Beautifully designed & newly renovated, West Grange Cottage occupies a quiet corner on the edge of the West Grange Estate with wood-fired sauna and hot tub with commanding views of Rothley Castle ruins and beyond.

The West Grange Estate sits 10 miles west of Morpeth and on the edge of the Northumberland Dark Sky Park, and surrounded by some of Northumberland’s most impressive landmarks such as Wallington Hall, Cragside and Alnwick Castle & Gardens. Hadrian’s Wall and its various visitor centres can be easily reached, as well as the beautiful and often wonderfully deserted and serene beaches of the county's most breathtaking coastline.

What a gorgeous cottage! It’s super spacious and decorated so nicely. The hot tub and sauna are a great addition to the lovely garden and the location is perfect for getting into the national park or to the coast!

The negatives were in the living room and downstairs toilet it was freezing! We never used this bathroom downstairs because it was so cold! On trying to switch up the living room radiator we later discovered a remote (?related to the heating in the room had no batteries) which may explain this. Realistically it could do with another radiator in that living room for times when the fire is not lit. Logs were damp so a fire took ages to get going so we sadly never attempted the sauna nor jacuzzi! We did purchase some kindling and logs so did eventually get some heat from day 2 onwards. On a positive note the cottage was immaculately clean and the kitchen was beautiful and warm along with upstairs. Mattresses probably need replacing soon (particularly the main one). Correspondence with Sam and Vicky was exceptional and can’t fault this. If the living room and downstairs bathroom issues were addressed then I would recommend this cottage since these were the main reasons we wouldn’t stay again or recommend to others since in winter heat is important and part of the experience.
