Purchased in 1953, Shady Hall Farm was a working dairy farm until 2006 when Karen and Allan, along with their two children, decided to move back and begin renovating the original buildings. After two years braving life in a caravan, the main Farmhouse was finally ready to live in and in the years since we have worked continuously to complete renovations on the remaining farm buildings. Shady Hall farm now has 3 beautiful self-catering properties; The Stone Barn, The Milking Parlour, and The Cow Shed.
All three have been sympathetically restored in-keeping with the Farmhouse's original exterior. Inside they boast spacious and modern living, with private enclosed gardens and covered hot tubs to relax in all year round.
Located within the Moss Valley and on the border between North East Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, Shady Hall farm offers stunning views across the valley and gives guests a chance to 'escape to the country'.
We booked all 3 barns for a mixed generation family celebration which worked perfectly. There was a very heavy and unexpected snowfall the night before our stay, but Chloe kept us updated at all times on the situation, and her whole family worked tirelessly to clear paths and parking spaces for us to still stay.
Once we arrived the cottages were superb! There were so many special touches to make us feel welcome and you can tell the effort and care that has gone into the design of all the cottages. The kitchens were really well equipped and the whole cottage was clean and beautifully presente...more
We visited during our trip home from Australia along with family who had just got married. The Cow Shed provided the perfect luxury getaway we hoped it would & more. The location is beautiful, and the property exceeded expectations. Warm, cosy, immaculately clean with such added home comforts & super beds. The decor is beautiful & we loved the addition of the two Christmas trees & decorations. Karen & Allan are impeccable hosts & couldn’t do enough during our stay. We arrived to such a gorgeous welcome hamper & then more treats upon opening the fridge. The hot tub was the icing on the cake in ...more
We had a fabulous and relaxing time. A special bonus was the hot tub; sitting in the hot tub while looking at the beautiful countryside, amazing! Directly from the property, we went for a lovely walk to one of the pubs; a good walk followed by a pub lunch, the best time had! The property is very well maintained. As soon as we walked through the door, we know we would enjoy our stay. Thank you for the added touches to make our stay special. We will definitely return.
