The Hay Barn is just the perfect property for a stay. We received such a fabulous welcome on arrival and as it had been such a warm day it was great to see that extra little bit of detail that the curtains had been kept closed so we entered to a lovely cool building. It’s also great you can abandon your car on arrival as Uppingham is in walking distance and it’s so much nicer to explore on foot I think. Thank you for a lovely few days in Ayston, we were in Rutland for my son’s wedding and had the most wonderful time.
We booked the Old Stables at Castle Chase because we were looking for somewhere fully accessible for my parents, who are in their 90s and with numerous challenges around mobility. Not only did it surpass what we could have hoped for from that point of view, but it is a beautiful conversion in a marvellous location, and the support from staff in terms of information about the area and making sure we had what we'd need when we arrived, could not have been better.
A very comfortable and spacious all on the ground floor .. ideal for the less mobile. Great views and friendly cows, pheasants, rabbits etc!
