Wonderfully equipped and comfortable beach lodge in superb location. Love the two bedroom two bathroom set up - works well for couples. The main kitchen, dining area and lounge is a warm sociable space - great for chilly evenings. Owner has made this home from home with everything you can possibly want or need! From condiments to shampoo, from books and games to dishwasher tablets…. Would highly recommend and will be returning soon!

This was our second stay at Skylark. The property so is light, spacious and the beds very comfortable! The property is set back a little from the (very quiet) road which makes it feel fairly private. The kitchen is well equipped with an excellent dishwasher and large fridge freezer. Only things we missed were extra teaspoons and a whisk! The bathrooms are also great, but the shower would benefit from a handrail for safety, as there is nothing to hold onto other than the side of the shower screen. There are plenty of storage options in the bedrooms and loads of toys/games and jigsaws for children and adults. The host, Paula, is very accommodating and easily contactable if needed with nothing too much trouble. A great find.

We had a lovely stay at Skylark. It was like a home from home with all you needed and with an added level of luxury. It was clean, spacious, light and airy with lots of outdoor seating. Having stayed at The Bay a few times, this was by far the best accommodation particularly as there were a couple of little ones who could enjoy the space. I am sure we will be back.

We stayed in Skylark Beach House for 2 nights in June 2025.

The communication with Filey Bay Direct during booking and pre arrival was faultless.

The accomodation is incredible. Top notch! Clean (I mean spotless), beautifully decorated and furnished, amazing outdoor areas and just lovely little touches like fans, kids games, beach stuff even dog toys for dog lovers.

Love it. Will be back!!!!

Wow!! What a fantastic stay we have just had at the Skylark for 10 nights. The position is really good, just far enough away from the amenities so you don't hear anything, but close enough to use them. We took 2 dogs and the side/rear of the property is really good to let them have a bit of a mooch before bedtime. The place has everything you need, and stuff you didn't know you need. Plenty of books, games, jigsaws, plenty of utensils, and everything was spotlessly clean. The beds are REALLY comfy, the showers are amazing. We've stayed at a few properties in The Bay and this is definitely in the top two, I'd even go as far to say joint first. Paula has been absolutely brilliant every time we have booked and we would highly recommend booking direct with her.5+ ⭐

Skylark is such a charming beach chalet. The sea side decor is lovely throughout the chalet. The chalet has plenty of books, games and beach equipment too. Outside pace is private and there are chairs out front and out the back to catch morning and afternoon sunshine (if you're lucky!).

Love the size of Skylark. So much room. Great position. Sat out on the back decking in the afternoon evening sun. Had everything you needed and more. Plenty of room in the oven for cooking nice meals then sat around the spacious table to eat before chilling out on the sofa. We all had a great time. Location is great too. Love coming here. Walk along the beach to Filey is so nice and relaxing

Skylark is a really lovely lodge with everything & more, you could possibly want for a holiday stay. The quality of the furnishings & facilities are excellent. We were blessed with very good weather allowing us to make full use of the front & rear patios, great for morning coffee/breakfast & evening drinks/meals. The location on the site & to the beach is brilliant. Paula as host provided a very prompt & helpful service. We will definitely be booking again.

We had the most fantastic week in Skylark. Very beautiful, spacious and spotless beach house - we absolutely loved it. The decor and furniture are just perfect, beds were very comfortable and an en-suite for both bedrooms (master bedroom en-suite is stunning!). There is everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, including a washer dryer, so no need to be worrying about running out of clean towels.
I would highly recommend looking in all the drawers and storage areas when you arrive. On day 3 we found binoculars and on day 4 found the DVD's (some absolute classics there that are not showing on Netflix or Disney Plus). We forgot to bring Uno and a pack of cards, and lo and behold - they're right there in the coffee table storage, along with many other games. There are books a plenty and the wi-fi reception was perfect, much to the delight of our 11 and 13 year olds. They did however love the "TeleStrations" game we found - I highly recommend that for a family game night, lots of laughter. So much to keep all ages entertained on a rainy day, which we fortunately had none of. The unseasonably beautiful weather allowed us to have breakfast and lunch out on the front decking each day and then a few drinks relaxing on the loungers or chairs in the evening. Large grass area out back also for our dog to enjoy playing with his toys.
Very close to the shop, bar, restaurant, pizza place, pool, gym and tennis courts, but still felt very private and quiet. Beach is not a long walk away and stretches out well in either direction. If you go right, you'll come to a beach cafe slightly up the hill - very good snacks and coffee but try to take cash if you can as they don't always get a signal for the card payment machine. To your left, you can walk directly along the beach to Filey itself. Lovely places to eat or have an ice-cream on the front, and decent shops for beach supplies (although you do have a fair bit supplied to borrow in Skylark). Not a tacky seaside town either - no amusements, just very relaxing and gorgeous.
Within 5 minutes of arriving here we said we'd be back, and I can't wait to do so. highly recommend x

Had another great stay at The Bay. First time in this property- had everything you would need. The bedrooms were a lovely size and it was nice to have the option of a bath or a shower. A bonus was the two patio- one at the front and one at the back of the property, which I was lucky enough to be able to use due to the unexpected lovely weather!
In a quiet area but close to all of the amenities. Didn't use the swimming pool but did enjoy lots of walks on the beach, straight from The Bay.

What a find! We wanted a short break for us and our labrador and this was perfect. Spacious, comfortable and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and bathrooms. A great location on a quiet cul-de-sac close to the amenities and convenient for the beach. We never rebook the same place for a holiday... but we have this time!

This was our second stay in this lovely accommodation with our 2 boys and 1 dog and it did not disappoint. The property has everything you could possibly need, it is in a great location and is well looked after. The new decking as the back was completed while we were there and is a great addition. Very easy access to the very large sandy beach, ideal for dogs as there are no restrictions. Very cold when the wind blows off the North Sea.
This time we took the coastal bus to Scarborough & Bridlington (dogs allowed & no charge), bus stop at The Bay entrance.

We are just back from a 6 day stay at Skylark and had a fabulous stay. There was a slight mix up with the cleaning at the start however this was quickly and professionally dealt with. The house is comfortable and has all the amenities you would need to stay, it’s spacious and beautifully decorated. Only a short walk to the leisure Centre, pub and coastal walks. We will be back again in the future!

We had a lovely break in Skylark with our two boys and our dog. The accommodation was just perfect with everything you could possibly need. Don't think we have stayed at such a well equipped holiday home! Its close to the amenities but still felt really quiet. Would love to stay again. Great value booking with Filey Bay Direct compared to what we have paid for accommodation at Filey Bay before, especially for such a lovely place.

We couldn't ask for more. This was our second stay and we've now booked to visit another 2 times! Ticks all the boxes for our needs and is in a great location. It is a lovely property in a good position at the Bay. It is wonderfully clean and has everything you could need.
The contact with the operator is fantastic too, couldn't want for more. No doubt we'll be back for many many times to come.

What more can I say ….this place is definitely home from home! Clean, warm, comfortable, large living space with gorgeous log fire, luxurious bedrooms with bathrooms. What makes this special though is all the little extras that are provided - a very well stocked kitchen including a wealth of pans/ glasses/ crockery, dishwasher with tablets, blankets, games, toys for dogs….

We loved our week in the Skylark it is perfect in every way! We booked a week to get away from the fireworks with our dogs. The site was much quieter than back at home. Our dogs were much calmer this year. The House has everything you could possibly need. We had the log burner going every night which was lovely and cosy.
Location is great too - close to all facilities. We will definitely be booking to stay at Skylark again.

A well-equipped, clean, beautifully furnished and spacious beach house. Everything there that you could possibly need, from cafetière to condiments, from buckets and spades to connect 4. Dogs are very welcome and there are dog bowls and toys too. Another lovely stay. Already booked for next visit!! Paula is an absolute delight to deal with.

A lovely property located perfectly in a quiet area of the holiday park but still very close to the amenities. Gives great access to the local areas and the beach. The convenience of an EV charger was great. The property is lovely and spacious for us and our little pooch. So much so we've already booked to return.

An excellent stay in high quality well managed and maintained beach house. Lovely décor and feel throughout the house, points to note and worthy of special mention include very nice and comfy beds particularly when compared to some others in properties I have stayed in at the same site over the years, lovely bedroom carpets and space, excellent ensuite and also plenty of outdoor patio areas with furniture and sunbeds available for use. Also living room area large and airy and again as a comparison to other experience in properties really felt the blinds in all rooms were lovely, spot on and quality, also larger than average TVs throughout the accommodation.

The only negative and this is not a fault of the owner or the property but after an unpleasant experience from one of our party I feel the site owners / operators (Away Resorts) need to do something about the sleepers outside as the entrance path to the property - something that I have reported both verbally in site to reception and followed up in writing after leaving) as these are a great health and safety risk when wet. I just want to be clear that this comment has nothing to do with Fileybaydirect who we booked through, Paula and her team were absolutely fantastic from start to finish, knowledgeable, helpful, nothing was too much trouble and I would recommend the complete booking and holiday experience

Skylark is a beautiful property in possibly one on the best positions on The Bay. This was out 5th holiday there so we have tried others. It has a very well equipped kitchen with comfortable furniture including very nice dining furniture. Two large bedroom with comfortable beds. We certainly had no problem getting a good night's sleep. Bathrooms are both a nice size, one having a bath which is great for smaller children. There is a lovely grassy area at the back so not overlooked at all and very quiet. Playground is not too far away on the opposite side of the road. All other amenities very close including the walk to the beach. The hill back up kept us "oldies" very fit. Will be back.

The lodge far exceeded expectations. Best self catering I have ever been in(73 and been in many flats and caravans in UK and abroad) Had a problem finding fuse box but a text message rapidly sorted it. A few very cold nights but we were plenty warm enough in bed with just a thin duvet. Sofa very comfortable. Tv excellent. Lots to keep adults and kids occupied if weather bad

Excellent holiday home...Very comfortable & lots of stuff to keep everyone happy when it rained.
Whilst appreciating that the house was dog friendly there were some big dust bunnies under the hallway table { only noticed because the dogs ball had rolled under.
The shop was well stocked but we were upset that they would't take our Telegraph voucher & we will be letting the newspaper know as it makes a mockery of us having paid already for them {4 days worth}

We enjoyed our stay at Skylark. The accommodation is spacious, tastefully furnished and decorated, with two bathrooms, just as shown on the website. It's very well-equipped, close to all amenities on the site but felt quiet and private, with a pleasant grassed area at the rear. Furnished decking at the front and back, with patio doors means you could sit out in the sunshine all day. We love the area snd have stayed at The Bay many times st various times of the year. We like the fact that dogs are welcome and we will definitely be returning.

Our stay was beautiful. The place we stayed was so clean and homely. First time travelling with our baby and it was a lovely home from home holiday.

Paula who dealt with our booking was incredible, very friendly, understanding and was always available to help with anything to do with the booking, the property whilst we were there and advice on the facilities.

Plenty to do on site. So you don’t really have to go far. Really great. The only thing we was sad about was that we weren’t there for longer!
