If you are considering staying in one of these pods I highly recommend it. They are beautiful, spotlessly clean, cosy and warm in a lovely peaceful spot. The Brown Horse pub also does great food and a lovely breakfast!
We returned home one week ago after a surprise 60th birthday getaway for my husband, wanted to stay longer! The accommodation was immaculate and we had all the essential items for our stay. It is a credit to the owners and we will definitely be coming back to Marina View lodge in the future. The view was amazing .All the staff at White cross Bay were all very helpful and the food delicious. Thank you once again. The perfect location to relax with a good bus service nearby for visiting anywhere around the Lake District.
Potters Lodge was ideal for sharing with friends. Spacious and well equipped accommodation. Close to lots of lovely walks a d places to visit.
Best holiday ever. It was love at first sight. I'm in love with the hot tub. Can't wait for next year to come back, maybe I can book it for New Year or Christmas to come with the family.
A beautiful lodge with everything you could possibly need. Its location is ideal as it is easy to get to Windermere & further afield. Being set on a farm you have the benefit of being surrounded by the beautiful countryside. Would highly recommend staying here.
Lovely lodge, such great value for money too. Close to all the major towns and great walks right on your doorstep which our dog loved
We booked last minute to stay at High Borrans, Percy the Shepherd's Hut and we are so glad we did! A beautiful, cosy place to stay with everything you could possibly need. Perfect location, well designed and a super easy booking process. 100% will be booking again!
This was our third stay at High Borrans and again it didn't disappoint. The lodge was clean, tidy and fully equipped. High Borrans is a very quiet and tranquil place. The location makes it easy to get to places either by car or if you prefer there are paths and walking trails on the doorstep.
Have been to High Borrans on numerous occasions but have not visited for 3 years. Very pleased to find that everything was just as remembered. A wonderful break in a beautiful location. Looking forward to our next stay.
This was our 2nd stay at High Borrans and we will no doubt be back in the future. Lodges are spotless and have everything you need for a week away. There isn’t a huge amount close by although there are a couple of walks on the doorstep but it’s really perfect to get away from it all and not too far from Ambleside and Windermere in the car! Just what we needed.
High Borrans is an idyllic location to enjoy the Lake District but get some peace from the crowds. The lodges are beautifully presented with lots of little touches to make you feel at home. When the weather finally sorted itself out, it was a joy to sit on the deck listening to nothing but birdsong. Highly recommended for a private and perfect getaway.
Had a fantastic time at white cross bay, The only negative thing was could be better lit up on a night when walking back to lodge in the dark, Will definitely be coming back.

We stayed at Dovedale in May 2024 for a weekend while my husband did the Fred Whitton Race. It was our second stay and did not disappoint. We stayed here back in August 2023 and could not fault the lodge. Great spot close to the lake. Spotlessly clean. Lovely welcome pack for grown ups and children. Comfy clean beds. TVs and WiFi great when we wanted to chill out. The lodge is very homely and had everything we needed. We have been coming to White Cross Bay every year since 2016 and this is our favourite lodge. We love this lodge and have stayed here before. It’s very comfortable and homely. The location is excellent. We enjoy the large outdoor decking.
The lodge is lovely, comfortable and was spotlessly clean for our arrival. Located in a quiet part of the park with the bonus of the pub not being far away. The bedrooms were a delight and the lodge has every amenity available that you would require on holiday. My only observation would be the outside area could do with a little TLC but as it rained most of the week we were there it didn't affect us. Excellent customer service from Lakes Cottages and Lodges.
We were very happy with our stay, the lodge was fantastic for us and our dogs, very comfortable and clean and the hot tub was an added bonus, very welcome after a day of walking.
Relaxing retreat in a good location. Pod was cosy, well equipped including items for dogs and decorated to an excellent standard. The Brown Horse Inn serves excellent food and allows dogs in the bar area. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend booking.
We had a lovely break in this lodge for the second time, very clean and comfortable couldn’t wish for a better stay, everything you need for self catering, everyone so friendly, would definitely recommend this lodge
Comfortable accommodation in an excellent location. Only criticism is that the toilet seat needs replacing as it is stained underneath and doesn’t meet the standard of the rest of the apartment.
Our lodge was fabulous, so clean, so roomy and the hot tub was fab.we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, only downside was weather and bibody can control that .
We were a family of 4 adults staying at Badgers rest for a mid week break, and loved our stay there. The location is brilliant, great views, the lodge was clean, beds very comfortable, and kitchen well stocked. Others have commented that the decor is looking tired, and while it is clearly not brand new I find this more relaxing for a rental, and value for money is excellent. The one downside is the park provided free wifi is very patchy and even the paid version was unusable, which is the parks issue. Need to rely on mobile data for connection.
This lodge is in a good position, hot tub great, heating and hot water perfect. The down side, not enough plates or basic utensils in general, but I did get more mugs and water glasses when I requested them on arrival. The bathroom definitely needs redecoration and the whole property looks very tired it doesn’t give a good impression when there is the old stalk of a dead plant rotting in a plant pot on the patio. This property could be great with a bit of a makeover.
