The Penthouse Apartment and Bridal Suite offers the best of this historic Grade II building. An extremely, light spacious apartment with beautiful original features, a huge master bedroom, a further king sized bedroom and large bathroom with walk in shower and roll top bath. The substantial hallway with original features and wooden floors provides a dining area for four and leads to a large living space with feature fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating and lighting.

This apartment provides a bright and luxurious place for a wedding party to get ready. It’s flooded with natural light making perfect for wedding day hair, make up and photographs to record the start of your special day.

This Penthouse Apartment shares the main entrance with other apartments but has an additional flight of of private stairs to it’s front door.

I stayed here for my wedding as it was so close to our venue , it is absolutely beautiful, so clean , everything we needed , beds were super comfortable and the views were amazing . I didn’t want to leave and wish I had booked a longer stay !

I booked apartment 7 for my wedding at Hexham House, a stunning location and a perfect place to stay pre and post wedding! It felt like a home from home with all the comforts and a bit of luxury. The space the apartment offers is also amazing for everyone to get glammed and ready without tripping over each other.

We absolutely loved staying here for our wedding day. The apartment was exceptionally clean, of high standard and a great size. Our only regret is that we didn’t book to stay for much longer. Our family stayed in the smaller apartments which were still surprising big and all said the same!

We shall definitely stay again at Hexham House in the future - either for an anniversary or just a break. This is now a very special place to us!

Two couples spent a couple of nights here and enjoyed it greatly.

The accommodation was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Everything you need is in the apartment.

There was a welcome gift in the apartment which was a nice touch. Thanks.

We had two cars and were left a pass for one of them in the Abbey car park and had to find a public space for the 2nd. There is a public car park just across the road and we were lucky enough to get a space for the duration of our stay. That said there are two parking discs in the apartment that could be used for parking anywhere in Northumberland, very handy.

Everything in Hexham is within easy walking distance and if you want to visit the Roman Forts or Hadrian’s Wall the AD122 bus service can be used for £2 per journey. The bus station is about 10-15 minutes walk away.

We had a great visit and would be happy to stay here again.

I booked this for my daughter as she was getting married at the Winter Gardens and we don’t live in the area. It was a fabulous place to get ready for the wedding and the photographer (2tonephoto) took some gorgeous shots in the apartment. It was extremely convenient in terms of location and my daughter and her new husband enjoyed walking back through the streets of Hexham at the end of the day. Its lovely that it looks out over the Hexham House gardens.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Apartment 7. The flat is in a superb location with great views to Hexham Abbey and Sele Park. The Georgian building has been sympathetically restored and is very stylish and comfortable. We greatly appreciated the generous welcome pack and half bottle of Prosecco. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. It was great to have a parking space and to be able to walk to shops and restaurants. We would definitely like to return.

I stayed in Hexham House apartment 7 the night before my wedding and my wedding night. When I arrived there was a congratulations sign and a bottle of Prosecco left out for me (along with other goodies). It was the most wonderful welcome! The apartment is absolutely stunning and was so perfect for getting ready the morning of my wedding. There was plenty of room for all of us and makeup and hair stylists. The hosts couldn't do enough for us to make it perfect and I'm already planning my next stay back! There are also perfect little bars and restaurants surrounding the apartments. My family stayed in some of the other apartments in the building and they were also so impressed! Such a great choice for our wedding. Thank you Sam and Vicky! Your added touches really make all the difference.

Absolutely beautiful apartment in a lovely location. It had everything we needed, very comfortable, lovely furnishings. Kitchen and bathroom facilities were great with a lovely shower and separate bath. Beautiful views overlooking the bowling green and Abbey. Added bonus of a welcome pack which was lovely too. We booked Apartment 7 as one of two for our small family wedding. It is really beautiful from decoration to facilities. A very welcoming place to stay. The views of the gardens and park are gorgeous. From booking to leaving, everything was perfect!

All of the apartments at Hexham House are stunning, but this one really is the best. The apartment is bright and so generous with its space and features. We booked this apartment for a wedding and it was ideal to use for getting ready and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone getting married in Hexham. Even if you're not getting married, consider booking this apartment as a treat, because you really won't be disappointed. A huge thank you to Sam and Vicky at Wooden Star Cottages for being so accommodating. They do a fantastic job and are the very best hosts.

We have just spent four night in this lovely apartment. The location is excellent with easy access to local amenities, the Abbey and railway station. The views from the apartment are also great. During our booking process we had reason to contact Sam and Vicky who were more than accommodating and helpful. The parking arrangements using the private Abbey car park is also a nice addition. A nice touch too with the flowers and welcome pack.Thank you.

We had a lovely stay at Hexham House in Apartment 7. The apartment was very spacious and beautifully decorated (we even had a Christmas tree in the apartment as we stayed In December). We were provided with a lovely welcome pack and a car park pass for a nearby carpark which was only a very short walk away. Vicky and Sam couldn’t have been more helpful - they even acted as witnesses in our wedding at Hexham House! We will definitely be back to Hexham House and would highly recommend.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite and everything was perfect.
A small gift was left on the table and prosecco in the fridge
We were even left a wedding card which was an extra touch and made us feel very special .
We would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a lovely weekend at the penthouse apartment. There were just a few areas which could have been a little cleaner.

On arrival, there were hairs in the bathroom on the toilet seat, in the bath and in the bottom of the shower cubicle.
There were some stains to rugs also.
