the proximity to the dark sky reserve, amazing night skies when we were there.
Meadow Hide is very comfortable, big squashy sofas, large windows and skylights. The bed was large and comfortable. Cleanliness was impeccable. Everything we needed for cooking was there. There was information about places to visit and we had a lovely welcome from Sarah who explained local walks and places to go. We didn’t use the hot tub nor the outdoor spaces as the weather was a bit too cool but they looked clean and well maintained.
We enjoyed our stay very much.

Nice enough lodge but lacks cupboards in bedrooms (no where to put clothes besides some hanging space) & no dishwasher, also felt mean with crockery & cutlery (3 wine glasses & 4 spoons etc)

This was our second stay at Meadow Hide and it was just as lovely as the first. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable the owners really have provided everything you could need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. During some inclement weather we enjoyed sitting under the covered veranda off the main bedroom and also enjoyed some calm evenings in the hot tub watching the deer wander past and catching glimpses of owls. There are a lot of things to do in the local area and Meadow Hide is a welcome place to return to at the end of the day.

This was our fourth visit to Oakwood West but our first time in Meadow Hide. All the properties have a unique character and this time we were keen to experience the meadow and it's wildlife from the lodge that is closest to this. Meadow Hide is also different as it's on a single level which is a nice change as the bedrooms and lounge are immediately next to the meadow at the same level, so you see anything happening there such as the morning visit from the deer or the morning/evening birdsong in the main bedroom.

Meadow Hide probably feels the most private of the lodges, as it's tucked away and this makes for an even better experience whilst using the hot tub but also being open to the meadow at the same time. The outside decking area also got the sun on half of it from midday onwards until dusk, which meant you could sit in the sun if you want this or move the chairs to the shade.

There isn't a dishwasher in Meadow Hide compared to the other lodges but to be honest we never missed this as it was just two of us and the water was really hot with a large kitchen sink

We always try to visit and do new things when we visit and the area has so much to do and see it's easy not to repeat, although some of the places like West Dean and the Weald and Downland Museuam are well worth a second visit. This time we visited the NT properties of Mottisfont and Hinton Ampner over the Hampshire border, did a long walk around the Cissbury and Chanctonbury rings near Findon, walked from West Itchenor to West Wittering and East Head and back, walked around Black Down near Haslemere, walked around the East Dean forest at Goodwood and walked around the nearby area of Compton and West Marden. We like walking, as does our dog!

Our stay at Meadow Hide was lovely and I'm sure we will return again

We recently stayed at Meadow Hide as a family of 3 with our baby & golden retriever & had such a lovely time. We loved spotting deer from the terraces & windows & the interior design finishes on the inside made the space feel so luxurious & unique, that it was a pleasure to stay in & enjoy some family time. The hot tub was lovely in the evenings after our little one went to bed but we also found there was so much to do during the day, as it was very dog / family friendly locally too. Some of the plates & bowls were a bit mismatched but that would be the only small thing to improved upon, otherwise Sarah was a lovely helpful host & we wouldn’t hesitate to rebook!

We spent a very pleasant long weekend here.
Loved the hot tub, especially because with being positioned as set into the decking it was so easy to climb in and out!
Sofas declared the most comfortable ever!
Really loved the little covered veranda with the swinging chairs! A shame that the only access is through the bedroom.
The deer provided evening and early morning entertainment but alas no owls.

Bosham best place for bacon batch whilst watching the tide come in.
Thanks for a relaxing couple of days.

We spent three days at Meadow Hide. Although the weather was terrible we made as much use of the hot tub as possible. Meadow Hide is a lovely place to stay. We think it is more ideal for a weekend stay rather than staying for a week. There is lack of storage in the bedroom (next to bathroom) for clothes which don’t require hanging and we didn’t like the window frame above the bed as we were worried about hitting our heads on the frame overnight (not an issue if set up as twin). We also felt that it wasn’t as well equipped as other places we have stayed. It also could have a blind in the living room as the sun was so low we had to sit with our sunglasses on!

Very enjoyable and hospitable, with lots of wildlife to observe and a wonderful hot tub facility. Maybe a little bit too much road/rail noise as we'd anticipated a slightly more rural setting, but still restful and restorative nonetheless. Sarah was very considerate and helpful and friendly. Great for our two dogs also. Would definitley consider returning. For one of the party the pillows were a little harder than usually used at home

Generally a lovely cabin and the host was very communicative and helpful. Would note the cushions are feathers which hit my allergies but that's just a note for us! Was a bit closer to the other properties than realised but well set up so never really heard anyone else. Best if you have a car as train station walk was basically just along the road (though if less muddy, probably another route available). Generally though, lovely space that was well stocked, comfortable, and quiet.

Meadow Hide is a wonderful cosy cottage overlooking fields containing deer and other wildlife. We had a lovely stay, the hosts were very communicative and friendly. We arrived to a lovely welcome package including a full set up for our dog (inc. treats!). The property was extremely well maintained and it was very cosy to curl up in front of the log burner.

Meadow Hide is a real gem. On the edge of the other properties, overlooking the meadow it feels tranquil and private. The open plan living area has the wow factor with lots of light from the glass panel in the roof and the large corner windows. The place was spotlessly clean and had everything you could want for a relaxing visit. The covered outdoor decking area off the main bedroom was great for sitting out in while it was raining under a cosy blanket (of which there are plenty dotted around the property!). We also enjoyed sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars. The whole place is spacious and beautifully decorated with a nature theme, special mention to the beautifully hand painted birds and insects dotted around the place…they were beautiful. Sarah popped round shortly after we arrived to check everything was ok and give us some pointers on things to do in the local area. It was lovely to meet her and we felt that if any problems had arisen during our stay she would have been on hand to help. We are so pleased to have found this place and will definitely be going back!

We enjoyed 5 days here on a last minute break. The cabin is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and designed. The hot tub and deck off the main bedroom are also well designed and encourage relaxation. Couldn't fault the property and Sarah was a great host; available and responsive but not overbearing. Would highly recommend a stay at Meadow Hide or one of the adjacent properties.

Private, gated rural sussex location, nicely appointed luxury 2-bedroom cabin. Well equipped incl WiFi (no dishwasher) & well heated/insulated. Bijou, but fine for a weekend break. Convenient parking for 2 cars adjacent. Winery tours at nearby Ashling Park & sea views over tidal bay 5-mins drive away in village (check the tide times). Good cafe’s nearby, reasonable pub choice for Sunday Lunch & plenty of outdoor things to do in the South Downs. In the property, with windows open, or sitting outside in the hot tub or swing seats there is distant A27 road-noise. The road is quieter than the birdsong but is constant. My husband is exceptionally noise sensitive, slept poorly & cut his stay short. My teenager & I were happily oblivious. Fine for “normal” people. Not so good for those with super-sensitive hearing.

We found Meadow Hide to be a very relaxing, comfortable escape from our hectic lifestyle. Watching the deer graze, play and wander through the meadow was magical along with the foxes and birdlife. The property was very clean and the welcoming bubbles and chocolate a thoughtful gesture. The dogs also enjoyed their doggy treats.
Whiling away time in the hot tub was a treat following walks through the local woods having had a pint in a local pub.
The information sent prior to departure was very informative and the warm welcome received shortly after arrival was helpful.
Would certainly recommend staying at Meadow Hide.

We chose this lodge due to my mother mobility issues, Meadow View was prefect for her and Sarah was extremely helpful on arrival and offered a shower chair for use that week. The lodge was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay plus a lovely welcome pack. Useful guide in lodge with walks for wheelchairs which we did several off. Lovely walks for dogs if you take your pet and when walking in the woodland near this property spot a herd of deer's plus when sitting on porch on swing chairs in the evening spot a couple deer's walking in meadow. Hot tub was quiet and lovely to get in after a long walk. We all enjoy our holiday and looking to book again next year.

Just come back from a lovely break at Meadow Hide. Sarah the host was always available (not in your face) and at anytime I sent an email/message Sarah would return such immediately/friendly service unmatched.
Watched deer from our hot tub (note without fail Sarah every morning ensured hot tub working properly adding cleaning products. But again she was polite knocking before coming over). Loved the decor in the rooms and lovely to get a thoughtful little welcome pack that I wasn't aware of. Nice pubs and walks to be had in the vicinity. Lovely chilled relax break thank you

We would like to thank Sarah for an AMAZING week.
We have had a well and truly fabulous time here at Meadowhide, which was very much needed!
The place was clean and well equipped, the hot tub a real bonus!
Sarah our host was friendly, there to ask any questions and discreet when checking the hot tub, we felt very very much at ease here.
We spotted deer most mornings, this place is absolutely beautiful, would highly recommend!

A wonderful stay at Meadow Hide. Fantastic accommodation and welcoming, friendly host. Beautiful, peaceful location with plenty of wildlife. Loved the hot tub and al fresco dining whilst watching the deer. Loads to do in surrounding area including country pubs, forest walks, sandy beaches, Bosham and Chichester harbours, and Chichester shops and Cathedral to mention but a few. Our second visit and another super, memorable holiday. So much thought seems to have gone into ensuring guests (and doggies) have a wonderful stay. Thank you once again Sarah.

We’ve just returned from a lovely stay at Meadow Hide. It was a real treat, a very peaceful and relaxing break. We received a warm welcome upon arrival and the lodge was private and well equipped with all the comforts you could want. We took our pooch and he was also well catered for. There are plenty of places to explore in the area and we’re looking to plan a return asap. We ate like kings due to local restaurants offering all sorts and enjoyed all our meals al fresco in our own secluded garden surrounded by beautiful nature. We were lucky enough to spot a group of deer and a barn owl during our visit. This place is a real gem and we didn’t want to leave!

We booked a last minute stay at Meadow Hide and very pleased we did. We've just come home and feel thoroughly relaxed. We have a 15 month old so the hot tub was well used during nap times and at night to star gaze, the bottle of proseco provided went down very well! They prepared the cabin well for wondering hands and provided a high chair and bath for our boy. Location is great with West Wittering Beach a short distance away, Bosham, Ashling Park Estate Vineyard, Chichester, Gunwharf Quays and plenty of pubs. A great find and would thoroughly recommend a stay, we certainly want to go back.

We stayed at Meadow Hide for our Christmas break this year and it was just wonderful. There was even a Christmas tree and some decorations, and some treats for us all when we arrived. Meadow Hide is a luxurious and secluded retreat to relax and unwind in surrounded by nature. We enjoyed watching deer, rabbits and so many birds from the comfort of the cabin. The cabin itself has been newly constructed with great eco friendly credentials and wonderful, unique and artistic interior design to a high spec. Beautiful part of the country, lots to explore, a few of our highlights included the ancient Yew tree forest in Kingsvale nature reserve, Bosham Quay and Chichester cathedral. Unwinding in the hot tub under the stars was a great way to round of our days. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and shown around, site was superbly run and maintained, would definitely love to return in the future.

A very private accommodation surrounded by a wildlife meadow. Hot tub not overlooked by other people.
In a property of this standard, I would expect to have a dishwasher.
The sofas have very deep seats, so do not provide good back support even with the cushions.
In all other respects an excellent choice.

Where do I start? We’ve just come home and want to go back again already! The accommodation is just beautiful, with little details everywhere. The decor is lovely, down to the hand painted animals on the walls and driftwood light fitting in the living room, it really was a home from home. The hot tub and the swing chairs were my favourite features, so we could sit and watch the deer and owls in the evening. Sarah was so helpful and any questions we had she was always there. Thank you for the best stay!

We had a truly tremendous stay at Meadow Hide. We were greeted by Sarah who showed us around and gave us some top tips for good walks (with a nice pub on route).
The accommodation was faultless. Every minor detail in the lodge had been carefully thought out and it created such a lovely atmosphere to be in.
The location was ideal and so close to many amenities.
We had the most relaxing weekend as a family and we couldn’t want for any more. It was just perfect! Thank you so much. We would 100% recommend!!
