We would highly recommend this place. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation is lovely and the location is absolutely beautiful - if you like quiet and rural. It’s very well equipped, very clean, and thoughtfully designed and laid out. We enjoyed going for walks and playing tennis on the owners court. There were lots of lovely welcoming touches waiting for us when we arrived.

We spent 5 nights at the Old Stables to be close to family over the Christmas period. The Old Stables is lovely; well presented, comfortable and had everything we needed to host a small family Christmas lunch. The owners were very accommodating and were on hand to help with any additional requirements (such as an extra dining chair!) There was a generous welcome pack on arrival which was much appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again, especially during the summer as the surrounding countryside is beautiful.

We had a fantastic stay at the Old Stables in West Sussex. The cottage was beautiful. Very well equipped and Nicky and Peter were the perfect hosts. The welcome basket including butter, eggs, bread and a bottle of red was very much appreciated after our long journey.

The location is excellent for exploring the surrounding villages and trying out the top class local pubs. Nicky and Peter have prepared a tourist brochure for the cottage and we were not disappointed by their recommendations of places to visit: Midhurst, Petworth, Amberley, Arundel...to name but a few.

The cottage has a lovely terrace garden, which we enjoyed for dinner and after-dinner board games.

I would very highly recommend this accommodation.

This is a lovely, peaceful place to stay, immaculately presented and beautifully decorated. Lots of things to see and do nearby. We had a great break in the countryside!

This stable conversion has been effectively and tastefully carried out. Everything is provided; the guest wants for nothing. The owners also provide a few groceries to tide their guests over. Of particular value to this guest, after wearying days of walking, were an effective and quick-responding central heating system and instant and plentiful hot water.

This is a beautiful location with excellent views. Warm weather guests will surely enjoy the pergola for outdoor eating and the private courtyard area for enjoying the views and fresh air.

We had a lovely stay in this cosy cottage and enjoyed its tranquil surroundings. It’s a perfect spot for a short rural break with the characterful Petworth and Midhurst a short drive away. Woodland walks start pretty much from the front door. We weren’t looking to eat out every night and so the well equipped kitchen was a definite bonus. The hosts are friendly and accommodating.

The Old Stables provided an excellent base for a few days in this lovely part of the UK. The accommodation was just as described and hosts Nicky and Peter were very friendly and helpful. The welcome pack was a nice addition and we would not hesitate to recommend the Old Stables to anybody thinking of booking it.

My month long stay at The Old Stables was great - and in particular the thoughtful and welcoming hospitality of Nicky and Peter. The cottage is a delightful gem in the most beautiful countryside. Fantastic range of gastro pubs and the Cowdray Estate make this a very special area - along with huge range of beautiful walks.

The cottage is lovely and comfortable 'home from home'. It is compact and well designed and works well. Beds, and the linens are comfortable, and we spent several evenings enjoying dinner and TV films at the cottage, after full days of walks and lunches out! Nicky and Peter were always quickly responsive to our queries, gracious and helpful.

All in all I would highly recommend staying at this gorgeous cottage.
