My wife and friends of ours have been visiting Aviemore for several years and came across this fabulous house to rent.

We stayed here last year and again this year. It is in the ideal location, close enough to walk into the village but remote enough so there is no traffic noise and lots of wildlife on your doorstep.

The hot tub is brilliant under a cozy canopy so no issues if the wind picks up, and is large enough to cater for up to 8 people .

The kitchen has every conceivable utensil including a laundry room. The linen and towels are all brilliant white and the bathrobes and slippers provided by the house are a lovely touch.

Fantastic holiday accommodation, loved kitchen with dining table and sofa. Spent daytime in there. Night time in big living room. Bedroom were big and beds were really comfy. Hot tub was amazing used morning and evenings. Audra our housekeeper was lovely when I phoned her about a problem I had. This is my 5th great north Lodge looking forward to coming a 6th time.

We are regular visitors to Aviemore and have stayed in a few holiday homes and Bracken House did not disappoint. Great location with a great space for 7 of us and our dog. The hot tub was an added benefit and would recommend to others.

We loved our stay at Bracken. The house it's self was nice and clean. The location was great, quiet estate. Lots of paths near by to walk the dogs. Hot tub was a lovely added bonus.

Had a lovely stay in this lodge with family. It is situated close to town but we never realised it was in a residential street our last lodges in Aviemore were more secluded , however it is a very quiet area. Comfortable lodge with everything you need lots of contact numbers. Central for doing everything and you can walk in town.
Would recommend family to use this lodge it also has a hot tub undercover with was very handy and hard to get in the area . Not disable friendly though as no bathroom down stairs only a toilet . Not a problem for us but maybe for others .
Lovely comfortable home would use again .

We had a lovely week at Bracken House. Have stayed in the street previously at alternative accommodation however chose Bracken because it has the added luxury of the hot tub which was ideal!

Despite an issue with the intruder alarm over the weekend, Great North Lodges rectified the issue as early on the Monday as possible, and communicated throughout which was appreciated.

The property has lots of space, great for the kids and the dog, however would say that it needs a wee bit of a refresh in terms of decorating/carpets, however this wouldn’t put us off staying again.

We had a fantastic week at Bracken House. This was our second visit to this property having previously stayed here with our extended family for my wife’s 50th birthday last October. We adore Aviemore and visit it fairly regularly - we would live there if we could and may end up retiring there! There is so much to do, particularly if you are an outdoors person/family.
Bracken house is a fantastic spacious property comfortably sleeping 8 people. It’s in great condition and have everything you need of a week or more stay. Some very minor negative points it raise are;
The bike shed roof is leaking and is rotten at one side - could do with being fixed. Alternatively give access to the garage - not sure why that’s locked off!
The roof covering the outdoor hot tub shows signs to it also leaking - repairing this would be prudent to preserve the life of it more than it is an issue concerning anyone renting the property.
The hot tub had a deteriorating cover when we arrived, you needed to be a weight lifter to open it and when we opened it the deteriorating internals of the covered ended up floating in the water. Thankfully a few days into our stay someone turned up with a new cover which is a fraction of the weight of the old one and is easier to open.
We also found both showers drains were not taking the water away quick enough and the pipes iare obviously needing cleared before they block completely.
The last negative point I’d make which is probably the least satisfying point about our stay is that both times we have stayed there many of the dishes and cutlery have not been washed properly and we’ve had to clean a lot of it before being able to use it. I think there is a tendency for the clearers to put unclean items in the dishwasher and let it run its course. Both times we’ve arrived to dishes having been left in there and although the dishwasher has been through its cycle some items were not 100% clean.
As I started of saying we did love our time at the property and doubtlessly we will be booking it again I’m sure in the near future.

We have been coming here for 6 years now, always enjoyed our stay unfortunately this time was a bit disappointing, the hot tub lid was broken causing floaters in water. Grass was uncut and long. Toilet seat in main insult was broken, lights on upstairs landing didn’t work. Ceiling in kitchen showing signs water damage cracked plaster. Fridge compartments missing. Have taken pictures on arrival of these areas for proof. No the house is supposed to be cleaned and inspected before next guest so why was the lodge in this state for ud

Great base for the family. Audra who maintains the property was on hand if there was a problem and was very helpful.
We would stay there again.
My constructive criticism would be on cleanliness, the blinds were very dusty and the windows needed cleaning. We also found an half eaten packet of biscuits, old tv remote and a hair comb underneath one of the settees. Also on arrival we found that the dishwasher was full of the last guests dishes so we had to empty that.

We have holidayed in Aviemore 4 times and feel this property has everything . Ideal quiet location with an easy 10 to 15 mins wooded walk into the village . Parking for 3 or 4 cars . All mod cons and a super large covered hot tub which is treated and maintained 3 times in a week . Is there anything to improve the experience - just add nett flicks to the TV and replace the shower light in the main en-suite otherwise I super place to stay and enjoy the brilliance of the Caingorms

We thought this house was great value for money. It was spacious and well equipped. The hot tub was great. The added touch of Christmas tree and decorations was lovely and festive. We enjoyed the complementary robes

The house itself was ok. There wasn’t anything so bad that we needed to call anyone but we did feel it was a bit grubby, it seemed like there was a lack of maintenance. In the surface it looked clean but there were a lot of cobwebs and dead flies. Dust on the tv unit and around the house. There were nice touches like dressing gowns and slippers which were appreciated. We were unable to get a signal to the tv in the kitchen diner and the radio provided was hit and miss for a signal which was a shame as this would have been our main socialising area. Another small annoyance was no tea towels in the house, seems a small thing but definitely could have made a difference. £35 per dog was very steep when you see that dog hair was all over the house, on the chairs, I would presume that this cost would be to make sure it’s cleaned for the next visitors but that was not evident. There was black mould above the en-suite shower which was not very pleasant. We were a party of 8, 6 adults and 2 children. The house is advertised for a maximum of 8 but there is not enough seating in the living room for 8 people which again was an annoyance. As a family we felt that the house looked more like it was used for young groups or maybe a party house. It was ok for a couple of days but I would have not been happy with it for longer than that.

We visit Aviemore regularly and have stayed in a number of holiday homes. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The enclosed garden was enjoyed by our large dog. The added bonus of the hot tub was great! The house is in good condition but would benefit from a bit of decorating and modernising. We had a minor issue with the shower tray filling up but GNL sent over a plumber very quickly to sort out the problem.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was clean and well maintained and the area is safe and very friendly. The dog loved the garden. The rooms and bathrooms are a good size and have builtin wardrobes with hangers. The kitchen is well equipped and a welcome package was provided with Christmas goodies which was lovely. Plenty of towels and some dishwasher tabs and washing pods are provided. I would bring a few extra if there are more than 2 of you!
Mattresses are firm so bring a topper if you prefer softer.
One thing we were not a fan of was someone appearing in the back garden to look at the hot tub. Caught us and the dog unawares a few times. It may be somewhere in the documentation but we hadn't seen it.

We had a lovely time in Aviemore. We have stayed in other properties in High Burnside, Aviemore,with friends and knew we were in a good position to come back with family and enjoy some of the activities.
House was fine - our family were only there fora long weekend and we left on the Thursday. House is in a lovely quiet area.

Enjoyed the perfect location of Bracken House. The house was well maintained and clean. However there was a leak from the washing machine which was quickly looked after by maintenance, well done Audra and her team.
