This dog friendly three bedroom holiday Lodge on Limefitt Park offers fabulous views of the Troutbeck valley and superb accommodation for up to 6 guests. Great location and a fantastic holiday retreat in the heart of the Lakes.

We loved Badgers Rest .It was a beautiful lodge in a very quiet position with beautiful views up the valley.It was very spacious and very comfortable bed .We loved seeing all the wildlife through the long windows and enjoyed feeding all the birds and squirrels.We had a very relaxed few days and wished we could have stayed longer .Lots of lovely walks in the area and good pubs .The only negatives was the microwave didn't seem to be working properly and the WiFi wasn't too good .But that wouldn't stop me going back

Badgers rest is a lovely lodge in a gorgeous location. We enjoyed our stay very much and were fortunate enough to see lots of wildlife which made it very special indeed. The only issue we had was the oven, every time we used it despite having the extractor fan on and doors open it set the fire alarm off. Will definitely stay again as the location is stunning

Noting your comment about the oven, a new oven has been fitted and may give off more steam than normal to start with, although it is our understanding that the fire alarm is also located above the oven which, as you are aware, is the cause. We will pass on your comment to the lodge owner and advise they consider moving the fire alarm when carrying out any future works in the lodge. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. We are delighted that you otherwise had a lovely stay and thrilled you will be returning. Indeed the location is stunning and the lodge is a wonderful place to relax and unwind.

We were a family of 4 adults staying at Badgers rest for a mid week break, and loved our stay there. The location is brilliant, great views, the lodge was clean, beds very comfortable, and kitchen well stocked. Others have commented that the decor is looking tired, and while it is clearly not brand new I find this more relaxing for a rental, and value for money is excellent.
The one downside is the park provided free wifi is very patchy and even the paid version was unusable, which is the parks issue. Need to rely on mobile data for connection.

Indeed the wifi is provided by the park and something outside of our control, although it seems it did not detract from an otherwise enjoyable stay and a great time to be had with friends and family. Been coming to badgers rest several times a year for a good few years, firstly we have to say the location is amazing and we see so much wildlife on the field which is our reason for returning to the lodge. The condition of the lodge has deteriorated considerably and is due a full upgrade the sofa is uncomfortable, and along with the curtains and carpet very faded and worn out, we had noticed this time that it hadn’t been hoovered as there was bits all in the Lounge carpet. The kitchen is well equipped, but the cooker is impossible to use, we put pies in the oven on 170 and they come out black after five minutes and set the fire alarm off, it does state in the information leaflet that there is a problem with the oven so in which case it should be replaced as when cooking for six it costs slit to waste food that is black on top and not cooked in the centre. There was a problem with the shower continuously running which I was contacted about a few hours before getting there, again the main bathroom is looking dreary. Outside on the verandah it is lovely ti sit out and link at the views but again the outside needs maintaining as the varnish is peeling and generally looks unmaintained!! On a plus note the beds are very comfy!!

We are pleased to advise that the shower is now fixed and with regard to the oven, we have advised the owner to look into replacing this if necessary. We have also passed on your cleaning comments to the housekeeper responsible and reminded them of their responsibilities. The owners have been made aware of your further comments and suggestions, and we will follow up on all you have said. Please be assured that take all you have said seriously, and we shall be monitoring the lodge more closely over the coming months as Badgers Rest is a great lodge with fantastic views and a popular place to stay.

Ideal for a family. Lovely views across the valley and great as a base for walking.
The site was also good for touring the southern lakes.
The lodge was well laid out , warm and cozy. The bedrooms were spacious and clean and had plenty of storage. In better weather the decking area would also be well suited to small children.
Would definitely book again.

We stayed in the lodge for a few days at new year. The lodge was in a perfect location on the site with lovely large windows overlooking the hills. The beds and bedding were clean and comfortable. Our only complaint would be the cleanliness of the lodge. Othe bathrooms weren’t very clean corners of the bathrooms around the toilet etc. a lot of ornaments and nick naks on surfaces dusty. I feel like the cleaners are not doing a thorough job between visitors which is a shame for the owners of the lovely lodge. Everything else about our stay was perfect. If it was cleaner I would definitely recommend the lodge to others

Lodge was great and as expected, only downside was lodge cleanliness was not great. Floors noticeably dirty in corners and edges, especially in main bathroom and kitchen equipment put back in cupboards poorly washed etc. Just feels like the lodge needs a deep clean and the regular cleaning regime increased/more attention.

It's a lovely place with a stunning view, complete with all amenities to make your stay comfortable and fun. Location is great reasonably close to a lot of attractions. It's a place where you would be happy to come home to after a busy day on the lakes. I highly recommend this place.
The only thing that needs to be fixed is the WiFi as there's no broadband connection and the mobile signal is poor, the only one that works is the O2 network.

Unfortunately the Wi-Fi is the parks Wi-Fi and not direct to the lodge and this does not always prove so reliable. Beautiful lodge in an ideal position on the park. The lodge had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Couldn’t fault the view of the fells and the field area where we saw rabbits,squirrels,sheep and deer. Would 100% return again.
