Beautiful, well equipped cottage in very peaceful location - only sounds were the burn, the birds and the sheep. Very comfortable bedrooms and beds. Lots of birds and wildlife. Nice space to sit outside. Garden flowers amazing scent. Tour of the castle was interesting.
My stay at the Burnside Cottage on Monzie Estate was everything I'd hoped for: superb accommodations and amenities, an extremely peaceful location, and the opportunity to explore the estate at my leisure. The tour of the family castle was a highlight. Highly recommended for anyone wanting an authentic Scottish getaway. :)
Absolutely loved this cottage. The cleanliness is top notch, 5* to the housekeepers. Comfortable bed, sofa, has all the things you need for a relaxing stay. The hot tub just finishes it all off. We will definitely return!
Myself and my partner stayed at The East Lodge in celebration of her 80th birthday. Despite some minor niggles (eg a fan in the lower shower-room which ran on for an inordinately long time, an annoyance when trying to get to sleep as it was audible from the main upstairs bedroom) we enjoyed our time there. The owners were helpful and courteous, the ambience peaceful and charming, the bed most comfortable. Thank you, The Crichton family.
My children, partners, grandchildren and I spent a week here to celebrate my birthday. It provided an excellent combination of communal space and comfortable individual rooms to which to retreat. The boys enjoyed the garden and burn at the bottom; the adults enjoyed having the wood burner to gather round on comfy sofas in the evening. We loved being surrounded by sheep, lambs, hills and woods, with the sound of rooks and water. And spotting the occasional red squirrels! A few miles in one direction is Crieff with shops and restaurants; a few miles north is wild moors and mountain views. I...more
