We went as a group of 6 so were looking for 3 beds & 3 bathrooms. Seahorse is a lovely lodge facing the meadow at the front of the property with two parking spaces, it has plenty of different outside seating areas with furniture, the kitchen/dining room/lounge is one big area so plenty of seating in the lounge area for all 6 of us plus the dining room too, so great for morning/evenings if weather not nice to sit out. There is a king and double size bedroom with walk-in shower plus another bedroom with two single beds which has a bath and hand held shower unless you are very small but we felt that was the only compromise. The lodge was well equipped with extras like salt/pepper, washing pods, soap, we will definitely be back and can highly recommend

Thanks for taking the time to review, and sounds like you enjoyed your stay. I think the shower in the bathroom is designed for washing hair whilst in the bath but appreciate it's not ideal for a stand-up shower!

We had a short break here in April 2025. The lodge is exceptional in many ways and is positioned to give clear views over parkland with decking areas at the front and rear which catch the sun most of the day. It's only a short walk to the centre and the pool and bar. The pool is great, clean with plenty of space for changing, there's also a steam room and sauna. It's also only a short walk down to the beach which is stunning, a wide bay with miles of sand
The lodge is well kitted out with everything you need to cater for six people, there are books and games, the beds are very comfortable and the bedding is good quality. We had the best time, so relaxing, just wish we'd had longer!

We stayed at the Seahorse Lodge at the end of February 2025 , the lodge was fantastic, very clean and warm for our arrival. The lodge catered for all our needs with a perfect layout to contain the dogs away from the bedrooms. I cannot compliment it enough. The site facilities , pub and leisure facilities were great , the kids really enjoyed the pool.

We visited Seahorse Lodge for a short say over October half term (it wasn't long enough in this amazing lodge).

I would love this lodge as my home. It had everything you could ask for; the kitchen was so well equipped and spotlessly clean. It was lovely and warm, so warm we never even used the lovely log burner (logs and firelighters left for us too). The only other item I would've asked for was an air-fryer as I'm so used to one now, but that's just personal to me.

There were games, books and even a set of kiddies toys for the bath.

Dogs were also well catered for with bowls and treats.

The lodge itself was fantastic, a lovely open plan lounge and diner with bi-folding doors onto a fabulous decking area with more than ample seating. And another decking and lounger accessed by one of bedrooms and backdoor.

3 spacious bedrooms all with on-suite. The first bathroom had jack and jill doors so you could use and access the first bathroom without going into the bedrooms.

My only suggestion would be for the decking to be made secure so the dog didn't need to be on a lead if we were outside.

Paula was an amazing host and so incredibly helpful.

I can't wait to go back to this and/or one of their other gorgeous properties at the The Bay.

This is our second stay at the The Bay, Filey. Both times booked through Filey Bay Direct (last year we stayed at Prospect lodge)!
The lodge was clean, spacious, in a brilliant location and had everything we needed. Paula's communication is 5*! She made sure we had everything we needed and knew everything we needed to know before our visit.
I, 100%, recommend both this lodge and Filey Bay Direct.... We will be back ❤️

Lovely weekend.

Wasn’t as clean as other lodges we’d stayed in and beds weren’t as comfortable, but still a very pleasant stay.

This was our second stay at Seahorse Lodge and would definitely recommend it to other families. The view from the lodge is fabulous and great for dog walking. Everything is provided making a great start to a memorable stay. The additional door, from the living area to the bedrooms, is a great boost. The cleanliness and comfort absolutely first class. One small suggestion for the future, maybe to consider the fencing round the verandah, as dogs are permitted to stay but can easily run off. Also a mention for the booking system which ran like clockwork. Thanks for a great holiday.

Four generations of our family had a wonderful stay at Seahorse Lodge. It was equally perfect for my 91 year old mum and 7 year old grand daughter. The layout is perfect, with bright rooms, comfy beds, sofas, cushions & throws & crisp cotton bedding. The kitchen is excellently equipped and we enjoyed meals indoors and outdoors with the wonderful indoor & outdoor furniture. The location is perfect - 10mins from the beach and looking out over a wonderful nature reserve. Highly recommended.

Sea Horse Lodge was spacious and comfortable with well considered furnishing and decor. Wardrobe/clothes space in bed two and three was limited, but super in the main bedroom.
Outside there was ample seating which was comfortable thanks to the owners who entrusted us to use cushions and return them to the store room each evening. The day bed which caught the evening sunshine was very much enjoyed.
The property was described as new, but it didn't feel pristine. I worry for the owners that the grout around the showers needs some attention as a faint damp odour points to some water gaining access to behind the base and tiles perhaps.
The Lodge was warm, the appliances were good quality, worked perfectly and were easy to use. Lovely to watch the wildlife in the area.
In terms of the resort, this was our fourth visit. We've yet to find the four cats pizza shop open, even this time in July. Clearly its a great location or we wouldn't have come back, given The Bay is typically at the top of our budget. I hope the prices don't rise any further or it will limit availability to most.

Excellent cottage and holiday.
But I feel that a door between the kitchen/lounge and the passage/bedrooms would be a bonus.
This is because of sound issues.
Being in the far bedroom with the door closed, I could hear the kettle and water being run.
Another sad thing was the evidence of dog hairs on the settee and carpet.

The lodge facilities are perfect for a holiday on the East coast - have not found anything better (although that mirror still gets some getting used to). The size of the lodge is much more than comfortable for the five of us and two dogs and the views are priceless. The Bay continues to be maintained to the highest standards and the walks and the beaches in the area are outstanding. Plenty of beautiful, different places to explore locally and along the coast - even after six consecutive years at the Bay!

This was our second visit to Seahorse lodge. I had forgotten how lovey it is. Definitely has the wow factor when you first enter. We had our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren with us for part of the week.
What an amazing property this is. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Everything we needed was provided. Very spacious with wonderful views overlooking the meadows. We really enjoyed the homely feeling of returning after a day out. Can’t wait to return again.

Staying at Seahorse lodge for Christmas time was just wonderful. We were greeted with all the comfort and joy you need for a special relaxing time. Seahorse lodge was full of little touches that made our stay just perfect, even a Christmas tree! We have stayed at The Bay many times, but the location of this lodge is the best yet. It is quiet and the view across the meadow is delightful as the sun comes up and goes down. The opened plan living space is lovely, enabling everyone to be together while chilling. We will definitely be back. The site itself has all the amenities you need: a shop, a pub and a swimming pool, although the leisure complex is looking a little tired! The best thing for me is access to the gorgeous beach, miles of open space to walk and take in the glorious power of the sea. Thank you Seahorse for a lovely stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seahorse Lodge and would definitely recommend to everyone. The whole system of booking ran like clockwork. The only matter to raise was the links on the emails for extra information didn't seem to work. The position of accommodation was perfect and the little extras left were a lovely touch on arrival. Just found the welcome letter in a drawer 3 days in to our stay, maybe leave it out on a table, but apart from that we are looking to book for next year.

The Lodge is perfect. Great location, great condition. And very well equipped with everything you would need.

The only additional requirement is to have more towels as there wasn't enough for one each per person.

This is the third year we have stayed at the Lodge with our grandsons and family.
Extremely well equipped with everything you need. Excellent clear views over the flower meadows.
Unfortunately the weather not very good this year and we were unable to take advantage of the excellent outdoor seating for relaxation and eating.
Great to have en suite facilities attached to each of the bedrooms. Well equipped with books, games and DVDs to entertain everyone on a wet day!!
Swimming pool used on a regular basis to keep the boys happy.
Close to Filey - great walk along the wonderful beach.
Despite the weather a good time was had by everyone.

Enjoyed one week in Seahorse Lodge with family. Although the weather was mixed (!) we had a great time. The Lodge was spacious, well equipped and in lovely condition. The views across the meadow were exceptional. The facilities on site (especially the Pool) made for a great holiday. And Filey Bay beach is one of the best. Would recommend and happily return.

Another perfect stay on The Bay, this is our second stay at Seahorse lodge and we didn’t want our holiday to end, the lodge is so comfortable and in a fabulous location. We had great weather which was a bonus. The John Paul jones pub is great with lovely food and the staff are so friendly and helpful . Thank you Paula as always for arranging our holiday at The Bay . The accommodation is excellent: spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with everything in good condition. The locations of the lodge and of The Bay resort, are outstanding: miles and miles of wonderful, dog-friendly beaches, and cliff top and meadowland walks; plenty of traditional, welcoming seaside resorts within easy reach; very good on site facilities and staff; and wonderful panoramic views from every angle.

Excellent location and well equipped lodge. Had everything we needed for our stay. Our family joined us for a special birthday celebration weekend and we all had a great time. Beds were comfy and the location was quiet. The kitchen was well equipped and the living area was spacious and the tv and games provided lots of entertainment The pool, pub and other facilities were great and the staff were very friendly
Just a few small negatives:-
The bbq was useless!
The road to the facilities was very dirty and messed up our shoes and cars
The cleaners were meagre in terms of what they left. No spare bin bags and only one tea towel

Thanks for your lovely review of the lodge. Sorry you struggled with the BBQ - they're standard construction so not sure what the issue was. There is also the option to use a disposable on top of the rack. As mentioned in your other review, we are hoping for an update soon on the road surface work. I would have arranged more supplies if you had let me know too as we have an onsite team who can drop things off.

We have just returned from an amazing 3 night stay at The Seahorse Lodge. Firstly the Lodge is very spacious even though we are a family of six we never felt in each others way. The Lodge is very well equipped with everything you need, very comfortable also it was spotlessly clean. The location is perfect with views over the meadow and easy walking distance to the amenities. The beach is a short walk away, there is a steep hill coming back but well worth it.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful lodge. Spotlessly clean, really well equipped and very cosy. It is the perfect distance from amenities and the beach, far enough away to be quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to everything. Thanks to Paula for sorting out our very last minute booking. We had a fabulous time and will definitely be back.
