A lodge with a view, and Wow, what a view. A truly spectacular location on the shores of Lake Windermere and an amazing three bedroom holiday lodge with hot tub. Immaculately presented to accommodate up to 6 guests and a little one. Superb! One small well behaved dog welcome.

This is the fifth time visiting this lodge. It’s in a great location and ideal at this time of year. My grandson loves the hot tub and its position offers privacy for users. The lodge offers a comfortable large space, ideal for families from children to great grandparents. It has the very basic kitchen equipment that is necessary for a weekend. The beds are comfy (though mattress protector and duvet need replacing on one single bed)and the lounge area is spacious enough to move around easily. The decking was slippy due to the rain so extra care is needed as stressed in a sign. We have noticed a slight dip in the finer details of the lodge. A quick clean rather than its usual standards . Kitchen equipment is starting to look a little shabby . However after 5 visits I would still return as it offers what we like and the view from the kitchen door when I am cooking is my favourite and is why I return . Just a few bits to upgrade and it’s perfect for a weekend away .

The lodge offers superb accommodation for a couple, or a family looking for break in the Lake District and the hot tub is a huge bonus along with the lake views. Further to your feedback comments and suggestions for improvement, we take these on board and apologise that there were a few things not quite to your satisfaction. We have spoken to the independent cleaner responsible for the lodge to ensure it is maintained to a high standard at all times and we will check the kitchen equipment and replace accordingly. We loved our stay at Footprints by the Lake - it's right next to the lake so it's dead easy to launch paddle boards, kayaks etc and the hot tub is great for warming up in if you fall in! The lodge itself is really spacious, well equipped and has stunning views. The private WIFI was welcome too as my husband had to do a bit of work whilst we were there. We walked to Brockholes and caught the boat to Ambleside and Bowness, and my kids took part in some of the activities there too. We really enjoyed our holiday and have already booked for next year!

Great lodge in fabulous location. Right next to lake. Good size lodge. Could do with some shelving or somewhere to put toiletries/cosmetics. Had to improvise and use the step ladders.
Kitchen was well equipped. Only down side was fridge smelt funny and door shelf seemed to be too small for milk etc.
Overall though great stay.

The lodge is in a fantastic position in the park and the instructions given after the booking about where to park, use of the jacuzzi, location of the key etc were excellent. The lodge itself is in excellent condition and all the furniture and kitchen equipment were of good quality. Communication with the booking company were very good. We were a family group including a 20 month old child up to an 70 year old and it catered for all our needs.

Wonderful location , plenty of ducklings to keep the children entertained , lodge has the hot tub situated in a lovely private position so your not on display to the rest of the world, slight internet connection issues but nothing to complain about , lodge is well presented and clean , it’s been a pleasure to use shame we couldn’t rebook but it’s full .. would definitely use again .. thank you ☺️

Footprints by the Lake - you know when you just hope and hope that the place you are staying is as lovely as it looks! Well this place was even better than we could have imagined.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and homely. As soon as we arrived we were all just saying 'WOW' over and over. The cabin is right on the lake. We think this is the best cabin on the park. The bedrooms were gorgeous with comfy beds. The bathrooms were lovely and the living area was perfect. The cabin was spotless and they had all the extras of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and even a bottle of Prosecco. The hot tub was superbly clean with a maintenance person attending each day to ensure it was clean and working. We didn't see him, he was very discreet.

We had our dog and the whole park is dog friendly. Everyone we met was lovely and restaurant and entertainment venue was fantastic with amazing staff, all so friendly and helpful.

As soon as we got home we re-booked for next year. We have one holiday each year and we always go the lakes for a few days. We have never stayed anywhere as lovely as this.

Also to mention - the team at Lakes & Cottages were the most lovely and helpful team and I felt as though they really wanted us to have the best holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they responded immediately to any emails.

Overall, it's a fabulous lodge in a great location. Beds were comfortable and the was lodge cosy. We found a few dirty plates and the complementary milks were out of date but nothing major. Park Dean is very dog friendly and are all over the restaurant so keep an open mind about that.

Lodge is in an amazing location close to the lake which is lovely if you sit outside on the fab decking area and just look over towards the lake.

It was lovely to have the complimentary Prosecco that was a nice touch.

Beds are really comfy and spacious especially the one in the main bedroom.

All in all a well looked after comfy perfectly positioned lodge.

We stayed in September and thoroughly enjoyed it . Or party ranged in ages from 7 years to 87 and the lodge was suited to us all. It is in a great location, close to the lake but also allows some privacy especially when using the hot tub . Great hospitality tray which was welcome when we arrived and the lodge was clean and well equipped. This is our 4th stay at this lodge the first with this company . We hope to visit this lodge again.

We will pass your comments over to the owner for his consideration although we are aware due to how the hot tub is positioned and opens it may prove a bit difficult to mount a cantilever parasol. Fabulous stay at Footprints by the Lake. The lodge is really tastefully decorated and has everything you need for your stay. Nice linen, good kitchen facilities, nice touches throughout. Thanks for the Prosecco on arrival.
Loved the hot tub! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to make good use of the large decking due to the weather but it was a great asset to the property.

The one improvement I would suggest would be the inclusion of private wifi. White cross bay’s wasn’t great.

The White cross bay site is just ok but you can choose to be involved with it or not.

I will hopefully have the opportunity to stay here again when the weather is better.

We arrived for a long weekend as a family with a small dog. Lovely surprise to have a bottle of prosecco on arrival too :)
The lodge was modern, comfortable, spacious and is in a stunning location right on the lake. We very much enjoyed sitting on the decking (when the weather allowed), and spent lots of time in the hot tub. The hot tub was very spacious and very relaxing. You have all you need for a relaxing time away. Beds and sofas were very comfy. The only very SLIGHT downside was that the lodge did not look like it had been hoovered. The rest of the lodge was spotless but I had to get the hoover out when we got there as there were bits all over the floor. This did not spoil what was an amazing trip in a stunning lodge though. We will def be back!

Whilst pleased you enjoyed your stay and had a relaxing time, we do note your comments about the cleaning and can only apologise that the hoovering appeared to have been overlooked. We do know that there was a power cut on the park that day which may have caused some issues with the housekeeping team. Nonetheless, this should have been picked up and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused. The cleaning company have been made aware of your comments although we are sure that it was a one off. Footprints by the Lake is a stunning lodge with amazing lake views complete with hot tub.. the perfect holiday retreat. Thank you for letting us know you will be returning, we look forward to you coming!

We really enjoyed our stay. The lodge is beautiful and location is amazing. The beds are comfortable and lodge is very well equipped. We enjoyed the hot tub and eating outside, where there are two different seating areas. I loved a morning cup of tea sat outside looking at the lake.

We booked for a long weekend break.
We was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the beautiful view from outside the lodge (side view of the lake) .
The lodge was clean, modern and comfy, hot tub was clean on arrival and checked daily. Easy access to Ambleside, Bowness-on-Windermere & Windermere itself all within 10 min drive.
A dog friendly clubhouse on site which makes a huge difference.
Fortunately we had some lovely weather & Watching the sunset over the lake in the evening was one of my personal highlights. So peaceful.

Would recommend & stay again!
