Useful location next to station and bus station and huge Morrison supermarket. Very short walk to the Centre of town. Spacious and well equipped. No dishwasher. Heating is by electric convector heaters, so you keep having to turn them on and off.
One platform of the station is immediately parallel to the sitting room and double bedroom, so trains are about 10 yards from the windows. The Caledonian sleeper is moved there at 6:30 pm every night and revs up its diesel engine continuously until it leaves at 7:50 pm. This is very noisy and you should keep the windows closed to avoid the fumes. At 7.20 am the steam train also enters that platform which means you wake up.
The mattress of the double room sags very badly, I have never seen anything like it, it looks as if there is like a big hole in the middle. I moved to the small bedroom which is better and also quieter but my poor husband had to stick it out.
All in all it is a nice flat but because of the very bad bed I would not book it again. For the price of neatly £200 a night I would expect to be able to sleep without back pain in the mornings.
