The Stables offers flexible accommodation for up to 6 guests across three en-suite bedrooms. The living and dining area provides comfortable seating, and the modern kitchen leads to a useful utility/dog room with WC. The south-facing terrace offers stunning views of the Northumberland countryside and an additional space to relax in the warmer months.

The accommodation was excellent with 3 king size en-suite bedrooms, a modern fully equipped kitchen & comfortable Lounge/dining room.

Plenty of off road parking space.

The cottage was located adjacent to a farmhouse in a stunningly beautiful quiet countryside setting, approx 3/4 of a mile from the main road down a single carriageway tarmac road with vehicle passing points. Thankfully we never met another vehicle whilst entering or exiting the accommodation.

Free range chickens were present in the farmyard adjacent the accommodation and sheep were grazing nearby, (but not in vicinity of cottage.)

Wooden Star Cottages were excellent communicators from the time we booked the accommodation to the time we departed.

This accommodation is very convenient for enjoying the sights of Northumberland and during our 4 night stay we visited Kielder Forest/Lake (6 mile peninsular walk plus live Osprey nest viewing centre), Cragside National Trust property ( lovely 6.5mile Hydro-walk trail plus stunning gardens throughout the whole site/ return from the top of site lakes via the 1.5 mile gun walk) and visited The Sill centre with a approx 2.5 mile circular walk to take in Sycamore gap. Would highly recommend the Twice Brewed Inn public house ( wirh brewery) where we enjoyed the most delicious steak and ale pie, chips and veg.

Plenty of places to eat out nearby all the places we visited and also in Bellingham itself, although many dont sell food Mon/Tues tea time.

The cottage had everything needed for our short three night break. Really good information provided from agent before, during, and after our stay. All three bedrooms are ensuite which is a real bonus and hard to find, perfect find for three adult family couples. Setting is very green, although a bit remote. Need a car to reach amenities but short drive to some shops and pubs. Close to Kielder which is a good day out. One small annoyance was the early rise of the cockerels each morning. Overall a lovely stay in a lovely cottage at a great price.

The Stables is a very comfortable cottage in a great location. It was very peaceful and we looked forward to seeing the sheep and ducks when we opened the curtains each morning.
It is within 30 minute drive of a number of Hadrian Wall attractions and Hexham which was worth a visit.
The Welcome bag from Wooden Star Cottages was a nice surprise.

Wooden star were great to book with and quickly responded to any requests and queries. The cottage was beautiful in a lovely quiet area. Kitchen very well equipped and instructions were provided for everything by way of a link easily accessed on your phone. No phone signal at all for us on EE but the wifi was excellent so it didn’t worry us.
Large lounge with lots of seating which was very comfortable. Beds were lovely quality and equally as comfortable and we all slept well. Lots of wildlife to spot, we saw foxes, deer, birds, hares and bats as well as meeting the very friendly cats from neighbouring cottages. We would definitely stay again!
