Seal Cottage is a lovely double-fronted Northumbrian stone-built cottage dating back to 1880. Spacious, immaculately presented and well equipped it enjoys the benefit of being beside the open expanse of Sele Park where there are views towards the magnificent Hexham Abbey and across the Tyne Valley.

This cottage provides a peaceful resting place in a superb central location for exploring and excellent public transport links mean that it is also a great base for those who wish to explore the region without a car.

We had a lovely week exploring Hexham and surrounding areas.

The house has everything you would ever need when being away from home :)

Everything is in walking distance and people at the Fox were very welcoming

Lovely cottage, warm and welcoming. The beds are very comfortable, and a quiet area made for good nights sleep all round.

We have stayed in this cottage for the last three years when visiting our friends in Hexham and we love it. The location couldn’t be better and it is so clean and comfortable. The cottage has everything you need and you don’t need to rush off to the supermarket on arrival as all essentials are provided - we all look forward to the Welcome Pack! We definitely will be booking again.

There were 3 of us and we all felt relaxed and felt at home. The lovely people running the place just helped and were wonderful. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were. Great location, clean and little personal touches that made me smile

Information prior to check in was clear.
Cottage was beautifully decorated and well equipped.
Park gave plenty of space for children to run around.
Was lovely not to have to use car to access town.

Visited some lovely restaurants and enjoyed swimming at leisure centre

Such a beautiful cottage in an excellent peaceful location . Close to beautiful Sele Park and a lovely short stroll into the gorgeous Northumberland town of Hexham. The cottage is well appointed and comfortable . Very homely - you even get chocolates by the bed and a welcome pack!
The only thing we missed were gin glasses & large wine glasses as we all enjoy a wine spritzer! Sam & Vicky are excellent hosts - great communicators who want your stay with them to be as enjoyable as possible !
Would I stay again?-in a heartbeat ❤️

Wonderful cottage - clean & comfortable.

We have just enjoyed 2 relaxing days in this beautiful cottage, located in the quaint town of Hexham.

Seal Cottage is a spacious double fronted Northumbrian stone built cottage which sleeps 5.

The interior is modern and homely and the little touches throughout are lovely. With star decor dotted around the whole cottage in homage to the owner’s business name.

Bed linen and towels are provided for each guest and I especially loved the little gift of chocolates by each bedside. (I mean, I liked the thought but didn’t get the chance to enjoy once the girls spotted them).

The living room is so cosy, with 2 large sofas, an electric fire and smart TV. Perfect to spend a family night watching movies or playing board games (which are kindly provided alongside toys for younger children and books for all ages)

Each bedroom is spacious, with a double bed, single bed and king size bed (which can be converted into 2 singles). There is also a travel cot and baby monitor provided if you need it.

The kitchen is well equipped with amenities you need, including, oven, fridge, dishwasher, washer and all pots/pans etc.

This is a cosy cottage with no vehicular access but there is free parking about a 5 minute walk away.

It is a stones throw away from Hexham abbey & Sele Park, which has a childrens play park so my daughter Makenzie was over the moon.
It is a 10 minute walk from town and local shops.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was comfortable, warm and very clean giving us a good base for the area.

Lovely cottage situated very central in Hexham and close to all of the amenities you would need. Very spacious and in a quiet area of the town. Although a parking space isn't included, the instructions provided by Sam and Vicky are so detailed and include all of the information you need. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Wooden Star Cottages as they really do take care of their guests and make them feel so welcome in their properties.

The cottage is in an excellent location, walking distance to everything. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the cottage has a well-supplied kitchen. Sam and Vicky are attentive hosts. We're repeat visitors, which probably says it all.

The cottage was perfect in every way. The location (right by the centre) couldn’t have been better. As soon as we entered we knew we had got the right place: it was clean, warm and had everything you needed. My children especially enjoyed the welcome chocolates! We have booked again for next year already.

We had a lovely break in this cottage. The location was perfect for us and we loved the walk through the park to get into Hexham town centre. Hexham has some great independent restaurants and we enjoyed our meals out. The cottage was cosy and very comfortable with everything we needed. Would absolutely recommend.
