Quite simply the best English property I’ve stayed at. Everything well above average in this superbly equipped and pretty Cottage. The Owner had left an excellent welcome for me and visited to ensure all well. It was - warm and cosy and a lovely place to come home to after a days work locally. My only fear is I won’t be able to book it next time! Thank you so much.
We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at Library Cottage, with its beautiful walled garden, many lovely walks from the door, such welcoming hosts and the beautiful rural setting - near lanes, bluebell woods and a short drive to the South Downs.
We had a lovely stay in this cosy cottage and enjoyed its tranquil surroundings. It’s a perfect spot for a short rural break with the characterful Petworth and Midhurst a short drive away. Woodland walks start pretty much from the front door. We weren’t looking to eat out every night and so the well equipped kitchen was a definite bonus. The hosts are friendly and accommodating.
Lovely comfortable beds & reliable WIFI for WFH. We have dust allergies and were not affected staying here as no carpets etc. My wife has mobility issues but stairs nice & wide so no problems using them. Good pub nearby (Smugglers) with large & partially covered beer garden but the garden @the cottage was really peaceful to sit in. Alfriston is a very friendly place.
Generally very good but cold on arrival - needed lounge fire on all day to keep temperature up to acceptable level
