2, The Byres is one of two a newly converted Northumbrian Stone Byres with eco credentials nestled in the rolling hills of the Northumbrian countryside and inside the Northumberland National Park and International Dark Sky Area. Set on the edge of The Boe Rigg campsite with Kielder Water just 20 minutes away and a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants in the traditional market town of Bellingham just two miles away. A picturesque and rural location with the benefit of The Boe Rigg Restaurant and Bar on its doorstep.

One well behaved dog is very welcome

2 The Byres can be booked alongside 1, The Byres to create accommodation for four with the further option to book The Steadings opposite that can accommodate a further 4 to 8 guests.

I was recommended the accommodation by my son and it was the perfect place for my husband and Labrador Mabel to escape for a couple of nights. Very comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen was all we needed and we weren't disappointed
Will we stay again?? You bet we will

We found that the Byres was the perfect stop for our short cycling holiday break. The accommodation was clean and had all the facilities we needed. Having a full kitchen meant we could cook anything we needed but also having the bar/restaurant onsite allowed us to have takeaway too. Would definitely recommend this as a base for exploring the area.

I surprised my boyfriend with a birthday stay at the Byres. We both adored the countryside (especially the animals) and love waking up to the image of sheep and rolling fields. The location is stunning. Despite the pouring rain, we had a lovely time eating birthday cake, watching Christmas movies and listening to the raindrops on the skylight.

The facilities in the cottage were perfect for a party of two, we would have perhaps liked a double sofa rather than two armchairs but I understand space is limited and it did not have an impact on our stay. I thought it best to mention there was a mark on a bath towel and on a mug. If I am honest, it did not bother us too much we are very understanding and accommodating of the amount of cleaning that is required and we would miss spots ourselves!

I would love to stay at The Byres again or an alternative cottage with family and/or friends. It is a beautiful escape with walks and cosy pubs on your doorstep, I would recommend.

There's a long COVID related tale of how we got there, but we're pleased we did. The Byers was cosy, warm, comfortable and has a well equipped kitchen. But if you don't feel like cooking there's the Bo Rigg bar and restaurant 50 yards away plus the Bellwether just opposite to cater for your artistic needs. You can only comment on customer service if you have used it, so I can say that Sam and Vicky were 1st class, both in sorting the booking and responding to an issue, despite it being a Sunday evening, cheers girls. It's an ideal spot for visiting Northumberland, but only a couple of miles from Bellingham and a short drive to Kielder. Great place for a cosy couple getaway, dog friendly and yes we'd go again.
