This recently refurbished detached timber cottage with an enclosed garden is situated in a secluded location behind Suidhe Lodge and is accessed from the car park by a short path. This cottage has a well-equipped kitchen/dining area that leads through to a sitting area with a wood burning stove.

There are three bedrooms consisting of two king size double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and the other with a bunk room off.

A private area lies to the front complete with a hot tub, BBQ and seating area, with additional garden surrounding.

Note: Suidhe Garden Cottage is in the same grounds as Suidhe Lodge, together they sleep 24. They have to be booked separately.

Pleasant enough stay but wouldn’t rush back.

Property was nicely located and interior layout was good but towels left for us were stained, hot water only came on once a day meaning there was little to no hot water left after breakfast dishes had been washed, also meant by the evening you were washing your hands in cold water which was less than ideal. No control over the heating meant bedrooms were often cold at night by the time people were going to bed. Dishes were all poorly washed and had to be re-cleaned before use upon arrival. As well as only half the oven being functional which we weren’t warned about before arrival.
Also disappointed to find that not only was departure earlier than most other self catering properties in the area but we had to strip beds and remove all rubbish from the property which included a trip to the local community centre to dispose of glass waste. Property itself was nicely maintained and furnished but the large list of rules and stipulations accompanied by the lack of control over basic amenities like hot water, heating and adequate access to firewood/kindling left some to be desired unfortunately.

Hi Holli, we have passed your comments to the owners who have been to the cottage and checked it and they have sent the following response. "We can only apologise if some of the towels were stained, they are checked by both the housekeeper and the laundry and we will reinforce that message so this does not happen again. The hot water control has a boost function that you can generate more hot water on demand. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen, not sure if they missed that. The heating is remotely controlled and if they were cold we do ask that they phone us and we can increase the temperature for them. The oven was working fine when I checked it yesterday. There is an additional dial for the upper oven that allows you to select the function of oven, grill or warming oven before dialling in the temperature. Just turning the temperature dial for the top oven will mean that it does not work. As you are aware we carried out a significant refurbishment of the property earlier this year and we are constantly investing in trying to improve the property and will learn from this. I take heart that the vast majority of our guests understand that with the great reaction and 4 and 5 star reviews that we generally get" In terms of the departure time, this is a standard time for the vast majority of properties in the area and a standard time across our entire portfolio. It is well signposted at the time of booking, on every email that you have received from us and if you needed a later check out time that could have been requested. Just be aware that in many cases the next guests are arriving at 4.00pm on the date of your departure and the housekeeping team needs adequate time to turn the property round. I am afraid the long list of rules and regulations are in part foisted on us by the Short Term Let Licencing Regulations. We will look again at these and see if they can be reduced but there is nothing in there that prevents you from enjoying the cottage and the area behaving normally.

My husband, daughter and I spent lovely week at Suidhe Garden Cottage which was just perfect. The cottage was beautiful in a lovely enclosed secluded garden ideal for our dog. The hot tub was amazing and bbq used most evenings. The lovely log fire was very cosy on chilly evenings and all the facilities in the cottage great. The location was perfect, peaceful but very near loch Insh where we enjoyed lots of activities. Can’t wait to return and would definitely recommend it.

The cottage has everything you need and more. All rooms fully equipped and nothing wasn’t thought of.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, especially with the added bonus of the bar next door. Will definitely return for another stay.

Great stay for a family holiday. It’s lovely and cosy (love the log burner) but plenty of space and perfect layout for little kids. Lovely outdoor space which feels very tranquil and great size garden if you needed for a dog. The new kitchen has everything you need and the new bathrooms were lovely. Location is perfect if you fancy getting out for beautiful walks/hikes/cycles and plenty of lochs nearby. If you’d like an extra luxury too there’s a new loch side sauna at Loch An Eilein.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Suidhe Garden Cottage! It was clean and cosy. We got all informations we needed.
It was very clean. Lots of fresh towels. Special towels were provided for the hot tub, which was great after lonng walks.
The beds were comfortable.
The kitchen was well equipped. And there IS a washing machine.
We loved the fire log. There were enough logs provided to make a cosy evening.

We loved to go to the nearby Suie Bar.
Monday is Folkmusic night. On Thursday you can get great and fresh prepared sourdough pizza directly in front of the pub.

The Old Postoffice Cafe Gallery is worth a visit. Greatest Italian food and amazing cakes. Wonderful pieces of Anne Vastanos Art.

Loch Insh is nearby. Lots of water sport possibilities.

Nice walks nearby.

The locals are warm and open to foreigners.

Superb stay in wonderful cottage
Was pretty cold for June so we had to have a fire most nights and the hot tub was great.

Would recommend owner checks door lock as it’s needing adjusted other than that amazing.

Will be back

Lovely stay in a lovely location, just a couple of little touches would have made it perfect.

Cleanliness was let down with a soiled toiled which had been left i presume from previous users.
Was cold, radiators didn't stay on long enough, however log burner was a god send

Very friendly, especially in the Suid bar which is close by.

Hi, Sorry about the towel and we will ensure this does not happen again. The owner has increased the daily, evening and over night temperature of the heating system to ensure the property stays above 18 degrees at all times.

Stayed here with a friend for the weekend. Great location, close to Aviemore with buses available regularly. The facilities were excellent with a hot tub and a log burner with good instructions on how to use. The area is perfect for walks and Aviemore has some lovely pubs and cafes.

We enjoyed our stay however having only 1 bathroom with 4 adults was a little challenging at times. The cottage is lovely with lots of windows and it gives you the feeling of living in the forest. We found the garden a little challenging for dogs because although the owners had definitely tried to enclose the garden, our dog (a cockapoo)managed to get into a neighbouring garden twice. We had a wonderful week though and the Highland Wildlife Centre was a real high.

The cottage had everything we needed for our week. The garden had the sun most of the day so was nice to sit out in relative seclusion. The hot tub was great. The kitchen had everything we needed for all our meals and the wood burning stove made it very cosy in the evening. The WiFi was very good. The location was great for walks off road to Loch Insh especially for our springer spaniel. There are also great places to launch your paddle board. The village cafe is great for lunch

The living room was a warm and comfortable space - great for relaxing in at the end of the day.
The single bathroom was a bit of a struggle (3 daughters) but we managed.
The kitchen / dining area is where we spent most of our time and it was spacious but a bit disjointed in kitchen cupboard and utilities layout.
The hot tub was brilliant.
The external space was fully enclosed so great for the dog to freely wander round.
Paths away from the cottage lead straight to Kincraig and beyond with lovely walks a plenty from your doorstep.

The absolute pro’s were the cleanliness, location and the new owners were so lovely and welcoming.
The beds were super comfy too.
We stayed as a family of four (with two teenage boys). Loads to do in the area for them! Our top activities; Loch Insh water day and the zip trek at G2 which are so close. Our boys spent an hour most nights using the football pitch across the road.
Also recommend the Escape Room in Aviemore for a really very wet afternoon.
Highland Folk museum *free to visit* (they ask for a donation) of which part of the site was used as a film location for Outlander.
With there being so many activities, and having teenagers, a washing machine would have been really useful as ended up doing a bit of hand washing… but not a deal breaker.
You walk around the back of the lodge (next door) to get access to the property (which might feel a little odd to those not from Scotland, with the ‘right to roam’ laws) but it’s not an issue as next door have another separate access path (not to the cottage) which people use.
Kincraig is pretty to walk around (walked to the end of Dunachton Road, through path down to the loch and round to the Old Post Office cafe (for tasty cake!)). Cycled to Loch an Eilean, which was gorgeous and worth the effort.
The hot tub is a major plus too and great to come back and relax in.
Everyone we spoke to in our two week stay were so welcoming and we loved visiting the area.
