We all had a terrific time at Muckrach house as it is such a wonderful place. Decoration is fantastic, facilities outstanding and the beds were super comfortable. There were 6 children with us and they didn’t want to leave. All in all, we thoroughly the house.
We had a special week at Drum Cottage. It is located remotely in a truly magical setting. The cottage was spotlessly clean on our arrival, beds are super comfy with crisp fresh linens, and fluffy towels. We saw red squirrels, buzzards, a red kite, and lots of birds in the garden. When we had a small issue, the housekeeper was very prompt to respond and it was resolved quickly which was excellent. I’d highly recommend a stay here, beautiful cottage, glorious setting with incredible views.
Beautiful house and gardens. Great stay with friends. Well equipped, everyone welcoming and peaceful location. Easy communication with the host. Any queries we had were kindly accommodated. Nice to be able to bring our dog to stay. The weather was wet when we were there so the boot room/porch was appreciated. That said we did find many feet make a mess in the kitchen easily. Comfortable beds and cosy property. Sorry - we set the fire alarm off when cooking but great to see people cared and came to look out for us!
We had a lovely stay at Mallard, there is plenty to do in the area and the countryside is just awesome. The grandchildren loved the garden and exploring the woods. The wildlife in the garden was a delight, especially the woodpecker and pine martin. (Also saw a capercaillie on one of my cycle rides) We enjoyed to cycling and trips to Loc Garten for walks and to see the Osprey. Would definitely book again.
We had a lovely stay with my family and dog. The house is spacious and has everything you need and the views over the golf course are fantastic. Also lovely walks nearby for our dog. The only little issue is some of the decking boards need some attention. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property.
Writing to say thank you. We had 15 adults and 16 kids (ages 3 to 10) and found Gulabin Lodge an excellent experience to have such a gathering. The house and grounds provide ample space for games for the children. The kitchen was well stocked. The firepit was a hit and captivated everyone. We were in easy reach of local walks. Nothing was a problem for Helen and Tim and they created a relaxed atmosphere for us to have a wonderful weekend.
This is a beautiful place, and so well equipped with everything you need. We all enjoyed our week celebrating a special birthday with all the family. Perfect to visit Aviemore and plenty for the kids of all ages. Thank you so much.
Great location and perfect place to stay in the Highlands. Spotlessly clean and perfectly decorated. We loved it and can’t wait to come back.
We have recently returned from a very special weekend celebrating a big birthday. Drum lodge is even more beautiful than the photos and although luxurious throughout it still made for a very relaxing family dog friendly stay. All the bedrooms and bathrooms are decorated with opulence so everyone experienced the same standard. The very family friendly area upstairs was ideal for our group and although cabin beds they were also suitable for adults. We didn’t have any issues as such but when we contacted the caretakers they responded straight away and helped us out. Thank you to everyo...more
Really nice 'upside down house' with bedrooms on the ground floor and the living quarters upstairs which means the living room and it's balcony have great views of the forest where we saw red squirrels and lots of birds. You can access the Caledonian forest from the garden and via nearby footpaths. You are right in the woods with crested tits seeable. The house is modern and clean and is fully equipped. The mattresses are very comfortable and the showers are hot and powerful. I would definitely come again.
Ellon Cottage proved even better than the photographs showed. The cottage was spotless, and well equipped. It was a delight to stay here due to its cosiness and warmth.
If you want an away from it all cottage then this one is for you. The peace and quiet with wildlife on your doorstep is perfect. The cottage is cosy and welcoming with cleanliness second to none, already booked our next visit.
We enjoyed our stay very much - a lovely house in a lovely location. The log fire was wonderful when coming back on a chilly evening. We also appreciated the hot tub, plus the lovely seating areas in the garden. When we needed the bathroom sink plug to be fixed it was dealt with very swiftly by friendly maintenance staff. Some small points: Some clear signage directing to the property would be helpful, and the access was a wee bit challenging for the member of our party with mobility issues. The ensuite would benefit from a heated towel rail, indeed any form of heating. A sharp knife in...more
This is the 2nd time staying here and we loved it as we did before. Location and views are excellent. We will definitely stay again.
This is our second stay at this property. A great location with walks from the door. Plenty of space and very comfortable beds and furnishings. Loads of hot water and the wfi was good. The kitchen was well equipped and it's great having two fridges and a washing machine and tumble dryer. We will be back. Thanks
Only issue was that some of the showers were very poor. Some guests had almost no water pressure and others ran warm and cold.
We stayed at Smithy Croft for 7 nights and it was nothing short of amazing! There was 7 adults and 5 kids (from 2 - 7 years old) The lodge set a very high standard from the get go, with a lovely well kept garden and a very spacious drive way, we had 5 cars with us & room for 2 more which you don’t find very often! The lodge itself was very well presented, very clean, organised and equipped with all the amenities you could ask for. Upon entry there is a large cloak room with plenty space for everyone’s multiple shoes and jackets (which is needed for the Scottish weather) as well as room for b...more
Pine Ridge Lodge was just perfect for our needs. Beautiful and comfortable spaces inside and spoilt for choice for sitting out.
This is our second year staying at Balvattan Farmhouse, once again we were not let down, From the booing to the ore departure. I had to call the maintenance team fir an issue that came, the response was very quick and very professional. 5 In our party there's 10 of us, everyone loved the Farmhouse, so much room and everything was to hand, everything you want it is a case of tune up with your suitcase and food, We have no negatives to report back and we will be booking for next year this morning. Can't wait to be back I our Scotland family home. Many thanks to all the team abs...more
We loved our stay here, our second time and have all agreed to make it our annual stay! Fantastic accommodation and location
Fabulous house with everything you would need. Owners were very helpful and lovely to deal with! Would stay again!
We love Glenmore so we knew the location of this property was excellent. The property is spacious and well equipped and was perfect for our group of 7 adults and 1 toddler. Garden, sauna hot tub were fantastic.
Excellent accommodation, and well placed to walk into Aviemore, accommodation has everything you need and is dog friendly, lovely and clean also.
We have just returned from a week stay at Feshiebridge Cottage, the cottage itself was lovely and a fantastic location which was remote enough for peace and quiet but close enough to local towns for provisions and eating out. Lovely walks and cycle paths right on the doorstep. We did have to contact the management company regarding emptying the recycling bins which were overflowing when we arrived. I phoned and left a voice message but still not received a reply a week later, the bins are fuller now. We also had a small issue with showers not draining quickly and a dishwasher fault code but...more
Location good everything in walking distance. Hot tub was lovely and big bonus. Nice and clean place, quiet area. But a bit disappointed, no welcome fire wood/starting kindling. No slippers and only 4 robes. No dishwasher tablets. Outside bins full. Both toilet seats need tightening up. I would expect for £1200 it to be spot on, so think it’s a bit over priced. We still had a good holiday.
Fabulous clean and cosy accomodation Perfect location a few minutes walk from all amenities including shops bus and train. Station
We had a great stay and found the hot tub to be one of the best we have experienced. Loved the birds and squirrels and the walks directly from the door. Couple of minor things that need addressed as part of any upgrade plan, 1. A sign from the main road would be helpful 2. Some of the pans don’t work on the induction hob 3. The sofa needs replaced
We had such an amazing week at Station Cottage. The place is full of character, it was spotlessly clean, comfortable, cosy and filled with everything you could possibly need for a brilliant holiday. The cottage is a 2 minute walk from the centre of Nethy Bridge which is a beautiful village with great walks in almost every direction. Lovely garden, comfy beds, plush pillows, smart TV, great kitchen…just perfect!
Our large extended family stayed for a few peaceful days in beautiful Baddengorm Lodge for my husbands special birthday. The setting was picturesque and very private whilst the house was stunning with wrap around floor to ceiling windows on three sides. A separate games room (including full size snooker table) and bar was great for our one damp day. Everything we needed was provided for our 3 day stay. A really lovely place.
I highly recommend staying at this beautiful place. It was so welcoming and cozy. Everything was well appointed and homey. The drive was challenging because the easy access way of the bridge was closed. Otherwise, everything was wonderful. Thank you!
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding our recent stay at The Neuk (Great North Lodges) from Friday 15th to Monday 18th May 2026. Our party of five, along with two dogs, had been looking forward to this break; however, the condition of the property and the number of issues encountered fell significantly below the standard advertised and expected for the price paid. Despite emailing in advance to confirm that the garden was fully enclosed—a key requirement for travelling with dogs—the attached email from your team confirmed this. On arrival, it was immediately clear that the gard...more
Beautiful log cabin with great living space and log burner, and location down a track in it's own woodland over looking the River Spey. Loved it, will look forward to staying again.
Five minutes' walk from Aviemore Station and with the river Spey immediately beyond the back garden, Spey Cottage proved perfect for our stay. Good social spaces for seven people to gather, comfortable bedrooms and the garden for when people wanted to be on their own. Very well-appointed kitchen, nice bathrooms with plenty of hot water, bedlinen and towels were excellent quality. Lovely east-facing decked area at the back. Apart from the occasional train pulling into the station, very quiet. Would definitely book again.
We booked our stay as a treat for our honeymoon with our two young kids. Unfortunately due to a storm we were left with no electricity. While we understand that this is out with the control of the owners the running water is pumped by an electric pump and it meant that for the first nearly 24 hours we had no running water as well as electricity and as had to vacate the property for an entire day. When we reached out regarding this we feel we have been let down with no adequate resolution and ourselves out of pocket. As a result we would not recommend this property
We had a fantastic week at Langrick. The house was comfortable and well equipped. Plenty of room for our large party. Lots of seating inside and out and places to relax. The location was perfect and in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed watching wildlife and being so close to the forest. Watching bats from the conservatory every night was a highlight. Would recommend and stay again.
Perfect house for a family getaway. Location was great with easy access to dog walking and biking trails. House was well presented, very comfortable, clean and well equipped. We enjoyed having the hot tub and that the garden was not overlooked and it was secure for the dogs. Well all loved it. Great location for exploring the surrounding area. Only minor negative was the BBQ. It was too small to cook for 8 people and very shallow to get enough coals into it to cook for a house full. We abandoned our plans and cooked inside.
Our 4th stay at this perfect property for 2. There is every thing you could need and more and it’s the perfect location for exploring the Cairngorms. This year we got to enjoy the beautiful garden in the sunshine too. We will return again next year!
Black Grouse is great accommodation for families, with plenty of social spaces and lovely bedrooms with en-suites. The hot tub and garden have fantastic views of the Cairngorms and are private. We are returning customers and have booked again as we really enjoy our time here. A couple of improvements that would make the experience even better would be a bigger fridge freezer and a smart tv in the lounge.
From start to finish we had a wonderful time. The lodge was homely and comfy with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Great location.
When we arrived where we parked our car had poo from an animal everywhere it was difficult to not stand in and we cleaned this up ourselves. The lodge overall is lovely and cosy, perfect for our getaway and great north lodges were so accommodating when we needed to change our dates due to medical reasons. Apart from the outside it was clean and welcoming. During our stay someone did come over to check the hot tub levels and these facilities were easy to use with instructions provided. Other appliances such as the hob and Cooker were unnecessarily complex to operate and the instructions w...more
Nice lodge but we had some issues with hot water, and one of the beds had a mattress that smelled really bad. Cleanliness was okay but lots of dust under the beds. Hopefully a one-off as we have rented cottages with Great North Lodges before without any issue.
Facilities are good, location great for variety of activities. Good hot tub and sauna. However, the Double room at the front of the house had hair in the bed, mixed into the duvet and on the pillows. It looked like cat or dog hair and the bed hadn't been changed. The rug in the living room was hazardous and needs to be stuck down. The house in general was tired with the walls needing a touch up of paint, the conservatory was green with damp and the walls had cobwebs. The wooden floor boards were also separating which was a trip hazard and the lack of mats in the house for wet shoes...more
