SURROUND YOURSELF IN WILD WOODLAND

Bluebell Cabin offers views across the rewilded Brow Wood to the fells surrounding Ullswater.

The bespoke-built cabin is clad using locally sourced larch with an L-shape floor plan that offers a cosy open-plan living space with panoramic views.

The modern interiors have been carefully chosen by Kate combining modern muted tones with rich accents inspired by the landscape surrounding the cabin. Kate has created a tranquil, calming ambience that offers the perfect countryside escape.

The living space has a soft sofa with deep-filled cushions and is accompanied by a modern, well-equipped kitchen, dining area, a proper super-king bedroom and shower room.

Outdoors, a private decked area with seating and a wood-fired hot tub provides the perfect space to take in the views. The eco-friendly cabin is powered by solar panels with underfloor heating and insulation up to the highest of standards to ensure a warm and toasty stay in any season. The cabin combines the convenience of modern amenities with the chance to unwind in nature

Bluebell cabin is perfect for cosy couple’s getaways or Lake District adventure weekends and is dog-friendly.

We had such a fabulous stay at Bluebell over the weekend. Kate and the team were very responsive prior to our arrival and when we arrived there was a welcome hamper with wine, biscuits and other goodies.
The cabin has high quality furnishings including Joseph Joesph utencils and a hot tap for tea/coffee.
We spent a lot of time outside walking/hiking but it felt so cosy coming back to the cabin each day to settle down and relax. The underfloor heating was a dream and we'd definitely recommend this property to explore the northern lakes and surrounding areas. We'll be back, thanks Kate, Alan and the team

Beautiful cabin with stunning views !!
The hot tub took a while to heat up as it was not great weather but when it did it was fab. Location was great to get to Keswick and Ullswater.
Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

My wife and I along with our dog visited BlueBell Cabin for two nights. We were lucky with the weather in March and one of the days was beautiful and sunny.
What we really liked about the cabin was the overall experience of sitting outside in the wood fired hot tub with a glass of wine and taking in the countryside views. We both relaxed and enjoyed the high end feel of the cabin. It was also well positioned in terms of privacy and also access on to the A66 which means Ullswater is so close.
I had a query prior to staying and Mrs Fraser was very quick to get back to me and helpful.
Our little dog absolutely enjoyed looking out on the little terrace and could see us whilst we were in the hot tub which worked well with her being so young.
This is the second time I’ve stayed at these cabins (my wife surprised me with our first stay) and we will definitely return for R&R and just to breathe the lovely Cumbrian fresh air and soak up the views!

We loved our time here - the cabin had everything we needed and more for a comfortable stay, and we definitely could've stayed longer. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved the hot water tap for ease. The underfloor heating warmed the cabin well and even dried all our laid out wet hiking gear! The hot tub did take a few hours of putting wood on/stirring the water to get hot enough for us but luckily we had enough time to do this, as once hot we preferred it to a normal hot tub - found it much more comfortable and relaxing! Also loved the welcome hamper and the robes - made the stay feel luxurious and homely!

Hello Liz, Thank you so much for this fantastic review. We are so happy you preferred the wood-fired hot tub to other ones you’ve tried. It certainly isn’t instantaneous, but getting it going is all part of the fun. We hope you can come back again to enjoy it! All the best, Kate and the team.

Bluebell cottage is lovely and remote just what we wanted, the floor could have been cleaner but everything else was perfect.

We will be returning to enjoy the views, piece and quiet again.

Kate replied 283 days ago
Great to hear you’ll be returning and that you enjoyed the peace and quiet. We always like our guests to have a fabulous time. I would have been happy to come to the cabin to improve the cleanliness of the floor for you, but I assume it wasn’t too much of an issue since you didn’t say anything during your stay. Housekeeping and I separately check the cabins before guests check-in but we obviously missed something this time.[Emoji Removed] All the best, Kate.

Unfortunately it wasn't the luxury experience we had hoped!

My partner and I got engaged on October however, due to torrential storms our celebrations were cut short. We utilised the rest of our finances to celebrate at the Bluebell Cabin. It looked lovely and the reviews were good.
Before arrival we were notified that we would only have logs for one night of our stay, this was not communicated on the website and we felt this was poor, taking into account the cost of the accomodation!
Whilst the accomodation was nicely decorated, it had many marks on walls where care had not been taken by previous guests. There was also red hair in the shower! The bed was hard and the pillows were harder, this lead to a night of unsettled broken sleep.
For luxury accommodation I also found it unusual that there was a charge for extra additions, when other locations had thrived to ensure their guests were welcomed and made to feel special (especially when notified of an engagement/celebration).

Kate replied 348 days ago
We are of course sorry that you didn’t have an enjoyable stay. You did contact me about the pillows and I was happy to swap them for something you preferred. However you didn’t reply to my email. You left on Saturday morning after arriving on Friday. I noticed you didn’t use the logs provided for the hot tub. I note you didn’t think the customer service was very good, I’m very sorry about that. You did ask if we could provide any extras for your partner as a surprise. You said I had responded so quickly that you would have a think and then let me know what you wanted. I never received an email from you. I hope I didn’t miss it. We do try to make our lovely guests as welcome as possible with a welcome pack, luxury robes, Bath House toiletries and hand-written welcome note and a welcome card and at this time of year some Christmas decorations. As you said the reviews we’ve got are fabulous and we have returning guest who simply love it. Unfortunately just not for you. Wishing you all the best and congratulations again on your engagement, Kate.

Had a lovely 3 night stay in Bluebell cabin in September, well equipped and tastefully decorated with the added benefit of a wood fired hot tub that I would definitely recommend trying as the view was fantastic. Excellent value for money and would definitely like to return

We had a lovely week (despite the rain) at Bluebell Cabin. The cabin was well equipped with everything you require to cook evening meals.

The bathroom was lovely and well finished and the cabin was very warm with the under floor heating. Perfect for coming back to after a day on the fells.

We enjoyed many an evening in the hot tub and even managed to star gaze when the clouds disappeared.

Kate replied more than 1 year ago
Thank you for your review,. It must have been lovely being able to do some star-gazing from the hot tub! All the best, Kate and the team.

We booked the cabin for a break with our dogs. Located in a lovely area. Area is set back off the road and gated. Cabin was clean and comfortable and completed to a high standard. Hot tub was lovely and views are great. Lots of other areas to visit near by also. Would stay again

Lovely stay nice view from cabin glad it was hot . Ok for a couple of nights .They could do with a place to hang your coat up and muddy boots also a sweeping brush for the leaves on patio decking .

Kate replied more than 1 year ago
Hello Josie, It’s always good to get feedback. Glad you had a lovely stay. The decking is cleaned every changeover by our fabulous housekeeping team. We do provide cleaning equipment, but there isn’t space for everything that we provide in one of our cottages. The cabins are luxurious but compact. However we always try and make our guests as comfortable as possible. If you’d got in touch, we would have been more than happy to bring you a brush for the duration of your stay. The glamping cabin is designed with muddy boots in mind. The flooring is hardwearing and practical for the underfloor heating too. There’s a hose outside for washing off mud. I’m not sure what you mean when you say it was lucky it was hot. I’ve mentioned the underfloor heating which is controlled by panels on the wall. The cabin is EPC A. All the best, Kate.

We chose this cabin because it was our wedding anniversary, and we just wanted a quiet escape to celebrate it. It was a lovely & clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped. The only thing it didn’t have was a hairdryer which was surprising and I mentioned it the owner through an email she apologised and said it was something to considered for the future. Also another suggestion might be 1 large frying pan as the one provided was small as was the wok.
The next day we were looking for a walking trail and Kate’s dad actually took us straight to the start of the trail & gave us directions, which was very kind.
The hot tub outside was great, but it did take a long time for it to heat up, probably three hours. Once we were in it though, it was luxurious being outside with the trees all around and very private.
I would definitely recommend this for couples. Such a spacious, comfortable well designed cabin.

Kate replied more than 1 year ago
Thank you for your feedback and glad you had a lovely time. Just for any other potential guests reading the review. You can get the hot tub up to temperature in 1-1/2 hours, depending on the ambient temperature. If it is taking 3 hours you haven’t been adding logs quickly enough at the beginning, you need to get it roaring away to start with. I appreciate if you aren’t used to log burners, even with instructions, it’s a learning curve. Many thanks.

Didn't want to come home, amazing!

We had a lovely weekend at Bluebell cabin, beautiful location and accommodation with personal touches on our arrival. Well equipped will everything you can think of and clear instructions. Even though the weather wasn't on our side we still made use of the hot tub, which logs for one day were provided which was a lovely touch. Kate was on hand before and during our stay, a great host. Thank you for a beautiful weekend, we will definitely be recommending the Bluebell cabin and will DEFINITELY be back in the near future.
