Brilliant stay. Really enjoyed both the house and the location with breathtaking views from every window. Would and will 100% be back.
Beautiful cottage renovated to a high standard. Very comfortable and lots of space - we will be recommending it to friends and family. Grounds very well kept.
My family stayed in Cairngorm Cottage over New Year this year. It is simply stunning. The small details all around the house are just perfect and the location is breathtaking.
Second time staying at Forest Trail Lodge and just as good as before. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable, cosy and in a great location for easy access to forest walks with a large secure garden for the dog to enjoy.
The property was a great size, great facilities and very clean> the locations excellent for acmes to Aviemore's shops bars and restaurants. You can also walk or cycle from the property with acmes to its of trails and walks. Overall a great property.
Excellent in every way. Perfect location and very peaceful. Everything you need is there and of good quality. We will definitely return.
Had a fantastic stay at Heather Cottage. Property was very clean and the Christmas decorations added the perfect touch to our stay. This property has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and perfect for all weathers. Especially impressed with entertainment package offered - SkyTv and Netflix. Kitchen had all the amenities needed to make great home cooked meals. Location a little further from centre than we normally stay but very close to local shops and only 20 min walk to centre of Aviemore. Would have preferred hot tub closer to door as we were staying in winter. All in all a g...more
Excellent location and facilities. There were two of us ( +2 dogs) which was fine. Maybe 4 people would be ok but more than that would be a
Had New year in aviemore, perfect location , comfy cosy cottage , amazing family kitchen where we had a fabulous New yrs day steak pie , will definitely go back to Spey cottage , great for couples or two family’s .
Stayed here a few times. Love the location and the hot tub is great after a day out. If you are into bird watching, this is the house for you. Lots of red squirrels too. I needed some help while staying there and the assistance was first class. There is WiFi but no smart tv.
No expense spared on comfort, facilities and cleanliness. Wonderful location for dog owners. Appreciated the safe and secure garden.
Once inside the property it is lovely and well kept! Had everything we needed for our stay! One of the beds wasn’t the most comfiest but I wouldn’t say it was a big problem! When you have a big family and need somewhere to suit this was perfect! Would definitely book again!
A beautiful high spec a holiday let, with those added luxuries inside and out . Location was spot on for us for skiing, walks, Loch Morlich the Pine Martin bar & Aviemore. This property has everything you require for an all year round stay, plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms and it's ideal for dogs too. We loved it
The absolute pro’s were the cleanliness, location and the new owners were so lovely and welcoming. The beds were super comfy too. We stayed as a family of four (with two teenage boys). Loads to do in the area for them! Our top activities; Loch Insh water day and the zip trek at G2 which are so close. Our boys spent an hour most nights using the football pitch across the road. Also recommend the Escape Room in Aviemore for a really very wet afternoon. Highland Folk museum *free to visit* (they ask for a donation) of which part of the site was used as a film location for Outlander. With...more
Great house, bathrooms immaculate, kitchen great (everything you need provided, can even bake cakes!) Wi-Fi works very well. Hot tub great, garden perfect for dogs and secure, great access for walks and trails. Lovely gifts of wine and chocolate left for arrival. And then there’s the bar attached to the front, easiest walk home ever after a couple pints. Would definitely stay again, 9.9/10. Nothing is perfect but this comes close
Twa Hoots is a great spot for a short stay in Aviemore. Ideally located to Aviemore town and other activity centres within easy walking distances. It is compact accommodation and will fit a family of 4 fine. It is clean and in good order, although the steps to the deck could do with being replaced as they feel as if they are about to rot out.
A perfect lodge for those who know the area well and are looking for somewhere that is a little different to give some peace and quiet. While Croft Kincardine is close enough to everything that it is a short driver away, you do need to drive to go anywhere. A beautiful log cabin that is comfortable and spacious even when full with guests (there was 7 in my party but more than enough room for everyone). When going to bed or taking the dog out for the last walk of the night make sure you have a head torch as it is pitch black but the skies were clear to give some great views of the stars. Fin...more
I booked this as a surprise for my husbands 50th birthday. To say he was wowed is not an understatement. The fact that we had the room for friends stay with us for the weekend made it all the more special. Plenty of space for us, our friends and the dogs. The only down side I would say is that the power kept shorting out. So several mornings when we got up there was no power- which meant no heat. The first day the help number advised me to look for the main electricity board which did show a tripped fuse. When it happened the next day and the following day we know which fuse to reset. When the...more
We had a fantastic stay at the Balvattan Farmhouse over the New Year period. The house was well equipped, spacious and also in a beautiful location looking over the Cairngorm Mountains. Owners were very communicative and always on hand to help whenever necessary. We had no complaints. A lovely few days and we will definitely be returning soon.
Have booked many times with Great North Lodges and have never been disappointed! The houses are very well equipped and warm and welcoming! GNL staff are extremely friendly and helpful if required. I highly rate GNL and look forward to staying at a Lodge through their website in the near future!
I would definitely recommend this lodge for comfort and space. The lodge had everything. I always travel with my coffee machine but I didn’t need to as there was one there and even some coffee pods. Couldn’t have asked for a better replacement to the lodge we initially booked. This one was even better. Best of all was the garden as we were going with dogs and they loved it and to top it off the wood walk just out of the back gate was fantastic. The run was a bit of needle in a haystack, hopefully we got them all.
Fabulous accommodation, so peaceful yet still close to all amenities. Very comfortable with everything we needed and more. Loved the log fire and hot tub. Would definitely recommend
The cottage is lovely and the photos on the website don’t really do it justice. Fixtures and fittings generally high quality and loads of space for our group of 6. Couple of minor issues - showers really don’t drain properly. We mentioned this to the maintenance company, but were advised it was because of the septic tank. Also, parking for 3 cars is very tight and the drive entrance quite tricky. However, these were manageable and we had a fantastic time.
The Neuk It kind of gives you a good feeling when you arrive, I can’t fault it, the grandchildren love it, the hot tub is an added benefit. It’s ideally placed for all the activities water sports, quad bike treks, distilleries especially the Gin distillery such a friendly place. We can’t wait to return
My husband and I stayed at the red Fox Lodge with our 5 and 7 year old. We had a wonderful time, enjoyed the bbq hut for marshmallows and hot chocolates and the hot tub. The lodge was in a great location and we were able to travel and explore the local area well
We visit Aviemore regularly and have stayed in a number of holiday homes. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The enclosed garden was enjoyed by our large dog. The added bonus of the hot tub was great! The house is in good condition but would benefit from a bit of decorating and modernising. We had a minor issue with the shower tray filling up but GNL sent over a plumber very quickly to sort out the problem.
Four Pines is a fabulous house in a beautiful location. The house is warm, comfortable and well equipped. The garden is lovely. Loads of room amongst the trees. Huge windows on 3 sides of the living room provide so much light and fantastic outlook. It would be a good idea to update the information books as there's some contradictory information and instructions. Lovely walks from the house. All in all I would highly recommend a holiday here.
One suggestion: Please consider a grit/road salt bin, perhaps communal, for the properties up this off-road track. As we had much snow on Hogmanay, I could not get my car back up to the house after a day out. Had to borrow snow socks. I have now got a pair, but most people will not! Noticed that the council scheme opposite has grit, why not here?
Fantastic Lodge in a fantastic setting. Surpassed my expectations and will definitely be returning.
we enjoyed our stay very much in wolf lodge the lodge was clean and tidy apart from the blanket on the sofa which was covered in dog hair and lichen, the hot tub and sauna were excellent, and the surroundings beautiful. I was a little disappointed there was no welcome pack as we so enjoyed the one in beaver creek lodge but no worries. The only problem we had was the dog mess belonging to the neighbours not your fault but unpleasant there were thirty or so bags on the other bank and some not bagged on our drive which my husband trod in twice! also a carrier bag at the end of the drive filled wi...more
